“Good choice of hotel.”
Reviewed 8 November 2013

Have just returned from the lovely city of Rome. This hotel looked good on the internet, and did not disappoint. On checking in, we were led out of the hotel and down the street 20 yards to an attatched apartment block. Our initial uncertainty was removed on being taken to a very well appointed room. The street below was busy and had a freindly atmosphere enjoyed through our open windows. The facilities in our room met all our needs, and more.
Breakfast is taken in the rooftop garden restaurant, where you can choose to dine in or out. The breakfast fare was continental, and whilst not to my taste it was included in the price and started the day well. Freindly staff made our stay an enjoyable one.
The location of the hotel is excellent, with fairly short liesurely walks to the Coliseum, Forum and Palatine. The hotel bar was fairly expensive, but it is easy to find a reasonably priced bar or restaurant close by.
We prebooked the Vatican tour, which included a 3 hour guided tour. Our tour guide was very knowedgeable, but personally I would have liked to have browsed at my own speed and take in the information written on the boards and guide book. It did, however save a long queue.
We spent a lovely time in a lovely city with great freinds. The hotel and city are both a first class choice for a break. We will hopefully return to both.
Airports-shuttle.com was a good choice to get in and out of the city. For only 40 euros each way we were taken straight to the hotel for a similar cost to the rail option.

We stayed two nights and nearly three days here and the location turned out to be excellent - the main Rome train station (Roma Termini) was maybe a 10 min walk. The Colosseum was about 20 min by walking. A few hundred meters away was a bus stop for the hop-on / hop-off bus tours (although I recommend starting your bus tour from the train station).

The hotel was very nice and we opted for a spacious triple room which had double sinks and a walk-in closet. The windows beautifully overlooked the Santa Maria Maggiore Basilica. Even though the hotel is located in a bustling area, it was very quiet at night as traffic subsided. The check-in process was very quick and the personnel were friendly, except for the night clerk - he constantly had a scornful look on his face and didn’t seem friendly. The bed was very comfortable and the toiletries were exceptional.

We ate breakfast and the view alone from the rooftop was worth it. The food and fresh juices were delicious and the service was attentive. In the evening we had drinks on the gorgeous rooftop lounge where the bartender was attentive as well.

This was a good value location and I would definitely recommend this hotel.

I have just returned from this hotel having booked a twin room overlooking Santa Maria Maggiore. This is a fabulous hotel, with very friendly and helpful staff. The hotel was exceptionally clean, there was a safe in the room at no extra cost which was great. The restaurant where you have your breakfast has wonderful views and the dinner was excellent. It is a wonderful location but do be aware that it takes about 15 minutes to walk into the centre of the city. Ok at the start of the day but a bit tiring after a day's sightseeing. Would I stay again - absolutely!
Gloria

Just back from a visit to this hotel and would thoroughly recommend. The check in was good and luggage taken to room immediately by the porter. Rooms of a decent size for Italian hotel, with safe provided, coffee and tea facilities, these were replenished daily and linen and towels changed daily and room kept spotlessly clean. Sound proofed rooms so heard little noise from street. The Santa Maria Magiorie is in front of the hotel but the last ringing of the bells is at 9p.m. and don't start until 7 a.m. in the morning. Breakfast is served on the roof terrace with great views of the city.

Only downside I would say is that the lift goes to floor 5A and there are a good few stairs up to the roof terrace so not really suitable for those with walking difficulties.

Would certainly return to this hotel.

Charming, clean hotel in a very convenient location. Very, very helpful staff. Very nice roof top restaurant and bar with a beautiful view of St. Maria Maggiore Basilica. Most enjoyable breakfast at roof top.

My daughter and I stayed here ten years ago and decided to try it again. It is in a very convenient place, opposite Santa Maria Maggiore. Tourist buses leave from this square and the Metro is only a few yards away. We like walking and we were able to see most of the popular attractions this way. However the hotel is at the top of a very high hill, easy to walk down but at the end of a day not so good!!
Our room was well furnished and a reasonable size. It was on the second floor on Via Carlo Alberto and we expected to hear noise from the street but the sound -proofing was very good. Handy to have a kettle in the room but the tray of sachets was not refilled and neither were the toilet rolls. The bathroom needed some refurbishment but it was a good size with all amenities.
The roof bar was a really good place to relax and enjoy the view over Rome.Breakfast rather disappointing.
This hotel has more good points than bad but if we go to Rome again we will try another hotel.

With wonderful views of the Santa Maria Magiorie right in front this hotel is ideal for a fews days whilst in the Eternal City. Double glaze windows keep out the noise of Roman traffic, the buzz of tourists and the ringing of the church bells. but the view from room 501 & 401 is fantastic.
The rooms are not overly generous but they do have tea\coffee facilities, in room safe, and a bath ( that is the deluxe rooms have) Check with your agent about standard rooms.
Breakfast is on the terrace overlooking the city below. Selection is basic and a bit repetitive. Vegans miss out a lot in Italy.. be prepared. However the pastries are delightful.
The Staff could be friendlier..However once the ice was broken tended to thaw a little.
Breakfast ladies need refresher courses on customer relations as everything seemed to put them out somewhat. Must have been trained by the retail manager from the Mas department store down the road next to the Vittorio Emanuelle park. Some of the most insolent and rudest customer service to be encounted anywhere..Diabolical.
