“Decent, but expected a bit more”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 July 2014

Stayed here after a long direct flight from Chicago with some friends. We did a bit of research before embarking on this trip and had had several friends who stayed here before and recommended Tiziano. After being up for 30 plus hours any bed is a bed but in the morning you start to see the issues. The hotel staff could not have been more pleasant or hospitable. From the front of house to the breakfast attendants, they were the most hospitable and helpful during our stay. The Lobby was cute and the elevator small and quaint. The issue I have was that the rooms were so completely different. We had two rooms, down the hall from one another and it was amazing how they differed. Ours was small, and was very humid. I am aware that European air conditioning is very different from here in the US but I know when it is simply not working. No matter what the AC was not working period. It made the evenings awful and almost unbearable to sleep. If it wasn't for the sheer lack of sleep from a day and a half of traveling it would have been impossible to sleep in a room with that much humidity.

On the other hand the bathroom was extremely clean and was a decent size. The breakfast they served was lovely and had amazing coffee in the AM. The front desk was helpful in getting us taxis very early to Fiumicino. The Hotel does have a pretty interesting history. It was formerly a home that was converted in to apartments that then turned into a hotel. You can still see the unique and decorative elements of the building, such as the flooring and moldings throughout the hotel that are from its original era. For the price, its decent, yet the air conditioning thing was a real deal breaker for me so make sure yours works.

Room Tip: Make sure you get a room that has working AC as every rooms seems to be very unique. From layout, to...

It is a very basic hotel but you can't beat the location. We were a family of 4 with two kids and we walked everywhere from this hotel. We didn't use a taxi at all except from the airport. Don't have any expectations of the hotel, though. It is old and misses most of current hotel basics.

I stayed at this hotel at the beginning of June for four nights. It was my first time to Rome and because I was travelling by myself, I had chosen the hotel based more on location than comfort. After reading previous reviews I went in with low expectations, but was pleasantly surprised. Yes, its not modern and very basic. But it had a comfortable bed, free internet and breakfast included. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful with maps and directions etc. But the location of this hotel is what makes it so good. It was walking distance to all the main attractions. I didn't use public transport except for the train to the airport. Overall, I would recommend staying here, especially if you will be out sightseeing all day, all you need is a basic room at night.

Room Tip: Some rooms have been renovated - ask for one of these

Best location for touring Rome, but sorry to say there were too many issues to be excused. I still enjoyed my trip, but the hotel, even for a discount price as rooms go, needs to shape up.

The hotel carpet is filthy. Should be pulled up, sagging and beyond cleaning. Room was obviously for handicapped. It was bigger and that was what I'd asked for...so I got it.

However, major problems that cannot be ignored. Shower curtain just hanging on a rickety circular rack. The floor was not recessed, shower sprayed just straight onto the regular floor. It wouldn't drain and so spread throughout bathroom and deeply flooded no matter what I did to try to stop it. Shouldn't have to work so hard to take care of someone else's property on vacation.

Shower curtain had pink mold and clung to my body which I found seriously offensive. Tried my best to take care. Had to wash parts of my body in sections and rinse with handheld water spray crouched over drain.

Exposed wiring on hair dryer, was afraid of electrocution, water completely covering bathroom, standing at least an inch.

Loud street noise, not much peace for rest, but that was mostly because of the bus stop, which once again was also a plus- if you ride the bus.
I figured out on my own that closing the shutters might help with the street noise.

Owners need to put some serious money into remodeling and repair, but no excuse for mold and filth. Anyone can clean.

The front desk younger man ignored my concerns about the shower and street noise. He was sometimes rather impatient, it seemed like I bothered him. I politely inquired two times about a different room because of the shower and deep water problem. No response, like I hadn't even said anything, so I let it go fearing I might go from bad to worse after seeing the rest of the hotel. I never mentioned it after the first day and a half with no reply and just dealt with it. Not much of a treat cleaning someone else's bathroom on vacation.

Positive, wonderful breakfast. Nice breakfast attendant, older gentlemen and girl at front desk. Perfect location right at bus stop, but then again, extremely loud and congested.
Bed was hard and uncomfortable.
Even for the lower cost, I would not stay there again. With all the greater problems, the pink slimy mold was the worst offense. Mere laziness.

This was our first time in Rome but first time staying in the area. I really enjoyed the location. The staff was fantastic at helping us find restaurants for my niece who is very allergic to gluten. Conveniently located. We did a lot of eating near the pantheon. Our room was HUGE! We had new windows which I think cut down on the street noise and there was no noise from inside the hotel

Room Tip: My sister had a room in the back and I don't think hers was as nice. Our front room on the firs...

Very old hotel sums it up. Clean, great air conditioning, breakfast was just ok. Street is busy but easy to find. You're definitely just paying for location and extremely helpful and friendly staff.
You're in the heart of Rome. Steps away from everything.

the location is really good. From there you can walk to most of the attractions in Rome like the Spanish steps, Trevi fountain, Vatican, Coloseum etc. a few of the restaurants nearby are also very good like the Maranega.
service from the reception in the hotel is really good. they were very helpful , spoke good English and quite friendly. the customer service can't be faulted.
Breakfast , even though , its continental is really quite good as well. there is a wide enough selection to make most quite satisfied. as its a buffet you can eat to heart's content.
the hotel is quite old , so dont expect the furnishing in the rooms to be quality stuff. the bathroom was relatively new.

Room Tip: i would pick a room facing the rear , its a lot quieter. the road in front of the hotel is the main...
