Just came across this deli by chance and boy am I glad we did.
They've got coffees, teas, oils, vinegars and everything else you'd want to take back a little bit of Italy with you home.
We got the beans and their own Nespresso pods (as well as some interesting "tea" pods!) as well as some delicious Balsamic vinegar - and have been enjoying them ever since.
Great place to get some stuff for your pantry and as little gifts to all those waiting back at base!
There was a good variety of food from all over the world. Coffee was delicious that we ended up purchasing Castroni coffee beans to take home. Daughter loved packaged Italian muffins (with hazelnut cream). Since it was close to Easter, there was a tempting display of Easter chocolate, eggs, bunnies, you name it, they probably had it.
If you can't find it here it doesn't exist - food wise - country wise - this place is a haven for the best of the best from every country starting of course with Italy - just browse - it will take you a while
When you enter Castroni you get stunned by coffee aroma and smell
You can not resist but to buy some coffee and chocolate and more drone a wide range of food items
Ok they do have WiFi main reason I entered here. HOWEVER, wow I was blown away by the sheer variety of gourmet international foods offered here. Each room has a specialty. From all the teas, coffees, marmalade’s, honeys, gluten free section, meats, pastas, a whole room of spices from around the world, caviar, specialty foods from Japan, chocolates I’d never even seen (and I travel extensively, albeit maybe not as much as Castroni buyers) rooms by country, and the very friendly staff to assist. People watching here is a MUST. You will be surprised who shops here. From the Mexican drug lords on family vacations (Shhh!) to international jet setters, to the wayward tourists, etc. You won’t be disappointed. Prices are not bad considering you won’t have to expend airfare to all the countries you will be visiting gastronomically. Do yourself a favor and stop in. Oh yeah! You can also get a pretty good cup of coffee! This place is probably why there are no Starbucks in Italy...
This shop offers a huge array of foods- we bought some delicious sweets and chocolate covered coffee beans. All €2 for 100g so not expensive, and completely delicious.
