“Honeymoon Heaven”
Reviewed 26 November 2011

I had experience of this hotel three years ago when I stayed with 3 friends in one of their apartments and the friendliness of the staff, the location (walking distance to all major attractions) and the fantastic roof terrace (360 degree views of Rome) meant that I had no hesitation in booking a room in the hotel for our Honeymoon. We were not dissapointed.
Staff, location and terrace remain first class and the unexpected bottle of celebration bubbly was most welcome - Thank you very much.
Our room, 301, exceeded expectations. Clean, larger than I was expecting (I have stayed in shoeboxes in other capital cities for a similar price!), beautifully decorated and the ultra modern bathroom with a two way shower, bidet and speakers was well above average.
Although not cheap, the 50 euro each way taxi transfer from the airport is a must in my opinion. Smart, polite, on time drivers in high quality cars deliver you to and from the hotel relieving you of the pressure of finding your own way by public transport. The only way to start and end your holiday!
The breakfast is excellent and abundant and the basement room very nicely decorated and set out. Again, staff very attentive and eager to please.
Despite the central location, noise was never an issue either in the room (double glazed) or on the terrace - very peaceful and relaxing.
We will certainly be returning to celebrate a future wedding anniversary so see you all again soon.
Many thanks Angie & Rick

Dear guest,

“Honeymoon Heaven”

This is a review that is worth 3 reviews for the following reasons, you have been here 3 years ago and satisfied. You came back, now as a couple and are still satisfied. You will be coming to celebrate a future wedding anniversary. Different moments in one’s life but all of the utmost importance and it is our pleasure to have been able to magnify them and turn them into unforgettable moments for you.

Moments of an experience that have left a deep lived positive memory in you and that you have decided to share with your companion. We were able not to disappoint you!

Your stay with us during one of your most important periods which is the Honeymoon for us is a real pleasure. As you say, “We were not disappointed” and “ Staff, location and terrace remain first class”.

Our staff is always there to suggest non touristy restaurants, sites and of course to eliminate headache moments such as transportation being in a foreign city for you.
Thanking you once again and hoping maybe the next time you will be with us you will be in 3 instead of 2!

Warmest regards,
F. Severino

We loved this hotel's decor and location. It was great, there is an awesome farmers market everyday in the square right next to it. The location is unbeatable, 5 mins walking from most of the best attractions in Rome.

The rooms were a bit pricey given the size of them but you are paying for the experience and location. Hotel staff is very nice and friendly (Oliver, Andrew, Gabrielle). They gave us great recommendations, one was for a personal Vatican tour that was unbelievable, which made our entire Rome trip (and no I'm not religious nor into art).

Dear guest,

we appreciate your review which highlights some of our strong points: room decor, location and staff.
The elegant design of our Boutique Hotel is focussed on the small details which create a private and romantic atmosphere in all the rooms of the building which dates back to 1753 as you can see from the inscription in the hotel lobby
Just outside, you get immediately involved with the chaotic life of the market as well as the nearby shopping and dining streets.
But this is not what Campo de’ fiori was famous for.
During the Inquisition period of the XVII century, the square was the place where the capital punishments declared by the Church where executed.
The most important one, was the killing of Giordano Bruno, an heretic monk burnt alive on 17 February 1600, and today a big statue in the middle of the square is still visible.
Concerning about your consideration about the room rates, I would like to let you know that you stayed in one of the most expensive area in Rome where houses are priceless.
Finally our staff always careful to give you the recommendations such us the personal Vatican tour which you defined unbelievable as we believe that travelling is a continuous enrichment and we give you all the possibilities to enlighten yourself..
Looking forward to welcome you again

Fantastic location on the Camp de Fiori Piazza with access to daily market and tons of easy, good trattorias and bars. Some will even serve you "American breakfast" including eggs and bacon if you want! However, the hotel breakfast is also pretty good. Easy walking distance to many of the great attractions of Rome including good shopping, Villa Borghese, the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain and the Colosseum/Arch/Forum area. The area includes tons of gelaterias and boutique shops too. So A++ for the location.

Staff is also great - very helpful securing cars, helping schedule tours, directions, etc. A++ for staff.

The room we were in, room 102, was good - tiny fridge, wine glasses in the room, two little desks, comfy bed, view of the the small Biscione square, just off the main Campo de Fiori piazza. The room is very unique - I got the feeling there's no other place like it - definitely not cookie cutter like chain hotels, but sparing none of the comforts. Wine key in the room was clutch and the air/heat was good. A+ for the room. Maybe could have been bigger, but in a boutique hotel, size is not really what matters! Great attention to detail and very comfortable.

The one thing I wish I could have enjoyed more was the beautiful rooftop terrace. As it was late November during our stay, we could only hang out on the terrace for a little while before wanting to head inside due to the chill in the air. But it is totally amazing - great views on all sides, lots of seating, lovely plants and vegetation - even potted olive trees with olives on them! That would have been the best place to spend a few hours drinking wine on a sunny, warmer day - absolutely awesome. A++ for rooftop terrace/atmosphere.

