“Chilling by the pool...”
Reviewed 31 August 2012

We had spent a few days doing lots of sight-seeing around Rome and just needed to relax by the pool during the day and go out for nice meals at night.

The hotel was great and we would like to give a special mention to Lorenzo the pool attendant who made our stay very relaxing. He was always on hand to offer his service when needed and just had a lovely manner about him. Thank you.

Breakfast was lovely and the whole ambience was great. Only slight complaints we would have is that the air conditions takes a good few hours to adjust and the price of a bottle of beer from the minibar is unbelievable and more expensive than being served at the poolside bar (€15 for a 330ml bottle in your room versus €9 or €10 for the equivalent in the bar including crisps/ nuts) - very strange!

Thanks though - all in all a great stay.

Room Tip: Ask for pool view if possible.

Excellent service, rooms of great quality and pool which was fantastic (pool tools and water free of charge). Good breakfast with super choice. Staff very attentative, Shuutle bus to the Spanish Steps every half an hour was very handy. Perfect choice for Rome. Would love to return again very soon.

Great hotel in an upscale residential neighborhood in the heart of Rome. First class service, cuisine and accommodations. There is a limo shuttle that takes you to the center of town every 15 minutes. can be used both ways.

Arrival and check in were very fast and effective. Little down point. Asked 5 month in advance to have two rooms next to each other. On arrival one room face pool and other room was at other part of building facing street.
Pool is very nice with very good service.
We ate one night at pool restaurant, good quality and good service. 2 star michelin restaurant was facing pool restaurant. When eating for this budget I want a better vue than this. That's why we didn't go there.
Hotel has a free car service to the Spanish steps. For other sites its best to take a taxi. Cheap and fast way for getting from one place to the other.

Bottom line: very good hotel, worth the price and service. We recommend it to everyone.

Stayed here in August for 4 nights and can unequivocally say that this is my favourite hotel in a European capital. We instantly felt very comfortable and relaxed, buoyed by the excellent and attentive service from all the staff - probably the best service we have ever experienced. We stayed in the lowest grade of room, but it was perfectly adequate, with a large bed and pleasant bathroom, overlooking the quieter rear of the hotel. The hotel is in a residential area and a stroll from the Borghese gardens, which we walked in each morning. The hotel's shuttle to Spanish Steps doesn't start until 10am, so we took taxis early into town to avoid the heat (cost about 12-15Euros). The best thing about the hotel is the great pool to relax in during the afternoon. It gets quite crowded at times but the attendant is very helpful arranging loungers and providing towels and free water. Breakfasts are buffet style with a good choice of food. We ate once in the hotel restaurant which was an excellent standard of haute cuisine with an extensive and very reasonable wine list. Expect to pay about 300Euros though for a 3 course dinner for two plus wine. The reception staff provided excellent recommendations on places to eat and interesting sightseeing. Overall, an excellent hotel. I will definitely stay here again on our next visit and highly recommend it.

my Daughter and I have just returned from a six day stay in Rome, although I have been before, it was my Daughter's first time. The staff at reception welcomed us after some delay in arrival and although the restaurant was shut, the staff in the garden bar area made us some fresh pizza even though officially they had stopped serving food (1am). we were made to feel very comfortable and well looked after even though the staff had by then worked a 12 hour shift. The professionalism of the staff shone throughout the hotel from the very informative consierge to the housekeeping team who clean and titivate your room 4 times a day. There was a 'nothing is too much to ask' attitude and every detail is taken care offrom booking a restaurant with transport, to tickets for a night of operatic whimsy in st paul in the walls. There is a wonderful pool area to the rear of the garden where very attentive pool attendants supply clean fluffy towels and free water to every guest. Our experience was truly wonderful, and I would strongly recommend this hotel for single travellers as you are made to feel very safe here. I must mention the fabulous breakfast staff led by a maitre and two amazing women who miss nothing and read your mind as to your requirements. Brilliant well deserved to be a leading hotel of the world.

Excellent hotel with attentive service and beautifully clean. The breakfasts are exceptional (HOW do they make such yummy scrambled eggs!!!!!) and the pool is wonderful when the temperature is soaring - good pool service as well. To top it all free transport through the Borghese Gardens to the top of the Spanish Steps. A perfect solution to accommodation needs when in Rome.
