“A good apartment in a nice area away from Rome city”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 February 2013

This is a nice & well priced apartment away from the city. The room is complete with everything, it even have 2 LCD TVs, free wifi, toiletries, slippers, a complete kitchen with microwave & an electric kettle for boiling water. The towels are changed and the room were cleaned everyday. It comes with a big balcony, but since it's winter, we didn't sit outside a lot, maybe in the summer it is nice to sit & have dinner there. I've read a lot about the loud noise or music there, but we didn't have any problem. We heard some music sound but it is too soft to disturb us. We slept like babies all the 3 nights we were there, and mind you we were there on friday, saturday & sunday.

The staff are nice & friendly, and they also speaks English. We were greeted by a young nice lady. She was helpful in showing us where to eat, where the train stations are, provide us with a map, telling us places of interest & other stuffs a tourist needs. Wish i could remember her name. Anyway gratzie mille Bella! :)

The apartment is actually not in Trastevere, but near Testaccio. This is actually the highlight of our stay at Lungotevere Suite. Testaccio is a beautiful neighborhood, lots of wet markets, restaurants, cafes, bars, shops, supermarkets, etc...and they are cheaper than around the Rome city area. This is what we wanted anyway, living among the locals, get to know them and experience the culture, not like the tourist areas, where you have more foreigners living there than the locals. We met a lot of locals here, made some new friends and ate some good italian food!

The metro, trams, buses are just walking distances, but there are times when we walk to our destination, heck we even walk to The Vatican in the rain! Along the way we discover a street market which sells cheap leather goods, souvenirs, t-shirts, cheese, local foods and more. This is by far the cheapest in Rome that we've found! The street market is so long i think we covered about 1km by the time we reached the end. Oh and there are Police patrolling along the street market, so don't worry about nothing. By the way, don't forget to bargain, you are allowed here.

All in all, i am happy we chose this place. Like a lot of people said here, if u don't mind the distant, this is a good and value for money place to stay. Mind you, this is our first ever visit to Italy and Europe, and we don't have any problems staying a bit far from the city center. We do get lost sometimes, but that's where the fun begins! You discover so much when you're lost, even about yourself and your mates. You definitely can't buy that :). So what are you waiting for, LETS GET LOST!!

Thank you for your compliments for the hotel and to our staff , to know to be appreciated is the true reason to continue improving. Regarding the access to the center of Rome, big news : in the month of March 2013 tram nr. 8 will be extended from the stop at 100 meters from lungoteveresuite and in 12 min it will links you to piazza venezia in the heart of Rome.
We wait for you at your next visit to Rome!

The hotel is nice with very cooperative staff. The rooms are large enough and with essential utensils. One in all a real value for money. Also, the location is very close to Roma Trastavere regional station so no big worries for travellers.

My husband and I stayed here for two nights during our trip to Rome and around Italy. We booked only a couple days in advance because we skipped a trip to Venice. I wasn't thrilled about the immediate neighborhood which seemed a little sketchy, but the train station was a 5 min walk, so it's easy to use public transit to get to the cool Trastevere neighborhood. New building, spacious room, nice bathroom, good wifi. The front desk girl helped us call & make dinner reservations (which are highly recommended for busy Fri/Sat nights). Great views from our balcony. However, there is a music venue directly across the river that plays quite loud and well into the night (3am) which was a little annoying. I missed seeing this comment from other reviewers since we booked in a hurry.

Thanks for your post and your review. As right noted from you we are in a great position to reach the centre and all the main interest points in Rome.
We are nearby to Testaccio and Trastevere and sometimes in the opposite side of the river there is a music party during week end nights. As you know, our building is totally new and there are double windows to avoid the noise form outside.
We will be glad to have you as our guest in the future!
Come back to visit us and our new beaty centre.
Regards
Silvia

If you don't mind staying a bit outside the hustle and bustle of central Rome, then this location is fine. It is set in a residential area near the Trasvetere train station. The area is clean and quiet but load music can be expected during evening (ear plugs are provided in room...). Some great authentic Italian restaurants nearby, where prices are significantly lower than in central Rome - you can eat well in local restaurants for 10-15 EUR. In 20 mins you can be in the heart of Rome (10 mins walk from hotel to train station and 10 mins by tram no. 8 to central Rome near Pantheon). Also, from the train station you can go directly to Fiumicino airport in 30 mins.

The hotel has both apartments and regular rooms. The rooms are fairly small but has the basics you need. Comfortable bed, a desk, fridge, new aircondition, sound proof walls and a fast internet connection. No coffee maker or water boiler, which would have been nice. But room is modern and clean and has a balcony attached (when staying in regular rooms, balconies don't come with chairs/tables though). It is very reasonably priced compared to those of central Rome. I would recommend it for those who are travelling on a budget and prefer new hotel rooms - and don't mind staying a tram ride away from the city center.

We arrived and was met by nothing but smile and helpful assitance from the front desk. The rooms where clean, light and fairly basic, but good value for money. The balcony a major selling point had great views, the only dissapointment was that there was not furniture to enjoy the balcony, so a little pointless to have a great view and be sitting on the floor. I noted that on the balconies for the apartments there was furniture. This was a let down. However we found great places to eat in on the bridge across from the hotel a short walk and walked nearly everywhere. For people who want to enjoy Rome and who like to walk this is a great location. We did wonder about the earplugs in the bathroom, however on Saturday night and monday night the music was extremely loud, luckily it was only those two days during our stay. It would have been nice to have been told prior to arrival that the restaurant and bar was closed.

I was not disappointed with the Lungotevere Suite, except, maybe the location. From the maps when I booked online it seemed to be in Trastevere but it ended up being a tram away (which was no problem really when you worked them out!)
Our balcony was huge and looked over the river, albeit that the trees hid most of the water! The apartment itself was roomy for 3 adults.
I must say that most nights we had very loud music playing outside or across the river.....first night it was fine but 3 nights in a row got a bit much.
The reception staff were always helpful and we found a fantastic little cafe down one of the side streets which had the most amazing coffee and pastries. We were there every morning.

Thanks for your comments. We are happy you spent good time here at Lungotevere.
We are sorry for the music outside, but during the summer time there are a lot of events and concerts everywhere in the city.
Lets' hope to see you also in the winter time.

I would like to say that the apartment was fantastic. The location was great, the staff was awesome. The only negative (and this was a big one for me) was the dance party music coming from a bar across the river. It was obnoxiously loud and prevented a decent nights sleep. The music would go on until about 4am and it was every single night. Due to the music, I actually would strongly advise to not stay there or bring heavy duty earplugs.
