This museum has an entire room devoted to the Metaphysical Art of Giorgio de Chirico, as well as works by other important Surrealist artists. Before you even get to them, you walk on the cracked mirror floor just past the ticket counter. That is a surreal experience! They also have a lovely outdoor eating area, very enjoyable when the weather is good. You may also sit inside in a white-walled, neo-classical-ish interior. Big de Chirico fans can see more of his work at the Museo Carlo Bilotti in the Borghese Gardens. Near the Modern & Contemporary Art Museum is the Villa Giulia National Etruscan Museum which I also recommend.
