“Stylish hotel in a great location - top rate service too!”
Reviewed 14 April 2013

This hotel is a gem, right next to the vibrant markets of campo de fiori! Rooms are lovely, staff very smart and professional, breakfast room is quirky with lots of delicious food! The roof top garden area is a bonus, buy your goods from the nearby market and share some party time with family or friends al fresco. The area is set up so there are lots of private areas and magnificent views over the city. The hotel is within walking distance to all the sites such as the colosseum so no need to worry about transport. Another bonus is the excellent laundry service, my husband and I paid just 20 euros for a large bag of washing, including shirts, pants, tshirts and underwear. We paid the same amount to do our own washing in a laundromat in Venice and had to waste a precious holiday hour doing so. A great hotel with lots of extra services available. The hotel also organised a guide to take us around the Vatican, which was a great way to go.

Room Tip: Some rooms have a balcony, which is pleasant and doesn't cost any more.

Dear Guest,
Your title covers all aspects of a stay, hotel, location and services. Your title is very clear,
“Stylish hotel in a great location - top rate service too!”
You state that the hotel is a gem and the hotel as a gem is not big but as most gems it is precious and beautiful. Location plus beauty plus facilities plus services equals a perfect vacation that will remain with you for the rest of ones’ life!
As I read stated by you,
“Rooms are lovely, staff very smart and professional, breakfast room is quirky with lots of delicious food! The roof top garden area is a bonus.”
Our staff organizes all for our guests always keeping in mind to keep the budget as low as possible and having our guests receive the max as possible. As you have indicated,
“excellent laundry service, my husband and I paid just 20 euros for a large bag of washing, including shirts, pants, tshirts and underwear. We paid the same amount to do our own washing in a laundromat in Venice and had to waste a precious holiday hour doing so. A great hotel with lots of extra services available.”
Our staff also suggests to do the private guided tours this way one receives the max that they can for the limited time they have staying in Rome.
“The hotel also organised a guide to take us around the Vatican, which was a great way to go.”
Thanking you for your kind words,
F. Severino

I had been many times to Rome, stayed in various hotels and was always disappointed. At last, after my stay in HCF I can attest that I have found a decent hotel in the city. The location is wonderful, on a quiet square, right in the busiest part of the historic city. Everything - market, restaurants, bars, shops, sights - right at hand.
Our room (301) was not very large but tastfully furnished, very well equiped with everything clean, tasteful and and functioning. The room had two windows facing the square which was very nice - and when the windows were closed there was absolutely no noise from the street. The small public areas are very nicely decorated and breakfast is quite satisfactory. The staff was friendly and helpful and the price reasonable (but they told us our room was an upgrade).
What more can one ask from a small hotel in Rome?

Just back from Rome where my family (3 kids) stayed for 6 nights. The hotel was very good, rooms are a little on the small side but the beds (twins pushed together) are extremely comfortable. The breakfast was good. The staff are so helpful and friendly, Valentina and Adam helped us a lot with tours etc. They even managed to get us tickets for the Pope's audience last week which was so wonderful. The location of the hotel is perfect, we walked absolutely everywhere and yes a good pair of shoes are important in Rome (plus an umbrella). The only fault I had was with the noise level outside on the street and on Fri / Sat night there was a lot of that - teenagers drinking and shouting. Bring a pair of ear plugs if you are a light sleeper and do not open the windows.
The restaurants on the square are more expensive, so do try elsewhere, Paola's around the corner was a real experience, no menus or bills and by the way cash is king - everywhere....

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back if you are a light sleeper (although the view onto the street is nice)

Just returned from staying 4 nights at Hotel Campo De'Fiori. Room very clean, decor amazing and quiet. The staff very helpful and friendly. Location perfect for visiting Rome. Take a good pair of shoes as most attractions are easily reached on foot from the hotel or by local inexpensive buses if you dont want to walk.

Room Tip: Inside rooms are quieter. We had 402 the one in the brochure with the sunflowers!

