We received a recommendation and thought the restaurant was so good we went back again - twice in only a 4 night Rome stay. Plenty of room to eat either outside on a quietish street with not enough traffic to cause any bother while eating.

The food is seriously good - cannot remember when I last wrote that - and not overpriced either. Unusually they have excellent sized portions and their cheeseboard is a wonder - but look at the photo of their refrigerated cheese room - a wonder in itself!!

THOROUGHLY recommended - average cost including a sufficiency of wine was about €30 which compared with many other restaurants was a real bargain! If I went to just one of the restaurants we ate at in our trip to Rome it would be GREAT GUSTO!

We were given the name of this place to eat after a long day trip and were told it was cheap and really good food. I found it to be a little pricey but the food was good. It was a Saturday evening and we were easily seated with no reservations. Prices for Carbonara and other pastas was $11.Euros, a very small bottle of Coke $3. Euros, coffee $2. Euros. And they charge a service charge so a bill of $41. Euros the charge was $6.00. All they did was get the order, bring the food and then ask if there was anything else, which there was not. And beware of any place that asks if you want bread, they will charge you for it so ask first how much as the price can be over priced.

We visited Gusto Osteria Formaggerria based on a local recommendation and were well pleased. We ordered cicchetti, a wonderful way to try 5 different dishes. The zucchini flower was tasty, 2 different pasta dishes (primavera cream sauce on one, tomato based sauce on the other) wree also good. Broccolini was over cooked. Charged €2.50 each for tap water, €28 for house red. All in all, a tasty meal, a bit overpriced. Had to find our waiter to get the check.
