Andrea and staff were great in helping me navigate my first time in Rome. The room and bath was immaculate with Turkish cotton sheets and towels. The location can't be beat for attractions and buses on the Via National one block over.
Great value for money. I will be back.

Hotel Italia is a family-run establishment at 18, Via Venezia, in Rome, just off the Via Nationale. This hotel is close, but not too close, to the Termini train station. It's an easy walk from the train station to the hotel even when dragging a suitcase behind, but beyond the seedier establishments closer to the Termini Station. The Republica Metro Station is an easy walk from Hotel Italia, and there are convenient bus stops on the Via Nationale. There is an ATM close to the hotel as well as a bakery, grocery store, and several restaurants. A European continental breakfast is served each morning along with cappuccino or the coffee type of your choice. The rooms are clean, the staff is friendly and courteous, and price is reasonable. Give this hotel a try. I've stayed here twice -- once in 2013 and most recently in March 2014 -- and I highly recommend it.

Hotel Italia is a very simple, older hotel but it is all you need for a few nights stay. Great breakfasts, wifi in the lobby, and very small but simple rooms. It is very central to all the main sights and not even a far walk from many of them if you want to be on your feet. We only took the rapid transit once and walked the rest. For the price you'll enjoy your stay.

Ciao Andrea and your team! I would like to thank you for your job to make the people feel positive staying in your hotel. You do your best to support in everything and I'm appreciative for this. Each time I go to Roma I choose only this hotel due to I know that the hotel has a very good location: close to all famous sightseeings, Termini station and via Nazionale for someone who likes Max Mara;) I really recommend this hotel to everyone and I'm sure that nobody will be disappointed! Ciao ciao***

This hotel is well placed for a city break in Rome. It's near the Termini station where you can either take a train or bus from Fiumicino Airport to the Termini and then take the short walk to the Hotel (bus is cheaper and only takes a 10 mins longer but was fully booked when we tried). The hotel room was small (no 4) but met our needs, it was clean and we felt the rate was good so no real complaints except the room was very hot and leaving the window open meant it was noisy. It was great for local restaurants e.g. La Carbonara and La Girasole the latter is new and we really enjoyed the food, entertainment (pianist) and very reasonable menu and drink prices. As other reviewers have said its close to all the key sites, most of which are walking distance and it's great fun to stole back past all the shops, bars and restaurants. We enjoyed our stay in Rome and the Hotel Italia played its part in our enjoyment!

Room Tip: Some rooms are smaller than others so suggest you request a bigger room than No 4 when you book!

We started our holiday at Hotel Italia again this time (from December 13) and it felt a bit like 'dropping in on friends'. Everyone was as helpful and friendly as last time, including being ready for our arrival at around 11:00 at night. Again the driver organised for us was courteous and ready to go when we staggered off the plane!

Breakfasts were as filling and pleasant as ever - the ladies in the breakfast room are always ready to welcome you and to prepare your preferred beverage and deliver it with a smile. We had a smaller room this time, without a bath, but the bathroom was well organised and cleverly designed to make the most of the space. And the room overall was a good size and very well set out and maintained and the bed was large and incredibly comfortable.

So many attractions are within easy walking distance, and the folk at Hotel Italia are always happy to tell you the best way to get where you want to go. Sabrina kindly organised a booking number for us at the Galleria Borghese this time which meant we could arrive at our chosen time and not stand in a queue, and we could still use our Roma pass to cover our visit.

Thank you once again Andrea, Sabrina, Abdul and everyone else at Hotel Italia. You got us off to a happy flying start for our trip.

We will return...again.
Jill and Mark

Room Tip: Next time I'd make a point of asking for a room with a bathtub - it's a nice way to soak out...
