nicely situated with views of the city and within easy walking distance of the sights. Breakfast was good and the room, although not huge was comfortable. The staff were very helpful. The hotel had just opened and there were one or two minor teething problems but nothing too major,

We stayed at the the Grand Melia from April 20th, departed April 24th, we are a family of 4, the children are 17 & 10. From the time we arrived the staff were exceptional, going out of their way to be helpful and informative, special mention to Thiago-what a guy!. Coming from NZ this is a highly priced hotel but exceptional. We had 2 rooms, 1 double deluxe and 1 twin deluxe, both were lovely. The glass walled bathroom was a bit awkward with kids as one had to come down to our room whilst the other was showering, that is the only negative here-need to provide privacy in twin rooms as it may not always be couples sharing. The beds provided an excellent sleep ensuring we were all well rested for lots of walking the following day. Only 5 minutes walk to vatican city, a nice little resturant at bottom of hill. Breakfast was usual european breakfast, good supply of very fresh fruit, breads, pastries, cheeses. We had a cocktail most nights, beautifully presented-take the time to enjoy the ambience. Free wi-fi in rooms, iPod dock & nespresso coffee all good features. Felt the breakfast a bit over-priced but by joining Gran Melia loyalty club bought it down to 2 for the price of 1. Cocktails expensive but this is 5* and an amazing range of snacks come out as you enjoy your cocktail. This is a truly beautiful place to stay, we all hope one day to return. Only regret: we didn't have time to try out all the facilities such as the restaurants and spa but intend to next time. Thank you Gran Melia we look forward to our return.

The best hotel I ever stayed at! The garden was gorgeous - I can still smell the lemon trees... The room was arranged very light and modern and was super clean. The service was simply perfect with a staff who couldn't do enough for us 24/7! I would also like to thank Saif who really was great. The view from the Gianicolo hill just a few minutes walk away was simply breathtaking! We hope to return soon and wouldn't stay anywhere else in Rome

Worth it. Love it. Excellent.
An absolutely beautiful hotel, in a very good location with staff caring for you 24/7. They greet you with a smiling "Buon giorno" touching their heart - such a nice and warm gesture, every time you meet...
Nice to return to birds singing in the beautiful garden after a day in Romes huzzle and buzzle.
Spa and pool, everything was just stunningly beautiful. We enjoyed the superfresh and rich of choices breakfast, and note that it is included in the price!
It is really a hotel worth its five stars! We will stay there when we return. Every time!

Dear Guest,

we wish to thank you for the time you spent in transmitting us your valuable opinions about your stay at Gran Meliá Rome Villa Agrippina.

We are extremely pleased to realize that you enjoyed your experience at our Luxury Urban Resort and appreciated both our services and our associates' attitude.

We are particularly glad that you noticed our special greeting, through which we aim to transmit to our guests both our warm feelings of welcome and our passion for job.

Like we love to explain to our guests during their stays, it symbolizes the "language of fan" used by the Spanish ladies of the the sixteenth century to express their feelings to their lovers. While greeting our guests, in fact, we wish to transmit them that we have been expecting them, by placing an opened hand over our hearts as the fan was placed in the past.

We are also very happy to hear your positive feedback about your breakfast and spa experiences.

Looking forward to welcoming you again soon, during your next visit to the Eternal City...

Kindest regards,

This was an excellent place to stay in Rome! The hotel was gorgeous and clean and the staff could not do enough for us! Make sure to try the little cafe at the bottom of the hill across the street! Excellent and cheap! One thing about the hotel, although beautiful and great service- the food and drinks were very expensive. So, if you like to be at a hotel where you want to stay and drink and eat, you may want to consider this.
