“Haughty staff, dated hotel”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 July 2014 via mobile

On a positive we were accommodated with an early check in. Now, for the negatives.
We were told breakfast was until 10:30. When we arrived at 10 we were advised that breakfast was finishing soon and to hurry. Tables were literally moved around us as we ate.
After we arrived back at the hotel shortly after midnight, we felt as though we had been castigated as petulant children."Room number?! No, turn around until I find it".
Abhorrent service. Unwelcoming staff.
The room we had was a noisy confluence of outdated plumbing and early morning conversations from fellow guests.
4 star price for 2 star service.
Stay elsewhere.

A hotel where there is a real air of luxury. Near the Via Veneto which makes it easy to get to lots of top locations, but makes eating out very expensive. They pride themselves on their art collection, which isn't really so hot. Ask for expresso or capacino at breakfast as their regular coffee isn't great.

Unfortunately, we only got to stay at this very nice hotel one night, but were impressed by the staff and management, arriving later than expected due to a snafu at the train station. The manager behind the desk seemed to assess our situation and made us feel as though they were genuinely glad to have us there, making quick order of getting us checked in. The efficient porters immediately took our luggage and promptly delivered them to our rooms. We were tired and hungry and were told we could still get lunch at the roof top restaurant, which we did. It was a limited menu but we had no problem making our selections which were served in short order. The ample and tasty sandwiches were better than we expected and were accompanied by delicious french fries. We found the breakfast buffet the next morning to be equally adequate and well maintained. If we ever get back to Rome, I would not hesitate to stay again at the Hotel Victoria.

The hotel is a little dated (very small lifts) but the rooms are of a good size and the bathroom was very good. I had a small balcony although the view is of the surrounding streets (its a city hotel). Breakfast was good and the roof top restaurant was a pleasant place to have lunch. The menu was very limited, but the quality was acceptable. The staff were more than helpful

Good sized room and ensuite. Lovely view from our window. Nice and quiet at night but still close enough to great restaurants. The hotel restaurant served a great breakfast and waiters were prompt and friendly. Also served a good cappuccino. 10 -15 minute walk to Trevi fountain and other tourist attractions. We would highly recommend Hotel Victoria to anyone staying in Roma.

We stayed here for a week last year and for two nights this year while traveling thru Europe. It is a beautiful hotel and the staff is excellent. We were very impressed with Nicola last year and we were happy to be able to see him again this year. They gave us a very large superior room which was beautiful. A huge bathroom with double sinks - we were really spoiled there. We were greeted to fresh fruit and bottled water in our room upon arrival which was a very nice surprise. Nicola made dinner reservations for us and helped us figure out how to get to the places we wanted to visit during this too short visit in Rome. There is a breakfast buffet included with the room with everything you can think of available to you. This is definitely where we will always stay while in Rome. Located is just a two minute walk from the Via Veneta.

We stayed here for a week and found the hotel suited our needs. We had a quiet room. The maid service was good and bathroom clean and a good size. The staff were really pleasant and helpful.
we had a lovely meal on the roof Terrace overlooking the Villa Borghese which was memorable. The view, as the sun went down, was quite beautiful - the setting superb.
Breakfast was good offering plenty fruit, pastries, breads and meats, scrambled egg/bacon. My only criticism was that the hotel caters for cruise ship tour groups and, as groups, they can dominate the dining rooms. At breakfast this was occasionally annoying however one morning the group were offered a private room to isolate them and avoid upsetting other guests.
I would recommend the hotel and would happily return. Access to all the sights of Rome from here was easy and the nearby Via Veneto was delightful in the evening for a stroll and drink.
The beautiful park - across the road - was also delightful and we enjoyed visiting the museum there.
A lovely trip to Rome - and a pleasant hotel to stay.

Room Tip: The quiet rooms are at the back of the hotel where we found no issues. The beds were 2 singles aside...
