Locanda al Viminale
Ranked #27 of 3,722 Rome B&B and Inns
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 8 April 2012

The B&B is situated next to the Viminale; as this huge complex is a Ministry it stays very calm till 9am :).
There are only 4 rooms, recently refurbished, all on the 1st floor and accessible with a lift. Our room was the only one having a little balcony. Spacious room(20m²), tiled, with huge ceiling, airco & heating. Beds with latex mattress (a little too firm to my liking), wardrobe, dressing table with flatscreen TV, small round table & 2 chairs, safety box. Bathroom with shower (+ rainshower), toilet, bidet & sink, floor & walls tiled.
Breakfast (Italian : glass of juice, hot drink, fresh croissant, 2 rusks, butter, jam and a yoghurt) is served in the room.
Everything is very clean. Owners speak English & French and are helpful when asked.
Free WIFI.
We walked to all the touristic places without difficulties but there is also a bus for the City centre and the Vatican at 500m.
Several small restaurants for lunch and dinner in the neighborhood, we liked the one next door best.
Access : we asked the B&B to reserve a taxi, were met at the airport and brought to the door in a comfy Merc for €40. To go back we took a Terravision bus from Termini station (15 min walk) at €6 pp.

Me and my Fiancé stay here for 2 nights 29-31st March 2012 and would definitely come again. The room was always very clean and the bathroom is brand new. The location was excellent as all of the major sights are within walking distance. Carla was fantastic and could not do enough for us; I highly recommend this bed and breakfast.

We choose Locanda al Viminale for the location - easy walk from the train station, close to bus & subway lines, and walkable to many sights too. The room & bath were clean & comfortable and had everytrhing we needed. The in-room breakfast was lovely and always prompt. But the absolute best part of our stay was the warm, friendly, & helpful hospitality of Carla & Paulo who made us feel special and made our visit to Rome extra memorable.

Carla and her husband were very friendly and helpful during our visit to Rome recently (1/2/2012 - 4/2/2012). They arranged taxi pick up for us from the airport to their lovely place that are strategically located in the heart of Rome. The location is perfect for those who wanted to visit Rome and only takes about 8-10 minutes walking distance to the Rome Train Station, which is very convenient. As a first timer visitor to Rome, I find that the location of the place is perfect for me and my siblings because everything are within walking distance. We even walked to the Vatican City!

The room is very clean, modern and enough for three of us (my sister, brother and myself). I am very particular about the bathroom when I go traveling and I have no complaint whatsoever with the recently furnished (i think...coz everything look so new and clean :) ) bathroom. Complete with hairdryer, heated towel rail and other basic toiletries, this place is perfect for those who wants to travel light. After a long day in Rome, going back to those comfy bed is all that we need....

The breakfast is perfect complete with freshly baked pastries, toast, yogurt, jams, juices and coffees, enough for us to get our tummy prepared before the long walking exploring Rome. For lunch or dinner, there's a restaurant downstair offering local cuisines, but we never tried they as my brother love the pizza at one of the pizza place not far down the road. There's also a SPARK nearby if u ever need something.

On our last day in Rome, it was snowing heavily and there were no taxi or busses out of Rome to the airport. Carla and her husband were kind enough to help me to find information on how to get us to the airport and catch our flight back to UK.

If we ever go back to Rome, we would definitely stay at this place again! Maybe next time with my husband for our honeymoon... :)

We stayed here on our Honeymoon in early January 2012. When we booked the reservation, we were worried about staying at a B&B in Italy rather than getting a normal hotel room. My husband and I agreed... this was defintely a great decision on our part! We were so comfortable our entire stay! The room was clean and the bathrooms were great. It's a great location, close enough to everything, but not on a very busy street, so it's quiet at night. We felt very safe (it's across from a Police station). We couldn't have been happier with our stay there. We will stay there again when we get a chance to go back!!!!!!!!

We stayed with Carla and her husband in July last year. From the moment we stepped through the door they were most helpful, provided us with a map and marked out all the best site seeing places in Rome, they also gave first class advice on the best ways to travel and how to get about the city.
Our room was spacious and very clean, breakfast was served promptly on time every morning. We were able to come and go as we please no matter the time of day or night. Both asked where we had been during the day and were very willing to share their own experiences with the city which was an added bonus!
We felt the location of the hotel was fantastic as it was in the middle of where we wanted to see and made getting around much, much easier
We can't thank them enough for making our stay in Rome a pleasent and memorable, one we shall never forget in years to come!!!
