We stumbled upon this charming restaurant off one of the side streets close to Piazza Popolo. The area is very romantic especially at night. The restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating. The decor is more on the modern side reflecting an up-scale eatery/bistro. We had a tasty starter, fried zucchini flowers followed by Ravioli and then for our main we had the sliced beef with asparagus. We also shared a delicious dessert. The service was great! It was truly a very romantic end to our honeymoon in Italy. I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you are looking to stay away from tourist restaurant and would like to enjoy a fine quality meal.

When the food finally came it was great. The atmosphere was ok, but the service was slow and the staff dismissive-this made the service (15%) pretty cheeky.

Food-wise, this restaurant is fairly reasonably priced for Rome.

Gusto have four different restaurants in Rome around the Mausoleum of Augustus-we also had coffee in another of these one afternoon, and waited 15 minutes before anyone acknowledged us at all (despite going inside and ordering coffee after waiting the first 10 minutes at an outside table whilst staff were standing around..... still we had to wait and re-order 5 mins later before anything started to happen).

You shouldn't go out of our way to eat/drink here based on the 2 experiences we had.

I love a recommendation, and will reward any restaurant with a big tip and a big smile if they deliver, but this restaurant has all the arrogance but no delivery. After sitting there for 15-20mins, I had to go looking for a waiter to give us menus and take a drink order. The attitude was icy at best. It was 8.30pm on a Friday night, only outside tables full, and most of the waiters were to be found outside chatting or running down the street after friends. We had to then ask to order, get our water and wine topped up, and after 30mins of dirty plates in front of us, while watching the waiters prance around like we were lucky to be served by them, we had had enough. When I questioned them, while paying the bill the waiter who did not serve our table, had the cheek to try to imply the fact our son didn't like his meal and we ordered something else was the problem. We paid for both dishs mind you. Then they tried to say they were busy. Does the term Iron Lung ring a bell?
For our last night in Rome, total disappointment. Found numerous other places in the area with happy looking waiters on our way back from getting gelati.
Don't even serve Champagne by the glass for goodness sake! Whole experience very disappointing. And such a cool looking place. But considering how quiet it was, I suggest even the beautiful people get sick of the arrogance and bad service. If it was good it would be packed, the law of great restaurants. Owner has the right concept, but the wrong staff.

15% Service charge is a total rip-off when you get mediocre food, paper table cloth and bad attitude from staff. Avoid if you can.

We decided to eat there on a Sunday lunch while walking around Rome. It had a great vibe, but in the end it turned out to be an awful place. We asked for a table for 2, in Italian, as I'm Italian and the waiter replied to us in English. Then we asked her for the menu, and she kept replying in English. When we were ready to order, she took 10 minutes to take our order and she kept talking to us in English, then I realized that it was because she probably wasn't Italian herself. In the end we got so upset with her attitude and service that we decided to eat elsewhere. Gusto is obviously a tourist oriented place, not ready to deal with locals. With so many options to chose from in Rome, it's better not to loose your time at Gusto.
