“Excellent location/great staff”
Reviewed 19 October 2013

Had very limited time in Rome. Wanted a room within walking distance to the major sights and this hotel was great. We were also all women so wanted a safe location. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We stayed in the annex which was a bit of a hassle as you have to go through 3 locked doors to get in but the rooms were comfortable. My only complaint is that the elevator is small (one person with suitcase and there were 5 of us) and didn't work when we left. Otherwise, great value.

Room Tip: Annex rooms are cheaper but no in house staff.

Dear Guest,
Thank you for your review. Our area is very safe, in the center of Rome in the middle of two local police stations, it is a quiet residential area where you can walk the night. In addition, our location is very central, a few steps from the Spanish Steps, the Vatican and Campo de Fiori. Our rooms in the annexe just 50 meters from the main building are excellent and economical solution in style, we invite you to see the photos of the rooms in the annex to our official site, the three ports are three security doors to ensure the highest level of tranquility to our guests. Sorry, that when you leave the lift was under maintenance but they fixed it and now it works fine.
see you soon,

The location is excellent. The breakfast buffet was very good. The reception area had cold water, hot coffee and bakery. The staff were courteous. The rooms in the main hotel were very clean.
Terrible mix up upon arrival. Had booked a room in the main building 6 months ago. Evidently, someone had given our room and our companions rooms away to walk-in guests. After much confusion we were sent across the street to the annex to a small room. My husband became ill on the trip so the walk over to the annex was difficult to say the least. The elevator didn't work so we had a flight of steps. I couldn't open the suitcases because the room was so small. It was hot, no breeze from the window and no air from the venting. The bed had one flat bottom sheet on top of a not so nice mattress. The next day, after complaining, we were put into the main building with nice clean rooms. Upon check out there were no notes explaining the compensation we were to receive so we had to wait for that to appear on our credit card. The reception desk was very helpful assisting me with having to change my flight due to my husbands illness. They have done all they could to appease us, however, not so sure we would trust going there again and having to go through all the hassle.

Room Tip: Have them check the A/C or assist you in setting it.

I was in Rome in september with my husband and 2 friends. The hotel is situated in center of the town so you cango by foot to Vatican and other major attractions. I was very surprised to find the reception in a building and the rooms across the street, further on the left... anyway, the rooms are big and clean. I didn't like the way the two ldies that are serving breakfast talk to you, and when I asked some bread ( that had finishes), I was told to be patien, and so on....! I think that the manager can teach them how to speak nice to people in vacation... :)))) I deffinately recomend this hotel due to the cleanliness of the rooms.

The room was of adequate size, not too big and not too small. Service was excellent and the staff was helpful. The shower was small and elbows kept hitting the door. Breakfast was good and substantial with bread, meats, cheeses, variety of croissants and donuts, cereals, yogurt, fruits, juices and coffee. The cappuccino was excellent! We were put in the annex part of the hotel which was a block away. Vatican was about 15 min walk and about the same to the Spanish Steps.

Dear Guest,
Our cappuccino is usually drunk sweetened, often accompanied by brioche or croissant.
it is made up of about 125 ml milk and 25 ml of coffee. Our foam is good looking and in abundant quantity. Sometimes, to complete a real cappuccino, our staff add some cocoa. In our breakfast room you can ask for a dark cappuccino or cappuccino and clear, the first is stronger. Our annex room are a smart solution they cost less than hotel rooms but have all the standards and services, breakfast in annex room is not included but you can buy it at the cost of euro 7,50 per person, you can check our official website to look at our brekfast buffet photos.
Kindest Regards,

We had booked another hotel for our week in Rome. But upon arrival the hotel was fully booked. And we were turned away. I took out my iPhone and found a good looking hotel with a decent price close by. The hotel was Hotel Sant Angelo.

I must say that we were surprised when we walked in. Very tasty entrance with huge marble statues "guarding" the entrance. The check in went swiftly and we were allocated a room close to the reception. The room it self was a huge double room, with plenty of space, and plenty of storage room. Not quite the standard for Rome hotels, all the other hotels we have stayed in has been very very small. Nice flatscreen tv. Clean bathroom. Good mattresses. Our son (1 year old) slept in his travel-bed next to us, and still there was plenty of space to walk around. I would guess aprox. 35-40 square meters.

The service was excellent. We got some really great tips about "hidden gem" restaurants. And for our first time we found a place that the clientele consisted of only Italians. We ate there three days in a row. The staff also invited us to a free get together with the other guests. They served complimentary wine and snacks. A nice touch by the hotel, we thought.

All in all, a very good hotel. We will most definitely be back!

Dear Customer,
L 'Athena Giustiniani or Giustiniani Minerva entrance of the hotel sant angelo is a marble copy of a Greek sculpture of Pallas Athena, the end of the fourth century BC.
The sculpture was probably a cult image rather than a trophy culture decoration. The snake to the right foot of Athena recalls the archaic myth of Erichthonius in his serpent-shaped. Many of our customers are photographed with the statue near the snake, and their vacation is always lucky, go and see the photo of the statue in our official website.
The room that you have taken in the hotel is one of the biggest with 35 square meters of space, our rooms are actually more normally small but they all have style decor with antique furniture and modern technology delivers superior such as flat-screen televisions.
Our staff is always ready to advise non-tourist restaurants at affordable price where you can enjoy the specialties of Roman cuisine, sure to try the pasta amatriciana and carbonara. Every night at 19:30 we are happy to offer our guests a special aperitif drinking a glass of Italian wine and tasting of sweet and savory snacks, prepared by our staff.
We are waiting still in Rome,

We have just spent five nights at this hotel. It is situated in an excellent location for all the main attractions making it easy to explore Rome
We had a minor problem with our first room but the staff could not have been more helpful and we were given a different room the next morning.
A good selection available for breakfast and the ladies in the breakfast room were so helpful even when really busy.
Some lovely Trattorias nearby and we loved Memmo Trattoria just across the square , it was good value for great food.
If you want a friendly hotel to use as a base to explore this wonderful city , you won't get better value for money than this hotel, the staff are certainly the heart of this hotel and you are given a wonderful warm welcome.
