“Perfect hotel in a perfect lcoation”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 August 2008

This is a lovely hotel in a very convenient location. I would not however recommend the apartments owned by this hotel. Be sure to request the 'hotel' location. The hotel is nicely decorated and very clean with a roof top terrace and lovely breakfast room in the basement. It is steps away from the piazza Campo De' Fiori where there are nice shops, restaurants and daily market Monday to Saturday. This seems to be where the night life happens as well. Most attractions in Rome are a relatively short distance away. The helpful staff is on duty at the front desk 24 hours/day.

We staid for 2 nights in the Appartment No 8. When I checked in, I mentioned one of the earlier reviews where the writer complained about the scaffolding and extreme noise. The check in person was very apologetic and just felt bad about it. Ok, we had more look. It was a tiny, cozy appartment, directly accessible from the Campo. Great location ! After climbing all the stairs to the top floor, we get into the appartment and loved it. Nice bedrooom (not facing the Campo), small kitchen and a small extra room with a sofa/table. Oh, of course also a bathroom where we had to get used to the shower but that was ok, remembering that we paid 120 Euro/night. Rome at that point of time was a steaming oven with temparatures above 30 degrees Celsius, not really cooling off during the nights. As a consequence we slept with an open window and were only disturbed by the wailing of an old woman during the 2nd night. There is a small aircondition in the appartment (really small) and a ventilator which could help to drop the temparatur by one or two deegrees. Having said this, the location is just great and this is now my 3rd in the Campo de' Fiori. I can only recommend it.

Great position, comfortable rooms and lovely roof terrace. Very friendly, helpful staff. It was more expensive than we usually pay but was worth the money. We'd love to go back.

This hotel is in a perfect, lively location. The hotel itself is nicely decorated and has a spectacular roof deck where you can see all of Rome. The rooms and breakfast area were very clean and the staff was super helpful and spoke both Italian and perfect English. Even though the area was packed and fun at night the hotel seemed to be soundproof. I highly recommend this hotel. It is within walking distance to every major tourist site and close to a major bus stop.

  • Liked — Roof Deck!!!

My husband and I stayed at this hotel during our first trip to Rome. We loved it. The price was higher than we initially wanted to pay but we agreed upon getting there that it was well worth it.

It was super comfortable with beautiful decor, helpful and pleasant staff, a nice breakfast buffet, amazing roof deck views, and a fantastic location. It was surprisingly quiet in the room, despite the central locale. They did a great job insulating the rooms from any noise. You could open your windows and hear milling crowds and vespas, but once you closed the windows it was dead silent.

We would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone. You can't beat the location, and it was a great place to unwind at the end of each day.

I just spent two days at the Hotel Camp De' Fiori in Rome, which enjoys an absolutely ideal location around the corner from Campo de' Fiori, providing easy access to Rome's many delights. The hotel itself is beautiful in a cozy way, and the room I had was a nice mixture of modern conveniences (flat screen TV) and elegant furnishings. My only quibble is my check-in experience. Having booked a room in advance, I was told when I arrived that only an apartment was available. The apartment I was taken to was on the other side of the square, on the third floor of the building with no elevator, and lacking a telephone-- far inferior to the hotel rooms. I was able to wangle my way back into the hotel, but only after repeated insistence. If you go, try to deal with Tommy, who not only engineered my room in the hotel, but helped me with restaurant reservations and gave great advice on where and when to go to different places, all with good humor.

This hotel was fantastic among the best I have stayed in, especially for Europe. Very friendly staff, comfortable beds, "lift," contemporary decor and a rooftop terrace with unbeatable views of Rome. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

  • Liked — The rooftop terrace and room design.
  • Disliked — Was hard to find at first so we had to take a cab.
