Home from home in a few words. As you'd expect from a boutique hotel...lovely decor, bijou, quirky in all the right places...STOP PRESS...enter Serena and Marco...Wowsers! What a lovely addition and complete surprise. These guys know their trade...I wish they ran every hotel I had to stay with...they helped in all the right ways...what to see, how to spend precious time, where to eat authentic, how to relax (yes several Proseccos of an afternoon...it'd be rude not too!), and how to forget about stuff I wanted to forget about while on a holiday. A truly pleasurable experience. Great breakfast, great banter and hugs when we left! A real breath of fresh air and what seemed like a genuine interest in your well-being and experience. Someone somewhere give these guys more hotels to run they rock and deserve all the best for the effort they put in. (Thank you guys for a fab trip...i'll be telling everyone!). Grazie Mille!!

Well, who am I to break the 5 star trend. This place is fantastic. The couple who own and run this hotel are hard working, caring people who genuinely want you to enjoy their city, and their hotel. This is more like a B&B. There is no lobby. It is very small. You will always be welcomed by the owners when you come back after a day of touring, and while having breakfast. The hotel is spotless clean. Rooms are modern. Location of the hotel is OK. But this review is not about anything but the owners. You will get the best service ever from Marco and Serena. So yes, just as 1000 other reviewers have opined, just stay here. You will not regret it. Service better then the Four Seasons. Room rates are reasonable. It is small and intimate and you will meet plenty of other guests to share your travel adventures with. The owners really care about you. You will be kissing them goodbye, not just simply "checking out".

We don't have anything else to say, than hasn't been written before. The strength of this hotel is in the excellent service - from the moment of check-in to check-out. It was a great start to our Italy trip, and set the stage for a wonderful time.

The title of this review I think probably sums up what you're about to read ... yes, we're all saying the same thing in these reviews ... but that's because it's all absolutely true!

Off the main Via Venetta road is the small but perfectly formed Deko Rome 'hotel'. As soon as we arrived we were greeted by Marco - and what a fantastic host! Prosecco on arrival as well as a good chat and a whistlestop tour of the key places in Rome on the map. I must admit that whilst I was 'listening' to everything Marco said, I wasn't really 'hearing' any of it as I was far too mesmerised by the fabulous Italian accent! Thank goodness for my friend, who thankfully was paying attention! :-)

Marco took the time to chat and share some hidden gems in Rome in the form of fab restaurants and bars - ask about the 'little pizza' place - that I can't remember the name of - in the Trastevere area! :-)

The rooms are clean, modern and fairly spacious. Bathroom is very top of the range IMO. Beds (we had two twins) were a little small but wow, are they comfortable! :-) So no issue at all. Serena always greeted us in the morning with continental breakfast and fabulous Italian Coffee. Top tip - if you want a latte - ask for a latte macchiato! A latte is 'hot milk'! (Which thinking about it is right - but clearly not according to starbucks!!)

Serena and Marco were so personable - and this is the thing I think makes the difference for two reasons; 1) they absolutely love their jobs and it shows and 2) they're 'them' - they aren't trying to put on a formal, stuffy act - they're real people and talk to you as though you've known them for years - this, I feel, is refreshing and far more personable than the 'standard' greetings and 'polite' chit chat at other big established, well known hotels.

So apologies that this is exactly the same as the other reviews you've probably read - but I think it's safe to say, that this really is a great place - hence the 'boring' same, same reviews - ha! But hey, it got to No1. for a reason and long may it stay there!

Ciao!

Back to Rome after an absence of 28 years and what a great place to stay. Clean, warm, safe, well-located and great hosts in Marco, Serena and their small team. With only 3 days to spend, they managed to give us enough ideas to fill each day yet not feel we missed out. Restaurant recommendations were spot on and the breakfast set us up for a full day's walking. The afternoon Prosecco was particularly welcome! Well done all.

This was a girlfriends getaway and Deko Roma was our first stop - we could not have asked for a better place to begin our fantastic adventure. Marco and Serena are warm, welcoming and could not be more accommodating in every sense. Nothing was too much trouble, they took as much time as needed to run through all the good and bad of the city and to provide excellent recommendations, taxi and tour bookings etc. We went to Venice after leaving them and so wished that they had a spot there too - the best way to see Rome is to stay at a place like this where you truly feel that you are staying with friends versus in a hotel. Thanks go to both of them for making a truly memorable start to our travels. WILL ABSOLUTELY BE BACK and would not hesitate to recommend to anyone.

Room Tip: All rooms in Italy are small, but people, place and vibe more than make up for this - plus, you real...
