As others have posted, a great place to stay due to location, cleanliness, the friendly staff, cost, breakfast......Be sure to visit the hotels web page to answer questions about finding the hotel. The staff is quick to reply to emails. Enjoy!

Room Tip: Don't worry about the stairs as the staff will help with your luggage.

This gem of a hotel is nestled in between touristy areas and the train station in a neighborhood suited for locals. Everything you might want to see or experience is within walking distance. It was especially helpful that the hotel was only a quick 10-15 min walk from Roma Termini train station, making it simple to travel in and out.

The hotel staff was extremely helpful and friendly. They gave us great recommendations, excellent directions and good tips to not seem so tourist-like. The young gent at the front desk is an asset to the team. Our room was clean, fresh, and nicely appointed. The only downside during our stay was an unfortunate noise that the plumbing made when the water was running. We hoped it didn't wake our neighbors when we woke up super early to leave. We left early enough that breakfast was not served so no comments to add there.

As a previous traveller mentioned, you can easily miss this hotel as there is no sign on the building. However, I was very impressed when we arrived on the third floor. A very helpful, friendly, hospitable Manager greeted us. He provided the best information, which was very much appreciated as I was travelling with my two young children. The hotel room and bathroom were very clean. Highly recommended!!

Room Tip: Look for a huge brown front door.

We had a late flight from Dublin resulting a 10pm check in. It was no trouble at all for the manager who popped around from their other nearby hotel. He checked us in taking time to explain everything including giving us a map and highlighting places of interest, he was so friendly and helpful! The room was on the small side but totally expected and caused no issues, the bathroom was quite roomy, air conditioning worked perfectly as did the double glazed windows to keep out city noise whilst sleeping. Breakfast brought to our room was great. We were unable to have breakfast 2 mornings as we had early tours so we were offered a discount on checkout which was a lovely surprise. The only down side however minor for us was the lack of lift as the building is quite old.The hotel is centrally located to many attractions, a mere 10 minute walk to the Colosseum which was amazing. The nearby restaurants were fabulous. All in all a great stay, would thoroughly recommend to anyone considering a stay in Rome.

You can easily miss the Hotel de Monti as there is no hotel sign on the building, just a small bell push. However, once inside having climbed the flights of mable stairs to the 3rd floor you'll be surprised by the very good quality of the hotel rooms. The young cleaner met us at the door and carried one of our suitcases up the stairs and she refused to take the tip we offered.
The rooms are well maintained, very quiet air conditioning, king size bed and small well equiped toilet/shower room. Your chosen breakfast is brought to your room at the time requested. We paid 99 euros per night for the room.
The hotel is fairly close to the main railway station, Roma Termini, and about a 15 minute walk to the Forum. The area is safe as the president's residence is nearby and he has his own Carabiniere station just up the road. The staff are friendly and helpful, they will advise the best way and times to visit the sites.

Mauro is fantastic . He is the front desk man . He is so helpful . Told us where to go , what to see , what to avoid . Nothing like local knowledge ! He even spent ages checking us in for our flight .The Brown door is the front door , don't do what we did and expect numbers to be odds on right evens on left , the numbers go up on right side of street . So look for the Brown door ,as per TA photos . The stairs aren't fun , but we knew that . Rooms are good . They have obviously been remodeled recently. Bathroom is good . The only down side , the elephants (kids ) upstairs that run around , the noise carries straight thru the floor . Would I stay here again . Yes

Hello Sir and thank you so much for the review! (a personal greeting from Mauro!)

Thanks for inform eveyone is reading about our "brown door"! The fact that we are in a very ancient building still considered as a monument from the Roman County, does not allow us to put any sign outside. Our website though, has all the specific directions about how to reach us!

Look forward to meeting you again!

Looked a bit shady at first from the outside. The staff is super nice and helpfull. Surprised us with a free bottle of champagne because it was our honeymoon. They were very helpfull in suggesting sights to see or nice cheap restaurants. The rooms are okay, nothing fancy. Windows are sound proof, but doors are not, so you hear a lot of noise of the other guests in the corridoor or tagging themselves in their room with their card. Breakfast was absolutely delicious and served in your room!

Room Tip: We had room 35, would suggest a room facing the street, as we had absolutely no view. But at least i...

Hello and thank you very much for posting this review.

You give us the possibility to remind everyone that we are not a luxury 5 stars plus Hotel. We are a 2 stars Hotel in the most characteristic district of Rome (Monti) at the third floor of an ancient building not provided with a lift.

The strenght we are proud of, is suggestions we can give through a map of Rome we always give to our guests, without whom you could fall down to the many touristic traps around the City and we here in order to let you discover Rome at its best, without a useless wasting of money and time.

Also, once in Italy, why do you have to eat frozen stuff just because in the wrong restaurants they treat you bad because they think you do not understand anything? We show even how to order the right thing in the right restaurant!!!

See you next time!
