“Perfect Stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 June 2013

We stayed at the Domus Quirtium for four nights in June and were delighted with the room, service and breakfast. The location is in a real neighborhood--the Pratti--close to the center of Rome, but a neighborhood where Romans actually live. In ten minutes you can walk to the Vatican or across any number of bridges to the historical center which is great. But when you return to the hotel area you get a sense of quiet and relaxation that is hard to find in the historic center of Rome which is so crowded with tourists. It was a pleasure to walk "home" each day. Lucilla is a wonderful hostess and goes out of her way to make your stay perfect. Vera was also extremely friendly and helpful with ideas and tips. The restaurant recommendations were wonderful, especially the amazing pizza place around the corner (the best we had in Italy by far). The room was comfortable with high ceilings and lots of sunlight, clean, and cool with the ac on. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfasts were plentiful. Thanks Lucilla for a wonderful stay. We will return.

Dear B&D,

thanks a lot for your review! I'm very happy that you enjoyed your stay and that you loved the Prati area (we think this is the best place where to live in Rome!!!).

Waiting for your next anniversary I wish you plenty of happiness :)

After we stayed at Domus Quiritum on a trip to Rome last year, we vowed to return for our wedding this year! and that we did. Over the last year, Lucilla and Alessio have gone above and beyond to help us plan the perfect wedding week, including reserving the entire B&B for my husband's family. They greeted us with homemade cookies and spent the entire week making sure we were comfortable and well taken care of. Lucilla helped arrange car transfers, hair appointments and purchased items for our guest's welcome bags. She even helped me incorporate some Italian wedding traditions into the day. We cannot thank them enough for all their help and hospitality!! We highly recommend the B&B to anyone visiting Rome. Not only will you be warmly welcomed but each room is very bright, clean and modern. The B&B is in a very quiet but centrally located area of Rome - perfect for walking to all the sites! We have made lifelong friends and cannot wait to return (again!).

I can't say enough positive things about the Domus Quiritum B&B! From the time we arrived in Rome the folks at the B&B were wonderful. We made arrangements to be picked up at the airport and got a wonderful history lesson from Emiliano on the way to the B&B. The room was very comfortable, the breakfasts were fantastic (especially the homemade ricotta cake), and the staff was great! My granddaughter and I decided this was the very best place we stayed on our vacation. I'm definitely staying at this B&B next time we're in Rome and I would highly recommend for visitors of all ages. We felt very safe even when out late in the evening and there are great restaurants nearby. You won't be disappointed!

The B&B was ideally located around 10 minutes walk to the Vatican and Castel San Angelo was at the end of the street. My husband John and I flew into Ciampino Airport, then from directly outside arrivals and to the right we got the bus to Anagnina metro station (20 minutes)and from there got the metro to Lepanto metro station(20 minutes) which is a 5 minute walk from the B&B. The B&B is on the 2nd floor of the building which has a small lift. There are 3 bedrooms which each have an individual theme, ours was the astronomy room and overlooked the square with a lovely fountain in the centre. The room was very comfortable with memory foam mattresses on the bed( these can be a little hot in the summer but the aircon compensates for that. We felt a little extra drawer storage would have been beneficial, though the other furnishings were unique and suited the room very well. There was a good choice a breakfast with cereal, pastries, yoghurts, fruit, bread, meats and cheeses.+juices, teas and coffees. We both felt that the tables were a little bit small when full of breakfast items. Lucilla, Vera and Livia were extremely helpful and gave us great advice for our days in Rome and how best to use our time, we went to a couple of the restaurants recommended by the girls and were not disappointed. Lucilla told us to feel free to make coffee and tea if we returned during the day and this really made us feel like we were at home. Thank you ladies you made our stay delightful and we will certainly return and recommend the B&B to our friends. One thing maybe let guests know to ring the bell outside the door when they arrive as we didn't see it and were looking for the door for a few minutes.

Wonderful location. We felt very safe in the neighborhood where mature trees lined the streets, yielding to small shops and restaurants. There is short walk to the Vatican and underground train but taxis abound.

Lucille was the perfect host! Her English is great and she has a very welcoming personality. We often choose B&Bs for international travel for the personal touch and to get a cultural experience that we wouldn't get from a hotel concierge. Lucille did not disappoint us. She definitely gave us 5star treatment! Breakfast was good with nice pastries, juice and fruit.

The room was clean and modestly decorated, with a comfortable memory foam mattress. There was also a flat screen TV and beautiful antiques. The bathroom was super clean with modern tiles and fixtures and equipped with a bidet. The 3 windows in our room allowed for ample breezes and later in the night, soothing sounds from the fountain directly across the street. This B&B was the perfect value for our first trip to Rome.

Ciao Roma for now...We'll be back!

Room Tip: The astronomy room was a bit noisy at night but we're accustomed to life on a quiet suburban cul...

This B&B is in a great location. We walked everywhere. Lucilla, Alessio and Vera are great hosts. They provided us with great information and helped us make the most of our time in Rome. The room was spotless and breakfast was very enjoyable (especially the cappuccinos). We stayed four nights and wish we could have stayed longer. We definitely enjoyed our time and we would love to return.
