“Good medium budget option”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 March 2013

The staff at the hotel were friendly and accomodating, the reception is open 24h. Our room was on the street side but we couldn't hear anything from the street with the windows closed. The room size was big with quite a lot of storage space and the bathroom clean.

We were on the first floor and the wifi worked in our room which was good. The TV was tiny but we didn't use this so didn't bother us. The location is great, about 5 min walk from the Termini main station. We also walked to the Colloseum, Forum and Pantheon (bit longer - up to 30min walk for Pantheon). It is close to Metro line A (Vittorio Emanuelemore station) and so the transport is perfect.

The breakfast was probably the only part that wasn't brilliant, there was cereal, bread and some spreads but not a great range. They make you fresh coffee though and that was delicious!

Overall, definitely worth the price so have given 4/5.

Very friendly and helpful reception staff.
Was disappointed when we got into the room: it was dusty and shabby, though not actually unclean.
We requested a room overlooking the street, so we could people watch in the evening. Rome is very noisy, but the double glazing in the room was excellent, so we could shut out the noise when we needed to.
Room was small, with a 14" TV which received a few English-language news programmes.
Location is good. Easy walking distance from Termini station. Metro station at end of the road. Nearby Church of Santa Maria Maggiore worth a visit.
Breakfast not fantastic, but adequate. Chef prepares teas, coffees, cappuccinos, etc., to order.
Free WiFi in lobby and free use of internet-connected PC.
Abundant toiletries supplied in bathroom.

I enjoyed talking with one of the owners who was on duty half the time. He was very pleasant and helpful. The other guy overreacted when I mentioned a discrepancy in their website. He was quickly defensive but I charmed him and from then on we got along great. When you think a clerk is rude, conside that they are often translating what you say into their own language and then translating their response back to English, so things get lost in translation. He was really a sweet guy, but oobviously often misunderstoon. The super quiet man from Bangladesh serving breakfast was shy and said nothing for 3 days then chatted like an old friend on the 4th! He made the best cappucino ever.
There breakfast spread was simple, but adequate. They even had little tins of pate. I brought my own mug (I won on my cruise) and was able to take my second cup of coffee back to my room. When I came back each day I asked for and received some ice which is such a rare thing in Italy.
I had a single room on the second floor and used a very fast antique elevator. It was small but adequate, my only complaint would be that there was a shower door that left no room to sit straight on the toilet and I'm only 5'6! It is a very diverse neighborhood but I didn't feel uncomfortable. The gate to the elevator lobby has to be opened by the desk clerk pushing a button so no one gets in who isn't staying there.
Its one block to the subway and 3 to the train station. I am old but I had no problem walking to the coliseum. $150 a night is rare in Europe and I didn't mind paying it here.

I do not agree they're unfriendly. The night we arrived we were greeted warmly and reception clerk told us about major Rome sights, circled the best shopping areas, the best restaurants area, gave us a map and answered all our tourist questions. We were happy with him, he was constantly smiling. Others were worse - but still not that terrible.

The area around hotel is dirty and packed with homeless, but you have to pay something for being that close to Termini.

All major sights are within walking distance, we used metro only once (it's really close to the hotel).

We travelled with friends and had 2 rooms. Ours didn't have any wi-fi problems, it was fast and good - but in the other room, which is just next to our door, wifi was not working at all.

I didn't like their breakfast, poor variety of bread and drinks. And true - if you like to sleep in silence, ask to stay away from street rooms, I had a corner room with street view and noises were bothering me, I din't sleep well one night.

Stayed 3 days at this hotel in September after a cruise. Booked it after Rick Steeve's suggestion. It was conveniently close to the Termini. This hotel is not a luxurious hotel by any means. But it is clean and close to most major attractions. Unfortunately we were given a very small room. But it was clean and quiet. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was OK by European standards.Area around hotel is dirty and seedy..

We wanted to be close to the train station to get to the airport in a timely manner and this was a perfect spot - several blocks to walk and you were there. It was a very pretty place to stay with larger rooms than our other Rome hotel earlier in our trip. The staff were incredibly helpful with all of our questions and assisted with all of our needs. Free computer use in the lobby with an ample breakfast. A little garden area tucked away where one lady said she played cards with her daughter - nice. Pleasantly surprised!

Room Tip: Ask to stay away from the front of the building for less street noise.
