My partner and I stayed here for 4nights at the end of July. First impressions of the hotel were great. We had arranged an airport transfer with the hotel so they were there to meet us upon our arrival in a very flash Mercedes. Upon arrival we were greeted with a glass of Italian Sparkling Wine and then shown to our room after a quick check in.

The room we stayed in was a Junior Suite and it was HUGE! It had a King Bed with a sofa/living area and two bathrooms one of which had a bathtub. The main bathroom was a little small however still very nice. The bed was extremely comfy, very soft pillows and a fluffy duvet.

The breakfast which is included was sensational...i'm very big on breakfast and I was blown away with the variety that they offered; cereals, yogurt, fruit, cheeses, meats, made to order eggs etc.

The staff were exceptional, helpful and very friendly. The room service and nightly turndown service was great as they provided us with complimentary water and the weather report for the next day.

Overall we were very happy and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the 1st Luxury Hotel. The location was great as it is was within walking distance to all the sights. In case you need to get a train there is a station very close by. It's also located in a quiet street away from the hussle and bussle. The hotel also has a fabulous roof top bar/restaurant which offers amazing views of Rome however the restaurant is quite pricey. Another bonus which helps when travelling, the hotel offers free wifi.

All in all, we loved it and will definitely return when we go back to Rome :)

Room Tip: Go for the Junior Suite.

We enjoyed our stay the first 4 days of August. The hotel is located in a great spot, easy walking to shopping etc. We were traveling with our 2 teenage daughters and were nicely situated in an end junior suite and and adjoining room. Rooms are modern and comfortable. Quite luxe acutally with big marble bathrooms. Beds are comfy and the ac works well which helped us greatly in the heat. Service was quite good and the concierge staff was helpful. Be advised the workout room is not yet open. The downstairs bar had a very accommodating server. Our one bad experience was at the bar rooftop restaurant. We wanted early drinks (7:30) on the upper level and the very unfriendly hostess told us we could not sit as it was reserved at 9. she sat us at a miserable table. I then told her we would leave by 8:30 and she begrudgingly obliged. Afterwards others were allowed to come and sit, clearly friends. I would push for those seats as the view is divine and the servers are quite nice. All in all, I would return in a minute.

We stayed here for only one night in May which was prior to a Med. cruise but really wished we could have stayed longer. The view from the rooftop deck is spectacular and would have loved to have cocktails up there, so we must go back again one day to experience that. The location is fantastic as it is close to great shopping on the Via del Corso and also walking distance to very popular restos such as Gusto and Ad hoc. The decor is understated and elegant. Only complaint is that the room is a bit small, but the comfortable bed and luxurious accessories definitely make up for that.

Myself and my wife stayed at the hotel for a night in August. We arrived at the hotel and was greeted with a nice free glass of wine. We were then taken to our amazing room which the hotel had upgraded free of charge. The staff were very helpful and all spoke very good english. You can hire electric cars from the hotel which are great fun!!!

The hotel staff also printed all my tickets for our tour the next day. We had food at the rooftop bar, which has amazing views. I cannot stress how nice a hotel this is and well worth the money.

We stayed for three nights in a Junior Suite, that was great. The staff was very friendly and upgraded us the accommodation in no time, as we refused to stay in a connecting Standard Room that were much too small and, above all, connected to another room. Beginning with the room - furniture, pillows, amenities, decoration - then the big bathroom, continuing with the bar from the lobby and of course, the location near Piaza del Poppolo, all were excellent for a Rome tourist. Thus, I would have liked the breakfast in the restaurant from the roof. Maybe in the future it will be...
I would definitely recommend this hotel to others and stay there again.

Room Tip: Junior suites are excellent for couples!

We stayed for three nights in late July, 2012. We had three rooms -- two junior suites and a bigger art suite. Overall, this is a very nice hotel. The furnishings and rooms are beautiful. If that is your priority (nice, comfortable, beautiful, first-class rooms), this is your place. Also a great location--very central to everything. And the manager and staff were very helpful. I relied on the concierge a lot for reservations, directions, train tickets, etc. The desk staff performed really well. The bar is also lovely for a drink before going out in the evening.

Here are a few drawbacks to consider, depending on your tastes and needs. The hotel is an "art" hotel, which means there is art scattered around. Some of it is funky and a bit odd, so that might put off some people. Fine for us and our kids, but not if you're looking for old world elegance.

In addition, the hotel does not own the restaurant on the roof. The breakfast is excellent each morning, but it is served in the lobby-level eating area. The rooftop is beautiful but leased to an asian restaurant that seemed essentially impossible to get into. That's a drawback. If you typically like eating lunch or dinner at your hotel, this won't be the place for you. It wasn't an issue for us because there are many very good restaurants close by.

Finally, there is no fitness center or pool.

That's it. Again, the rooms are beautiful. This is a very nice option in Rome, and we would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: I don't think there are bad rooms in this hotel.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for selecting The First Luxury Art Hotel Rome for your recent stay.

We are delighted you took the time to post your feedback on Tripadvisor and thankful for your comments.
It is our pleasure to see your positive comments regarding the rooms and furnishings. Please allow me to highlight that, as you most befittingly point out, the concept of this property alludes to a contemporary art gallery with artworks on display in all areas. It is understandable that contemporary art is not to everyone’s liking but it is nevertheless the distinguishing feature that makes The First Luxury Art hotel unique.
On a different note, we were most concerned to see your comments, outlining the disappointment you experienced regarding the roof top restaurant. Our fusion restaurant that offers breathtaking views of the Eternal city has proved to be very popular during the summer months. To that end, we advise our valued guests that reservations are necessary. It goes without saying that our guests have the absolute priority when it comes to our hotel facilities.
As a last point we are pleased to inform you that we are in the process of finalizing the plans for the ultimate on-site urban spa retreat and fitness centre.

We do apologise for the inconvenience caused due to the issues that you brought to our attention and hope that you will give us the opportunity to welcome you back in the not so distant future.
In the meantime, we would like to thank you for your comments as it is only by receiving such information that we are better able to rectify and resolve any problems that we may have.
You may contact me directly when planning a future trip in order that I can personally make the necessary arrangements to ensure that your next stay is a comfortable and enjoyable one.
We look forward to welcoming you again in the not so distant future.

Kind Regards

We stayed in June and had two adjoining rooms (art suite and junior suite), both of which were lovely - if I had to state a preference it would be the Junior Suite. Gorgeous and modern hotel in an excellent area. Quiet street and fantastic breakfast buffet (ours was included in our room rates). Would definitely stay again and highly recommend. The only comment would be that one of our rooms had a lovely bath with a hand held shower attachment, but no actual stand up shower. I had confirmed that both rooms had showers before we arrived, but I found many of the hotels in Italy seem to have this set up and consider it a shower. We all ended up using the one actual stand-up shower and not the bath which was a bit of a nuisance, but did not take away from our experience overall - although it may have if we had stayed longer. Just be sure to confirm a proper stand up shower if this is important to you.

Beautifully designed boutique hotel with everything one could ask for.
