This’s our first trip in Rome and Carla (the host) was so nice that she emailed us shortly after our reservation and see if we needed airport transfer arrangement, it works out so nicely and price is very reasonable. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. As we arrived at the hotel, they greeted us, gave us a quick intro of Rome – pointed out several great sightseeing spots, how to get around town, even recommended couple of good restaurants around the area.
The hotel location is perfect, it is one block off Via Nazionale, which provides easy access to sightseeing spots via buses or metro (2 metro stations (Republicca and Termini) are both only 5 minutes away (walking distance)). Most of the sightseeing spots are also within walking distance – don’t miss checking out Colosseo at night, and there’re tons of great restaurants nearby that area. In addition, there’re couple of supermarkets close by – one on Via Nazionale, another one across the street from Santa Maria Maggiore and another one inside Termini Station (which has longer opening hours I think).
The hotel is on the 1st floor of an old building, there’s a common area with microwave, sitting area and travel resources available. The room we stayed has a view of the Interior Ministry, it is spacious, very clean and well equipped. It has a mini fridge which we used for our Tiramisu takeout from Pompi. Breakfast is served on a platter inside of our room, it is huge and delicious ~ love the coffee, nutella, yogurt and Italian pastry! The hosts do their best to make us feel like home, one night I was craving for instant noodle at night and had my hubby to make couple cups of hot water from the microwave, the next day Carla gave us an electric kettle to use. Also, we left super early Sat morning, Cara gave us a platter of breakfast in case we wanted to get something to eat before we headed over to the airport ~ which comes in handy as the restaurants were not opened as we arrived at the airport.
Awesome services from our hosts, unbeatable location and best of all - good value. We know where we’re going to stay when we visit Rome next time.

Room Tip: We could hear some street noise from our room (esp early morning), but it didn't bother us. Light sleeper may want to consider the room facing inside of the building.

I stayed there only for a few nights but it was a wonderful experience! The room was beautiful and clean and the staff/owners were very friendly and helpful. They really take care of their guests! They asked me if via email, well before I got to Rome, if I needed transportation from where I arrived and they arranged a taxi to pick me up at the train station. I highly recommend this place and I loved it! They make you feel at home :-)

We had rented 3 rooms for 2 nights in October. When we arrived Carla took us over to her new apartment which we would share with the other 2 couples that were traveling with us. The apartment was to die for. It was beyond beautiful. She charged us the same rate as the bed and breakfast yet we felt it should have been a whole lot more. Each room had a flat screen televsion, a fully equipped kitchen which was stocked for us. Paolo even included an expresso machine which we learned to use. The location was fantastic as we were traveling by train throughout Italy and eventually to a cruise. We were within easy walking distance of Termini train station and we are all in our 60's. If you can get a room with Locanda Viminale DO IT.

We arrived early and Carla and Paolo greeted us,they arranged for a taxi to pick us up which was highly recommended! They were kind enough to allow us to freshen up as we arrived at the hotel early around 10am. Loved how convenient the location was,.there is a supermarket just behind the hotel, located on the main street.

Paolo kindly gave detailed directions, recommendations with a local map. We walked to Colosseum, trevi fountain, pantheon! Weather was beautiful.

Take the bus and switch to a tram and visit this quaint neighborhood - Trastevere!

On our last night (4 nights), we had to leave early to catch our train to Firenze and because it was a n early train ride, the sweet couple Carla and Paolo offered to fetch us to Roma Termini which we have kindly declined as it was just 10 mins walk. Highly recommended !!

We spent 3 nights in Rome and very much enjoyed staying with hosts Carla and Paolo at Locanda al Viminale.Ahead of our arrival they sent an e-mail to offer Taxi service if we needed it, and all throughout our stay were most helpful in every way.Even reserving tickets for us on the Express train to Civitavecchia for our cruise.
The room was spacious, comfortable and very nice with a view of Viminale Square. This B&B is ideally located within walking distance of most sites from the Colosseum,to Trevi Fountain and Pantheon.Breakfast was brought into our room every morning,it was excellent with juice, joghurt, croissants and great coffee.
We had a wonderful time and recommend this little hotel highly.Thank you Carla and Paolo.Grazie!