I would 100% stay there again on my next trip to Rome!

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your accurate review where you promoted us with full marks in every aspect!

Our guests’ travel expectations are our main focus and we always keep going on our mission to do our best in order to make our guests have an unforgettable memory of their Roman holiday.

We are proud to know that you had the feeling of being in a unique place: our Boutique Hotel philosophy is to offer every guest an exclusive experience in a romantic and refined ambience, with comfortable accomodations and a personalized – empathic service.

Our location, as you stated, is one of our strong points, as it allows you to reach all the major sites walking. Our Hotel is located in the art of the authentic historical centre of Rome: all around our building you can see the artistic and architectural heritage of the Italian Renaissance, an historical period and cultural movement that indicated the world the centrality of man above all and the idea of a man master of his destiny. Italian Renaissance is probably best known for its artistic developments and its world famous artists such as Leonardo Da Vinci and Michelangelo, whose works you can admire with a short walk from our Hotel.

A trip to Rome, the Eternal City, is an explorarion of the historical periods lived by the whole humanity.

We are looking forward to welcoming you on your next trip!

Best Regards

We'd read reviews on both Trip Advisor and Fodor's and the reviews on Trip Advisor are far more accurate. The hotel staff couldn't have been more helpful in helping us get settled, providing excellent recommendations for dinner, and offering to help us set up tours around Rome. Our room, 302, was away from being directly over Campo and was very quiet. We loved the Terrace - the views are amazing. We'd done as many, buying some wine and cheese from one of the stores along the Campo then watched the sun set from the top of the hotel and came back day after day to enjoy the vista. The rooms are average in size but very unique. The baths are modern (very modern) and everything is quite comfy for the price. We were given an upgrade at the time of booking, which was a very nice gesture.

Location...location...location. Walking distance to just about every major site in the old city or the Vatican within about twenty minutes. There's some reasonable shopping in the area and you're a twenty minute walk from the Spanish Steps if you feel the need to part with many dollars while shopping.

The hotel arranged our transportation to/from the airport and both trips were on-time.

Breakfast is more than the standard European breakfast and is a nice addition. The breakfast room is attractive and the boutique hotel atmosphere comes through as friendships develop over breakfast.

This is a great property and we were very pleased with the value. We'd love to return.

Dear guest,

“Great Location For Exploring Rome”

and as we say, “a trip to Rome is an exploration of the historical and cultural periods lived and being lived by humanity!” A gratified guest is a gratified memory and this is what we try to do for all of our guests being a vacation not only a moment of leisure but also a moment of economic and time investments adding to their cultural baggage unforgettable sensations and images which we try to magnify to make them everlasting.

A coin throw away, one may see from ancient ruins such as the Colosseo to Barocco Roma with its magnificent Architects such as, Gianlorenzo Bernini and Francesco Borromini. Bernini known for the colonnade of Saint Peters a masterpiece of 284 columns all perfectly carved and in line also for his Fontana dei Fiumi in the famous Piazza Navona and many other works and on the same Plaza a Borromini masterpiece as well is located such as, the Church of Sant'Agnese in Agone. Rinascimental Rome with it’s Architects such as, Sangallo, Michelangelo, Vignola e Della Porta. One of the most important buildings which took almost 70 years to build is the famous, Palazzo Farnese in the Campo de’ fiori area exactly where the Hotel Campo de’ Fiori is located!

One may go on and on Rome being truly the cradle of humanity. Thanking you for the kind and appreciating words and hoping to have you once again as our clients on your next venture!

Warm regards,
F. Severino

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Staff is really great and goes out of their way to accommodate. Great location, good breakfast, and nice, clean rooms. Rooms are a tad on the small side, but ample enough for your needs with modern bathrooms.
Only issue we had was with some loud patrons utilizing the upstairs terrace and literally screaming in the halls. It was past 2 am and we had an early tour. We're on the 6th floor, close to the terrace entrance. Can also be a little loud in the morning when they clean, so if you're a late sleeper bring earplugs or request a room away from elevator below floor 5. Really outside of the isolated incidents the noise is tolerable. Terrace has great views of the city, nice seating area for drinks and lounging.

Dear guest,

“Great hotel with great service”

A 360° description that leaves nothing to say other than, thank you! We do blend a beautiful boutique hotel with a beautiful top floor terrace view of Rome and then add the spicies which is our Staff. A professional and always available personnel that puts at disposal all of its knowledge to assure all a memorable stay with us.
In reference to the noise on the roof terrace, this is a first time situation. It may have been that there was a family with young children and they may have been a little bit too euphoric being in Rome. We do always suggest even if it has never happened previously to always advice the front desk for all types of situations. I do presume that in any case it was not untolerable as you state yourself, “noise is tolerable”.
It was a pleasure having you as our guests and hoping to have you once again in the future if you ever decide to come to Rome.

Best regards,
F. severino
