“Thanks for the travelers ranking”
Reviewed 26 January 2014

I have chosen to stay in this hotel during my last visit to Rome based on travelers ranking it #41 of 1,266 hotels. I can only agree that this is a great place to stay if you want to have an excellent location in the center of Rome, close to Campo de’ Fiori, Piazza Navona and Largo Argentina. The surrounding streets are very narrow so you want be troubled by the traffic.
Last year the hotel has been redecorated to the 4 star standard and build on the remains of the walls of the Theatre of Pompeius from 55 B.C.
The rooms are very comfortable with spacious bathrooms. Breakfast is served in a small hotel restaurant that doubles as a bar in the evening but you can find plenty of restaurants only a few steps away for your lunch and dinner.
The hotel staff is friendly and will provide excellent service that makes you feel welcome.

Room Tip: Bring your swimsuit with you and enjoy the SPA area.

My wife and I just returned from a five day stay at the Hotel Lunetta. We are so glad we chose to stay here. The staff was so friendly and helpful and I wish to specially commend Carlo and Roberto for their helpfulness and courtesy which enhanced our trip to Rome. The hotel is modern, yet its walls include parts of the Theater of Pompey from 55 B.C. which stood on this site. This is amazing architecture that Italy does so well. Our room (104) overlooked Piazza Paradiso, not the quietest location in the hotel, but fine for us. The room had good amenities, but lacked any kind of dresser or drawer space. Bathroom was adequate. The shower was great with a showerhead directly over you giving a rainfall effect. Housekeeping and turndown service was impeccable.

The hotel has a wonderful spa, with a small swimming pool, steam, sauna and massage services. It is located in the lower level, which also wonderfully encompasses the walls of the old Roman era theater. A complimentary buffet breakfast is served from 7:30 to 10:30. We thought it was very good, with lots of fresh fruit, cereals, breads, scrambled eggs, cheeses, ham, smoked salmon, juices, etc. Plenty of variety and everything was very fresh and continually replenished.

The hotel's location is great - very near Campo Di Fiori and Piazza Farnese - only a 5 min. walk to Piazza Navona - 10 min. walk to Jewish ghetto - 15 min. walk to the Forum, Pantheon , Piazza Venezia and Castel St. Angelo. Countless restaurants, shops, bakeries, bars in the immediate area. We would definitely choose to stay here again when we return to Rome.

Pros:
very serviceable and helpful staff
Modern, Clean look
Excellent location
Free Wi-fi

Cons:
Small Room
Breakfast wasn't great

We stayed at Hotel Lunetta for 3 nights in December. At the front desk, the staff was extremely helpful. We arrived around noon and were able to check in without a problem. They provided us with restaurant recommendations and a map of the city, highlighting the main sites.

We got room 211, which is towards the back of the hotel and a bit of a maze to get to, but that made it a little charming. The room was very small, which is not terribly surprising in a large European city. The bathroom, however, was quite roomy. There were slippers and bathrobes for us which was a nice perk and the decor was modern and quite nice.

You can't beat the location. It is excellent. It is right in the heart of old Rome and walking distance to all major attractions. It is just a couple minutes walking, from Piazza Navona and the Pantheon, 20 minutes from the Colosseum and, in the other direction, 20 minutes from the Vatican.

If there's one knock on this hotel, its that the breakfast was nothing to write home about. The breakfast area was very small. The food, itself was fine, your average selection of breads, cheese, deli meats, cereal and eggs. That being said, the area being small wasn't a real problem for us. We went in December, so the hotel wasn't super crowded, but I can see how it would be a hassle during high season.

Other than that, Hotel Lunetta is an excellent choice.

Walking distance from everything, surrounded by little cafés and bakeries. Staff is fantastic. Hotel and rooms are very well maintained. Excellent breakfast. Would recommend to anyone.
This hotel is the ideal place for a romantic Roma gateway. The swimming pool is a rare gem inside Rome.
Fantastico!

What a gem! We had reservations at a hotel around the corner from Hotel Lunetta. When we arrived at that property, we were so disappointed that we decided not to stay. We had passed by the Hotel Lunetta and thought it looked so very nice, so we stopped in to see if they had any rooms available. We were delighted that they did and enjoyed 4 wonderful nights. Beautiful, well appointed room - small by American standards, but more than adequate for our needs. They had the best shower of any hotel we had stayed at in the world! A lovely rooftop bar where we enjoyed a glass of wine and tasty snacks served by Federico each night. Extremely helpful, courteous and professional staff. Spotlessly clean. We can't wait for our next trip to Rome. We will stay at the Hotel Lunetta again.

rowdy drunken guests inside and loitering drunks outside hotel make it impossible to enjoy a good night's sleep.
Popular with weekend visitors from outside Rome who are rowdy and extremely loud.
Nearby night club causes loud disturbances outside the hotel until very late into the evening
No security evident in or surrounding the hotel - .
Nice staff
clean rooms

We recently stayed at Hotel Lunetta, and had a wonderful time. Even though it was November, the rooftop bar was delightful and we enjoyed all that this hotel had to offer. Location can't be beat if you are a first timer to Rome - close to everything!
