I use this hotel regularly when visiting Rome on business. The roof top bar and restaurant are a must in the summer time, local restaurants can be a bit pricey and avoid Via Venetto if you can. The city centre can be reached on foot if you are energetic, otherwise it's best to get a taxi from the rank at the end of the road.

The common areas are beautiful, the breakfast beautifully presented, the location within walking distance of high-ending shopping. However, our room looked nothing like any of the pictures - it was small, dark, old, shortage of hot water. It was a functional hotel if all you want it for is to sleep.

Room Tip: Ask for an upgraded room. The standard rooms are bad.

My wife and I have stayed here twice and like it a lot. The location is very nice...at the top of the Via Venito and close to the Borghese Gardens. I recommend the superior level room as it is much larger than the classic. The room decor was simple but very pretty. The air-conditioning is not great but adequate for days that are not the hottest. Our tub had a whirlpool which was nice after a day walking all over the old city. I had no problem with the WIFI.

Room Tip: A superior room is recommended for a couple....the classic double is too small.

My wife and I booked 4 nights at the Victoria Hotel at the end of July this year (2014) for our wedding anniversary after reading the reviews on Trip Advisor and, if anything, it exceeded our expectations on every level.

Firstly the hotel reception and all of the staff are stylishly presented and the whole arrangement looks very upmarket. However we were relieved to find everyone was very friendly and helpful not suffering from the usual curse of posh hotels, being snooty; even listening patiently to my appallingly rusty Italian for various requests throughout our stay. As usual it's the hotel staff that make or break my stay and they could not be faulted. From the concierge to the porters, waiters and housekeepers they were all efficient friendly and constantly friendly and smiling at all hours; nothing was too much trouble.

Then there is its location; on the very edge of the gardens that surround the Villa Borghese, overlooking the Aurelian Wall and tucked down a side street at the top of the Via Veneto it is the perfect compromise of peace and proximity to facilities; literally 2 minutes walk to Harry's Bar & swanky shops on the Veneto, 15 minutes through the Park to the Piazza Del Popolo and 20 minutes in the other direction gets you to the Termini Station, but quiet enough at night so that we weren't disturbed.

Our room was spacious, very clean and well maintained with extremely effective air conditioning which was a relief after a long day of sight seeing. There was plenty of wardrobe space and a room safe for our valuables when we were out during the day. The bed was huge and very comfortable meaning that we were well rested for long days of sightseeing. The bathroom was very clean, spacious and well appointed with both a bath, a hair-dryer and a powerful shower with plenty of complimentary soaps and shower gel etc. which were replenished daily as were the towels.

The roof top bar and restaurant, Sopra I Pini, (see separate reviews) provides lovely views over the Villa Borghese and across the city and has an excellent menu. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable, stylish and informal base from which to see Rome.

Well i am writing this review after an hour of me checking out.good hotel with nice and helping staff and the food is good.i have a problem with hotels pillows but this one us good
The bad things are three main points
First the rooms are very small iam a little big guy with regular wife we barely fit in the bed and the shower is very very small we barely can take a shower
Second thing we return to take a shower and the water was so cold so we call the super and simply he told me that all guests takes the hot water so i really showered in cold water
Third thing is not major but i would prefer a near hotel from the main sights

We stayed a few nights and have mostly things to say about Hotel Victoria.
Staff is helpful and friendly.
Rooms and common areas are well maintained.
Breakfast was good.
Only bad thing was with the WIFI. While we had good reception everywhere, including our room, it still only worked well in the reception area. (It repeatedly kicked us out when trying to use it in our room).
In all a good hotel worth the money (if you Google a bit and get a good price for your stay).
