“Nice place for business”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 April 2014

I spent 2 nights here whilst on business in Rome. It is on a nice neighbourhood with lots of shops and restaurants around. The staff is very friendly and professional, check in as well as checkout are processed very quickly. Rooms are very large and clean. The bathroom as well.
Breakfast is fantastic, with a large variety of foods, drinks and fruits.
The only problem was the electronic key, it was defaulting and anytime I went to fix it, there were people having the same problem. I recommend the management to have this in mind.

It was the first time we have visited Italy, so as with any first visit without a Rep or any pre-arranged transfers, it was initally quite daunting. We got a taxi to the hotel (beware of unofficial cabs-anyone who touts! They will tell you they are official and then rip you off! Only take registered white cabs with licence details on the drivers door, and agree the fixed rate of €48 when leaving the airport before you get in.) On our arrival we were made to feel comfortable and were shown to our room on the 6th floor. We went in to find a complementary bottle of Prosecco on the table, which was nicely presented and had a hand written congratulations card with it-perfect! The room itself was very nice, the highlights being: the huge bed made up of luxury linnen-very comfortable, bath robes and slippers, and a large walk in shower. The room was only lacking in milk for hot drinks and blackout curtains. (Minor quibbles.) The hotel's facilities were very nice, and good service was recieved by all staff. The roof top terrace and ground floor patio were particularly nice areas to relax. Breakfast was substancial and enjoyed each morning. We found the best way to visit the main sites (with the map and description proved by the hotel on request) was by getting the number 87 bus to the Colosseum (make sure you book on-line, we skipped nearly 2hrs of queuing!) from the Piazza Cavor bus stops just up the road from the hotel. From the Colosseum map inhand you can walk back to the hotel visiting many main sites on the way. We had an amazing time discovering Rome in this way! During the evening there are some nice nearby restaurants to eat in. We always felt comfortable outside when doing this, once we had found our bearings. We would definately stay here again and want to thank the hotel for spoiling us, and making our stay that bit more extra special!

Myself and my wife have just come back from spending 3 days in Rome. I booked Visconti Palace based on reviews and budget and I am so glad that i did because this hotel is fantastic. Check in was quick and our room was booked on the 6th floor. The room itself was fantastic, modern, and clean. The shower was amazing and bath robes and slippers were provided. The location is really good too. nearest metro stop being lepanto so only a 10 minute walk towards the vatican. The area itself has several restaurants, cafes and eateries. Overall it was a memorable hotel and will look to stay here again next time in Rome.

I was in April 2014 for 4 nights in this hotel. the place of hotel is good but a little far from centre. breakfast was poor. generally I like hotels except staffs and atmosphere. Staffs are very polite but really unfriendly.

When in Rome, there isn't one central location, you are either by the colosseum or by the Vatican; this hotel is right in between. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, they recommended a great lil spot for dinner when our restaurant of choice was booked. Hotel has a nice outdoor seating where you can relax after a long day of site seeing. Nice, tasty bkfast with multiple selections. My only negative comment is the shower, its small; I'm 5"7 at about 120lb and found it hard to take a relaxing shower.

My spouse and I had an enjoyable stay at the Visconti Palace from 15 Mar 14 to 22 Mar 14. Our premier guestroom #601 was contemporary in design. The queen bed (equivalent to a North American king size) was very comfortable and the linens were very good quality. The room also included a small sofa and side chair, a round table and chair, and a small bar fridge.

The bathroom reflected the same contemporary design, and offered a very large walk-in shower (I wish more hotels did the same) and plenty of counter space for our toiletries. The hotel provided Malin+Goetz shampoo and other products, which were wonderful.

The breakfast room offered plenty of seating, and a wide variety of hot and cold choices. The pastries were heavenly and very tempting.

The ground floor patio and the roof top terrace offered a relaxing oasis at the end of a busy day.

The staff was helpful, courteous, and professional.

The Visconti Palace’s location is idyllic, lying in the Prati district between Piazza di Spagna and St. Peter's. On the day of our arrival, we took the SIT Airport Bus to Piazza Cavour, and walked two shorts block to the hotel. The neighbour was quiet and offered a variety of small restaurants and shops especially on the Via Cola di Rienzo. The hotel’s central location made it very easy to walk to practically everything that we wanted to see in Roma.

Overall, I highly recommend this hotel, and hope to return to it some day soon.

Cons: We booked a premier room using the hotel Web site, which mentioned a free upgrade in higher room category upon check-in, subject to availability. At check-in, we were given a premier room. The following day, when I asked at the front desk about the free upgrade, I was told that we had received an upgrade. Strange because our room looked identical to the premier room photos on their Web site.

The temperature in the room was 25C (77F). Though the window opened partially, the room never cooled off and noise from the ground floor patio could be heard. When asked if the AC was broken, I was advised that it would be turned on later in the season.

We recently traveled with daughter and grandchildren, requiring two triple rooms. She got a standard triple, which was very nice, king plus a real twin bed (no foldout or convertible). We booked a triple superior, which got us the same in a big corner room with lots of windows, double closets and a huge bathtub! Big bath towels, too! Service was excellent. Breakfast was bountiful, with everything you could possibly want (except maybe eggs to order the American way, but who cares?) Big variety of fresh fruits, many types of breads and croissants, etc. Since we had to leave very early the last morning to catch a flight, they packed brown bag breakfasts-to-go for us, no extra charge! Just ask 24 hrs in advance. Location close to Piazza Cavour was great, on major bus lines to everywhere. Coming home, just look for Piazza Cavour on the handy bus info signs at major stops to catch a direct ride. Within walking distance to the Vatican. Big plus: great little gelato shop between the bus stop and the hotel to top off the day!

Room Tip: Ask for a corner room, or one with a terrace...
