Booked the hotel through BA, and chose mainly for its location. It's in a relatively quiet street (we were able to sleep with the window open, in a room at the front of the hotel, without being disturbed) within walking distance of so many of the great sights. Only 10-15 minute walk to the Spanish Steps, Piazza Navona, Vatican City. Only had to use public transport (the metro) once during the stay.

The hotel itself was lovely. The staff were very friendly and efficient, and helpful with suggesting areas to find a restaurant. The room (a Deluxe) was larger than I expected. The bed was comfortable, but quite firm. The bathroom was fine if a bit dated, and the bath was very small! The breakfast was good, with nice coffee.

A lovely stay in Rome, would look to stay at the Mellini again if I'm fortunate enough to go back!

From the moment we arrived we were greeted with a smile!!! This not overly luxurious Hotel and also not as pricey as most, is well situated to visit most sights in Rome especially the Vatican. We were two couples one had a Standard Double which was a great, big, spacious, with all the confort needed the bathroom was very nice and confortable. It was a great Hotel to arrive to after a whole day of activities and walking!!!
The other couple had the suite it was very good, had bedroom and living room with two bathrooms.
All in all the Hotel is very recomended to make your stay in Rome very enjoyable, especially with the nice most courtious staff whom are always smiling.

We booked a Deluxe Room in the Dei Mellini through BA as it was a good deal. The Hotel is lovely and there was a bowl of fruit in our room on arrival which was very welcome. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The only down bit was that we had one 'house maid' at the beginning of the holiday who was excellent and mopped the bathroom floor every day and replenished bathroom items, we then had another 'house maid' for the last 2/3 days of the holiday and she did not mop the bathroom floor or replenish items which was a shame as everything else was perfect. The staff in the Restaurant where we had breakfast were super. They were always bubbly and chatty. The Reception Staff were also very helpful. If we ever went back to Rome this is where we would stay. The location is also excellent and we found a good local restaurant around the corner.

So happy to be here. We've stayed in Venice , Florence and Sorrento and so very happy to be here. This hotel is polished and very comfortable. Perfectly located in a great part of town with oversized rooms to boot. Feels like an American top hotel and finally able to relax on last leg of our two week trip to Italy.

We spent 5 nights at the Dei Mellini at the end of March and found this hotel to be in such a great location that we didn't use public transport once during our sight-seeing trips. From the airport we caught the Leonardo Express train for 14 euros each one way then got a taxi to the hotel as it is quite a distance from Termini to walk with cases and we had hit Rome at rush hour which put us off using the subway. All the sights are within 20 minutes easy walking distance except for the Colosseum; that was a 40 minute walk from St Peter's Basillica. If you have time do take a stroll through the park in Janiculum and on through the lovely Trasteverre district as it takes you away from the hustle and bustle of the main tourist areas.
The hotel staff are really helpful and polite and the girls serving at breakfast time always had a smile on their faces. As we were there for 5 nights, breakfast each morning could have been a bit more varied.
Our room was a deluxe which we would recommend as you get tea/coffee making facilities and more space to relax in after a day out. The decor in the bathroom was a bit dated and tired but the shower was hot and powerful. Typical in most Italian hotels.
Lots of good restaurants to choose from all within easy walking distance of the hotel.

Room Tip: All rooms are quiet as the hotel is in a residential neighbourhood. There are 4 floors of rooms with...

Booked this hotel after reading reviews and finding a great deal with flights from BA. It was everything we hoped for and more! I contacted the hotel prior to our travel as it was my Partner's birthday whilst there and arranged a balloon in the breakfast room on the day. They could not be more helpful. Everything was perfect for us from the moment we walked in the door. Our room was spotless every day and beds turned down. On this note this was the comfiest big bed ever, I usually toss and turn but had 4 fantastic nights sleep. I wish I could have brought it home! We had a bucket with prosecco and glasses left in the room for my Partner's birthday with a lovely card and every member of staff was friendly, knowledgable and helpful. The location was perfect, lovely quiet street but everything withing walking distance. We are already discussing another trip to Rome as we fell in love with it and would most definitely stay here again. Can't wait to come back :)

What can I say, what a great hotel. lovely room, go for the deluxe if you can.
The staff were great, very helpful, couldn't do enough. the room was large and well appointed for a great relaxing stay in Rome.
Breakfast was full and continental, plenty of choice.
Close to river and a short walk to Spanish Steps and Vatican but a good 25min walk to the Colosseum.
An Ideal place to see the main attractions but to be slightly away from the noise and bustle of Rome and the honking horns, A quiet place at night. Central hotels can be very noisy!!!
You won't be disappointed with this hotel!!!

Room Tip: Go for the Deluxe room it's worth the extra!!
