Close to the termini station, makes it easy (and cheap) to get to from the airport, really is less than a 10 min walk, and only another 10 minutes or so to the colisseum.
Unusual layout as the hotel is actually part of an old apartment block and is accessed on the first floor (you will find it on the name plate and buzz to get in), but it is immaculately clean and a welcome quiet off the noise of the street. The staff were amazingly friendly and helpful, and supplied a bottle of prosecco in the room with a birthday card on my request for our arrival for my husbands birthday.
Our room was again immaculately clean, not very big but perfectly adequate, with safe, built in wardrobes and a really large en suite bathroom. The breakfast was much better than others I've experienced with cornflakes, delicious pastries, eggs, fruit, yoghurt, cheese and ham and they were also able to advise me on what I could have gluten free and I was well catered for.
We would definately stay again.
Other tips - we flew easy jet and found the return bus tickets they sold on the plane to be excellent value compared to others (can also be purchased at bus stop 1 at the airport), the restaurant opposite the hotel is very good with great food at much better value than we found elsewehere, purchase a Roma ticket from tourist info and use this to skip the queues at the colisseum (saving at least a few hrs!) and includes 3 days free public transport around the city and discounts for other places, pre-book tickets for the Vatican Museum if you can (save another 2-3hrs queuing) or if not don't follow the advice of going first thing in the morning on a lot of websites - everyone does and when we came out about lunch time after queuing 2 hrs to get in after getting there early and the queue was no longer than half an hr (for weekdays anyway). Trastevere is lovely in the evening for street entertainers and a great atmosphere but it is the area immediately the other side of the river, not further in where the bus stops actually say Trastevere - we made this mistake and ended up in very residential areas with nothing there initially. If you're coeliac or gluten intolerant don't worry - all the restaurants we went to understood what it was and only one didn't have gluten free pasta as an option.
