“Pleasant evening competent cooking”
Reviewed 19 March 2014 via mobile

The restaurant was busy but the smiling manager soon found us a table. The atmosphere is urban chic and pleasant, we were able to chat together. Parmigiana of carcofi and polpette in vino bianco both well cooked and flavoursome, great vegetables too. Wine by the glass or bottle from a decent wine list. The chocolate and pear tart was a bit disappointing, the service a bit chequered but definitely to be recommended and worth a return visit

“Would not visit again”
Reviewed 1 February 2014

Final night in Rome and I visited the 'gusto as it was right around the corner from my hotel.

Overall the evening was pleasant, nice wine, chosen with the help of the waitor, my girlfriend chose the lamb chops which were nicely done as were the beef meatballs I ordered. However none of the food had any wow factor, the taste was pleasant if unispiring which was disappointing considering the price paid; each main was 18 euros.

The pudding of ice cream I must admit was delicious.

Up to the point of paying the service was good, pleasant and timely however the evening ended on a sour note as we were not so politely told (virtually instantly after paying) that we needed to make way for another couple. Bairing in mind we had 3/4 of a bottle of wine to finish this was not particularly ideal.

The bill for two mains, a bottle of red and a pudding to share was €73 noting that we were charged for bread (x 2 one of which we didn't have) and the tap water.

Being as impartial as possible I would suggest this is an overpriced restaurant for average food.

“Good But Not Great”
Reviewed 22 January 2014

We had a good lunch here but far from the best meal we had in Rome. Part of it may have been that our table was in a dark, back area of the restaurant took away from the food. My risotta was too salty but was warm and filling and my wife and daughter's dishes were better. Service was fast and pleasant.

Reviewed 7 January 2014 via mobile

I went there for new' s year eve so i may say this review does not reflect the real standard of the place.I have been advised to go there by roman friends so i was ready to spend a bit more expecting good food .The only good plate was my pasta cacio pepe, the rest of the course were reheated...and nothing special for the price. Not worth it.

“Chaos service but good food quality”
Reviewed 5 January 2014

We (4 people) had dinner at Capodanno. It begunn quite good - we got our wine and antipasti served. Than the restaurant was quite full and the chaos in service was quite visible. Waiter was asked for another wine bottle and came after 20 minutes to ask, which one we ordered.
They forgot primi piati for one of us. Everything in service was very chaotic, but food quality was very good.
Recommended, if you have a lot of time
