“Impressive Modern & Contemporary Art”
Reviewed 9 April 2014

This museum has an entire room devoted to the Metaphysical Art of Giorgio de Chirico, as well as works by other important Surrealist artists. Before you even get to them, you walk on the cracked mirror floor just past the ticket counter. That is a surreal experience! They also have a lovely outdoor eating area, very enjoyable when the weather is good. You may also sit inside in a white-walled, neo-classical-ish interior. Big de Chirico fans can see more of his work at the Museo Carlo Bilotti in the Borghese Gardens. Near the Modern & Contemporary Art Museum is the Villa Giulia National Etruscan Museum which I also recommend.

“A fantastic gallery”
Reviewed 7 April 2014 via mobile

A brilliant gallery showing a wide variety of modern art. Perhaps a little expensive to get in but there were no queues, no crowds, and we had uninterrupted views of all of the art works.

“Not to be missed!!!”
Reviewed 1 April 2014

Rome does have a lot of antique and old treasures but this museum (which is a 15 minute walk from the Villa Borghese) should not be missed no matter how short a visit to Rome you make. Most of the art is early 20th century, some older, some more modern with several works by master of Impressionist art and their Italian counterparts.
Thrill to the discovery of artists you have never heard of and see more works by some that you do know. This is a good-size museum with treasures that can compare to almost any other museum. A few quiet hours and a break in the coffee shop.
You will enjoy your visit!

“Superb Museum”
Reviewed 10 February 2014

We walked up to this museum from Repubblica - about a 20 minute walk, for which you'll need a map. Had free entry as well, having bought the Roma Pass. Well-laid out galleries, with a vast range of art from early 19thC to the most recent. Everyone from Warhol to Gauguin, by way of Mondrian and van Gogh. Very pleasant restaurant as well, and an easy stroll back to Flaminio Metro stop. Well worth the visit, as well as being in some lovely gardens, which of course were not up to much in February, but will be worth a visit in April/May.

“Good museum, alternative to Rome's History attractions”
Reviewed 2 January 2014 via mobile

There are interesting and valuable pieces. Cafe seems good. A walk at Borghese Park after the visit made us feel we were away from The crowds for a couple hours.
