“Had a great Stay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 June 2013

We picked this hotel to stay in, for 3 nights, as it was a reasonable price and the location seemed ok.
Turns out it was a 15/20 minute walk from the Termini station, but only 2 stops on the metro to a station 5 minutes away which is well worth doing if you have loads of luggage and are coming from the station. This metro station is also on the line that will take you straight through to stops for the Trevi fountain, Spanish Steps, Vatican city to name a few. It is also a straightforward 15 minute walk to the Colosseum so for us the location was good.
This is not a large hotel, and maybe not the most modern but we found our double room to be more than adequate, with Air con, a decent shower, and all the normal facilities(e.g. mini bar, safe, toiletries etc.).
Some people have complained about the wi-fi not working but it worked ok for us, but do note you can only connect 1 device.
The breakfast was your typical continental style and we had no complaints.
I would use the hotel again as it was very reasonably priced.

The hotel is conveniently located not far from Termini and 5 min walk from a metro station. Out of the 3 receptionists we met during our stay, 2 of them were very nice and helpful but one was not that great, not to say rude.
The room was spacious with a big bathroom and recently refurbished. In spite of the convenient location, the hotel is very quiet during the day and at night.
We were not too impressed by the breakfast though. We can not complain in regard to the price but it could be improved easily. For example, bread was not good and fresh, the orange juice was the kind made from a powder
Overall we enjoyed our stay and would choose to go again.

Room Tip: The room inside the main building as opposed to the one accessible from the Patio are better.

Stayed in this hotel for 4 days. The rooms(only about 8 in all since its a small hotel) although small but clean and comfortable. The hotel is 3 minutes walk from Metro station Manzoni(Redline - this connects maximum stations) and 20 minutes walk from Termini station. The staff are courteous but do not spaak English very well (which is a common problem in Rome) so I had to use a lot of sign language. A foreign traveller must be aware that no kettle is available in the room which means no bed tea until breakfast time (staff does not approve of carrying tea to room from breakfast room else they charge for it) ; all channels on TV are in Italian only, no complimentary water bottles . The breakfast is a very nice assortment. There is a supermarket, restaurants closeby for dinner and grocery requirements. Overall a good stay.

It is perfect hotel if you want value for money. Problem with big tourist cities is that most of cheap hotels are stinky, ugly, etc. But this is not the case. It is completely new renovated, fresh, clean. Breakfast is perfect, location is perfect. It is 10 minutes walk from Coloseo, no need for further explanations. From Termini it is 2 MRT stations or 15 min walk. Nearby is supermarket, and perfect restaurant LA TAVERNA ITALIANA, i recommend it. 2 bed room is quite small, but if youre there for few days, it is not problem. Very friendly staff. My favourite is guy working nightshift, he is so nice and friendly.

Room Tip: Nearby is exelent restaurant LA TAVERNA ITALIANA, it is better than those recomended by hotel staff.

Stayed one night before an airport departure, so needed to be near Termini station (a 15-minute walk). The neighborhood has considerable trash on the streets and sidewalks, compared with the Rome neighborhood we were in upon arrival for this vacation. But, the district housing looks like it once had prestige (I learned the Ambassador from England resides a couple of blocks away at a huge walled villa property.

The hotel is clean, modern and small, in a historic building. We had one of the terrace small rooms (103, I believe) and, yes indeed, it was small. The bed was no more than a double width (we ordinarily sleep in king beds, or queens if necessary)......and we both slept poorly. So, as recommended by other reviewers, if traveling as a twosome, ask for a room on another level.

Also, the bathroom had a shower without a guard on the floor (no tub), and the drain evidently didn't work, because the floor was flooded in no time. We told the receptionist and she said it always happens.

Breakfast was fine and the staff were pleasant and helpful (and spoke English well).

We (husband and I) would stay here again, if a larger room were available. But, if traveling solo, this room would work well. It was nice to sit out on the terrace.

This was a very nice small hotel. It was slightly off the beaten path away from the Spanish Steps and other areas full tourists and overpriced hotels. Yet we were a block away from the Manzoni metro stop on the red line so it was easy to get to anywhere we wanted: 7 stops to Vatican City; 4 stops to Spanish Steps; 3 stops to Trevi Fountain, 2 stops to Termini train station. Walking distance to the Coloseum (or you can opt to going by metro 4 stops but requires transfer at Termini to the blue line).

Daniela at the front desk was very nice and helpful. The rooms were big and spacious (EXCEPT for rooms 101-104). The first 3 nights we were there, our room was on the 2nd floor and it was very nice spacious room. It also had a very comfortable couch. However, on our return back to Rome from Amalfi, we stayed one more night prior to catching our departing flight the next day. It turns out that they were booked solid and the only room available was by the courtyard, which appears like an addition to the hotel. The rooms were very tiny, the bathroom didn’t have a good shower – all for the same price of the first big room we had.

The first room was a very good value and I would recommend anyone staying there. However, if you get one of the small rooms, it’s not worth it. I wouldn’t pay ½ the price. So be sure you don’t get room 101-104. Other than that, it’s a great value, nice small hotel, nice location in a Rome neighborhood, and Daniela was very helpful.

Room Tip: Be sure to request that you do NOT want rooms 101-104. Other than that, it’s a great value, nice sm...

We stayed at la locanda mid august and we had a very good service from the staff. Although the room was quite small (we were three), it was very clean, the bathroom was huge, the staff was great and very disponible, the breakfast was diversified and its well located just nearby the Coliseum.
