Me & my family stayed 3 nights in april. This is a beautiful place! Next to Vatican and metro. With a clean and big rooms and bathrooms, fully kitchen, and lovely attendants. The drinks and food all included. Definitely I will be back!

My husband & I stayed her for 3 nights in total but split over a week as we went to sorrento too!!! This is a fantastic place to stay, 2 mins from the metro and 5 mins from the Vatican walls. There are only 4 rooms very modern, you have free acces to the kitchen facilities where you can help yourself to drinks and snacks whenever you like. Breakfast is great everything you could want. The rooms are quiet even though Rome is very busy!!!! Cannot recommend enough!!!

5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 June 2012

We booked two rooms here in early June and ended up with our own apartment, with a private lounge, kitchen, laundry, and two en suite bathrooms. The rooms looked nothing like the pictures (modern instead of period) but we didn't mind a bit because everything was so perfect. The staff spoke perfect English and was enormously helpful in directing us places, calling taxis, etc. The even stocked our fridge with milk, water, soda, juices, fresh fruit, cheese, prosciutto, etc., without any extra charge, and the breakfast that was laid out each morning for guests in the main apartment was ridiculous.

It is located in a beautiful historic building, just 3 blocks from the Vatican, and half a block from the Metro station which makes it a breeze to get to the sites like the Trevi Fountain, Coloseo, etc.. Plus great restaurants and shops are just outside the door.

I was worried before we arrived that the neighborhood wouldn't be great, the beds would be uncomfortable, there might be no AC, etc., but every aspect exceeded our expectations. The apartment we shared could have slept 6, with two comfy queen beds and a fold out sofa in the main lounge, and we only paid about $240 a night for the entire apartment (St. Peter's Guest House was what the called our apartment). I felt like we were robbing them.

If you just book one room, you will of course end of sharing common space, but I still think that would be fine. It's not like you spend a lot of time hanging out inside while in Rome anyway, and individual rooms are so spacious and quiet and large that anyone would be completely comfortable and feel they had privacy.

Honestly, I could not recommend this place more highly. I will definitely stay here again, and I am seriously picky about where I stay and a stickler for things like nice linens, having a closet with real hangers, getting extra pillows and blankets, and having an ultra clean bathroom.

Book this. Seriously.

5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 April 2012

My husband, teenaged daughter and I stayed at Sweet Vatican in November 2011 and again in April 2012. If you want to stay near St. Peter's or the Vatican Museum, you won't find a better place. It's right around the corner from a Metro stop and just a few blocks from St. Peter's. We enjoyed our stay in November because of the location, comfort, cleanliness and size of the rooms, and the warm and caring staff. When we returned this month, we were delighted to see the total renovation and complete updating of the rooms. What was once charming and comfortable is now modern and beautiful. It really feels like a small, luxury hotel.

Sweet Vatican occupies part of the third floor (there is a lift) of a building in a commercial area. Once you check in, you will have a key to a lobby area which has a sofa and coffee tables; the kitchen and breakfast room (breakfast is included and is terrific -- fruit, yogurt, cheeses, meats, cereal, cappuccino, pastries) are adjoining. There are four private guest rooms. All have been completely renovated. We had a huge room with two queen sized beds. Because of the design of the room, it feels as though there are two separate bedrooms, which was great for our family. The bathroom is spacious and the shower is awesome!

This is a very busy part of Rome and there is some noise from the street. Just close the shutters and the windows and you'll be fine. The beds are brand new and extremely comfortable, so a good night of sleep is a certainty if you close the windows.

The owner and staff at Sweet Vatican are professional, warm and treated us very, very well. They are kind and accommodating, friendly and helpful, and made us feel at home. Sweet Vatican is a perfect place for a solo traveler, couples, friends and/or for a family or small group of people traveling together. (Sweet Vatican is affiliated with St. Peter's Guest House (on the floor below) and they have an apartment for rent in the same building. If you are a larger family or a group traveling together, you should email them and see which accommodations would best suit your needs.)

There are a lot of hotels in Rome and my husband and I are not creatures of habit, but I know we will stay at Sweet Vatican the next time we are in Rome!
