Rooms were small, traffic noise was a problem. Hotel staff were not particulary helpful - guess they forget tourists are their business and answering the same questions over and over is their job - is it not??

Room Tip: Do not stay in the new part - traffic noise is a problem.

Hotel was in a good location and a 15 minute walk to Termini from which you can go everywhere in Rome. Rooms were very small but comfortable. They had turned off the air conditioning in early October so we had to open the windows and the noise factor was very high. Weather was moderate so without opening the window, it was stuffy in the room and you had no options but to open the window and listen to the street sounds which were very loud. I usually do not go back to hotels that do not give you the option of a comfortable climate in which to sleep and that would apply here. I do not like not having the option to control your comfort. WiFi did not work in the rooms, you had to go to the lobby. Very inconvenient. Breakfast was very good and plenty of choices

Room Tip: ask for a room that is not on Paive Street

Hotel quite small however got everything you need was really clean and temperature perfect, we had a safe, tea and coffee making facilities. we was barely in the room as site seeing a lot of the time me and my boyfriend (now fiancé as he proposed in Rome at the Trevi fountain) stayed for 3 nights, perfect location. Close to metro station, just amazing, loved every second of this break. Would definitely return to this hotel, staff are friendly and helpful also. Breakfast not for my taste but hey it was included in the price everything else just fabulous. Thank you Gambrinus for being part of our amazing memory and we will definitely be returning.

There isnt one place in Rome that is next to everything all at once and for me the hotel had a great location, it was quiet and only 5 minutes walk away from termini where you can get to anywhere in the city at only 2 stops on the metro. We bought an omina roma pass card and from termini there is a hop on hop off bus leaving every ten minutes to all the tourist attractions so you do not need to walk too far at all and for a city centre the traffic isnt too bad - only 15 minutes on the bus takes you to the vatican which is the furthest attraction from the hotel. If you want to walk its about half an hours comfortable walk down to the spanish steps where there is more night life and restaurant choice, which we found was a nice way to walk off our meal! DONT pay 50 euros for a taxi from the airport there are several shuttle bus companies that drop you off at termini station and pick you up to take you back from the same stop and then only 5 mins walk to the hotel we paid 8 euros return each. Buy a street map from opposite the station and you will easily find the name of the street the hotel is on to walk there. The hotel is friendly, very clean and the beds are comfy, The breakfast was plentiful and the coffee amazing! The staff were very polite and on check in they did warn us about city tax ( although if you are a keen european city traveller you should know to expect this) I would book this hotel again - if you are looking to book Rome enjoy it - but be wary of the street sellers and beggars (especially the rose sellers)

Beautiful clean rooms, great choice at breakfast with lovely helpful staff. They go out of their way to make your stay the best!
Great area for walking or catching buses as also not far from the terminus but walking down the road there are some bus stops there which get you most anywhere. There is also, on the opposite side of the road a small tabac shop which sells the Roma pass which is well worth getting. I would definitely go back again!

Room Tip: we stayed in the small area along the pavement which also houses apartments and is great but overloo...

Hotel is not very centrally located and hence needs a lot of walking to get anywhere and got very tiring. Recommend stay at a hotel more centrally located so that you can avoid the extra effort of going everywhere.

The hotel was decent and clean. Rooms small but clean as was the bathroom and bed comfortable to sleep in.

Must mention that the service was extraordinary...every time we asked for instructions we were greeted warmly, patiently explained and even handed a map (everytime...really)...all the reviews which mention bad service, I disagree

Breakfast excellent and the coffee for sure was amazing.

Must visit the Restaurant opp the hotel...amazing pizzas and the Rum Baba is heavenly

Good start to a good trip but was left longing for more

We stayed at the Gambrinus last month, the hotel is not very centrally located and hence needs a lot of walking to get anywhere and got very tiring. Preferably stay at a hotel more centrally located to all the major sites of Rome so that you can avoid the extra effort of going everywhere.

Having said that the hotel was decent and clean. The rooms were really small but clean as was the bathroom and the bed was comfortable to sleep in. The breakfast was good, though it was the same every day, coffee was really good.

The café at the end of the street was good and had a good variety of food to eat. The Pizzeria opposite also had good Pizzas.

Overall a good stay though the location is not central.