Dear guest,
Your review is short but precise! You stayed with us for 4 nights meaning you were able to judge all with calm and it is pleasing to read that you appreciated that our rooms are very clean, the furnishings are elegant and at the same moment offer modern comforts. Our rooms are all quiet having sound proof windows.
Our staff is always ready to assist, suggest and help all of our guests in all manners being each guest considered a one on one situation with all having different necessities and needs. The location is also amazing being right in the most central part of Rome and all of the monuments are within walking distances.
To sum up your ideas I have indicated some hereunder,
“Room very clean, decor amazing and quiet”. “staff very helpful and friendly” “Location perfect for visiting Rome.” “attractions are easily reached on foot from the hotel”.
Having these few words you were able to specify all of the important aspects that a hotel needs to make ones stay not a normal vacation but an experience.
Best regards,
F. Severino

My wife and I returned from Rome recently, and our stay there was enhanced by this hotel. Its location is wonderful–you step out each day into the markets of the Campo Dei Fiori–and the hotel staff is warm and helpful. The rooms are a bit small, but that's the way things are for moderately priced hotels in Europe.

Dear Guest,
Your title is an indication of your stay in Rome,
“Wonderful hotel, wonderful location”
With these four words you have said it all regarding your stay in Rome and with us!
Our hotel a Boutique Hotel situated in a historical building dating back to the 1400’s in one of Rome’s most central as well as trendy locations sees to it that your vacation becomes unforgettable. Our staff, the icing on the cake sees to it that you do feel at home.
“the hotel staff is warm and helpful.”
Regarding the rooms, well one must always keep in consideration that you are in the most historical part of Rome and there are laws that obligate to maintain the sizes and colours of the buildings and rooms and therefore this is why all hotels located in the centre of historical cities have normal sized rooms and not big rooms. If one seeks size then one needs to go out on the outskirts of the cities but then is it really worth it economically as well as time wasting wise? I don’t think so but all is an opinion. As you state,
“but that's the way things are for moderately priced hotels in Europe.”
Thank you for your review,
Best regards,
F. Severino

We stayed at the Hotel Campo de' Fiori based on the high ratings in TripAdvisor. We found it to have an incredibly helpful staff, clean and nicely appointed rooms and the best part of the hotel is it's very good central location. From the hotel you can walk to Piazza Navona, Forum / Colosseum, shopping areas, good restaurants / bars, Trastevere area, and on. Roof top deck is really nice when the weather is good, great place to rest up / hang out with great views. Only drawbacks for us were the breakfast (not too much) and rooms are pricey (but think that is the case for being in this part of Rome). You can compensate on the breakfast by going to the incredible fruit / vegetable market that is in the square outside the hotel every morning.

stayed in room 502, which is on the top floor-it's the green room. the room, like all in rome, i suppose, is small. but it was immaculately clean and the bed was comfortable, and you dont go to rome to stay in the room. there is a good, hot shower, as well.

the location is key- the campo is a very short walk- like 5 minutes, to the pantheon and piazza navona. it isnt much further to the vatican, and also within walking distance of trevi fountain and spanish steps. the campo itself is a great location, with its morning market and nighttime scene (think bars, restaurants, and a few shops). true that the campo isnt exactly quiet, but the noise dies down around 11pm and the room's soundproofing helps a great deal. the 3 minutes of church bells every night at 7 is that one sound that you will remember as the soundtrack of your stay.

breakfast is very good, although the eggs are so-so. the coffee and pastries and blood-orange juice are delightful. the desk is staffed 24 hrs a day, and the staff is generally helpful and fluent in english. there was a problem with the taxi service we had arranged through the hotel, in that we waited for over an hour for them at e airport, and ultimately decided to get our own ride, which is the easiest thing to do at the airport anyway. by the time we arrived at the hotel, our driver was belatedly calling the hotel looking for us, and there was some reluctance on the part of the desk staff to remove the charge from our bill. as with rome in general, you have to be firm sometimes, and this initial experience did not detract from our trip or our stay at the hotel.

the rooftop terrace is gorgeous.

would definitely stay at this hotel again, and we can recommend it without reservation (well, you do need reservations, of course- you know what i mean.)
