Me and my boyfriend stayed for two nights. It was such a lovely room with unique retro themes, clean and tidy, also very comfy beds with a TV and ensuite bathroom.
The staff are so friendly, giving you a map of Rome upon arrival, very useful!
And it is a perfect location! A minute walk from the colosseum! With great restaurants near by and much more

Stopped here whilst in Rome, the reception is nicely set out and the staff were friendly and eager to help. The rooms were clean and the retro theme is really cute, just be prepared to climb a few stairs to get to your room. The included breakfast was at a nearby cafe and was also very nice, when we first arrived we were given a map and some recommendations for eating and we were not disappointed.

This is a nicely located B&B close to the Colosseum, with cool an unique rooms in a quiet area thouge it is not very close when it comes to other attractions an nightlife. cleen room with cool design. Unfortuately the beds are not very comfortable which caused bad sleep and backache. Breakfast was not included, but there is a tiny kitchen in the hallway where you can store your food in a refrigerator. Close to a cheap an popular italian restaurant.

As the name suggests, the Retrome exudes vintage. The reception was decorated with bright Vespa helmets, vintage books and a colourful kitchenette where we were offered water or coffee. We sat on a big comfy couch while a map was provided and locations highlighted.
We were shown up to the first level to our room. Styled with vintage boutique panache and brown and cream chairs. It featured a big bed, shuttered windows and a private bathroom.
Wi-Fi in Rome can be pretty hard to come by, but we had no concerns with the Internet connection in the hotel.
While all this was lovely, the real sense of place came when we walked out the front door into the cobblestone streets of Rome. Within minutes walk, the Colosseum.

We ate at 3 restaurants in the nearby vicinity and all of them were an absolute delight.

A quick 3 to 4 minute walk and we were are at the Colosseo metro stop with direct access to the large Termini railway station. Or a ten minute walk we could find ourselves on the A-metro line with direct access to Spagna and the Trevi Fountain.

Read more and see pictures on our blog. If location is key, then Retrome in Rome is king.

I stayed here for one night and would recommend this place for anyone looking for a nice room at a reasonable price. The rooms are very well-designed, clean and comfortable. The location is close to the colosseum on a quiet street. The staff are very friendly & helpful, and I really liked the map they gave me of places (sights, recommended restaurants and cafes, stores, etc) in the immediate neighborhood. The only thing that bugged me was the fact that the front desk was often closed. My wifi wasn't working and there was no one around to ask. I need a plug converter and again, no one to ask until the next day. I stored my luggage on the last day and when I wanted to get something from it the front desk was closed for hours in the middle of the day. They even charge you extra if your flight arrives at night. They email you to ask when you plan to arrive at the hotel and only open the front desk at that time, otherwise it will be closed. The other thing that was not good was the breakfast - they charge you an extra 7 EU, and then tell you to go down the street to a local cafe and give them your breakfast ticket for a 'healthy' breakfast, which was anything but that - sugary cornflakes with sweet commercial yogurt and a croissant.

My son and I spent 5 wonderful days exploring Rome - mostly on foot because so many historic buildings are close to this hotel. It was a special pleasure to see the Colosseum and Circus Maximus each day and night. We really enjoyed the meals at the local Trattoria (recommended by Hotel) which provided excellent Italian cuisine. Our hotel rooms were comfortable and quiet with a separate kitchen which was convenient for making coffee and breakfast - and the staff were very friendly and helpful. It doesn't look or feel like a tourist hotel - more like an authentic Roman apartment block. Our only complaint is that the sign giving the name "Retrome" is a bit small so when we first arrived we had difficulty seeing it in the dark - but inside the accommodation is fine.

We stayed here for two nights ( 23 to 25 April 2014) and was given a nice and comfortable room. The receptionist Sandra was friendly and attentive during our arrival. We din try the breakfast so can't comment. Overall, the stay was comfortable. It was centrally located near to Colosseum(about 15 min walk) and bus 85 (5 to 6 stops) bring you to the main shopping area near to Travi Fountain. They do supplied basic toiletries e.g. towels, shampoo and shower gel. Overall, it was a nice stay. The only exception is it may be slightly quiet at night on the street while you are walking (we were followed by a black tall men on our way back). It was like an apartment concept, we get our own room keys, there were a common kitchen with kettle and coffee machine. Overall, it was a pleasant stay.
