“Beautiful hotel well situated”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 September 2013

As with our hotel in Venice (also a Boscolo), I found this hotel on the Marriott web site and liked the style of the rooms. This was our first trip to Rome so I wasn't familiar with the location (via Veneto, made famous in the film La Dolce Vita). Once again, we were very happy with our choice.

The rooms are great, a combination of modern with a touch of art deco. The art deco touches in the restaurant were even stronger. That style did make me feel like I was living a glamorous jet-setting life, a far cry from the Fairfield Inns, Courtyards and Residence Inns I stay in for business travel.

The hotel staff was very efficient and their service was 5-star. We actually thought we had a problem with our room. It had rained very hard for about an hour in the afternoon on our second day. We returned from sightseeing by cab and had lunch in the hotel. Upon returning to our rooms (we had two, located next to each other), some of the walls (fabric wall paper on padding) were wet. We thought there was a leak so we called the front desk. They responded immediately, sending up a bell hop, followed by the on-duty manager (I'm not sure of this title). Everyone seemed genuinely horrified and offered to change our rooms immediately while they figured out what the problem was. Soon afterward, housekeeping said they were responsible, a result of cleaning the walls. Knowing that what we saw wasn't a leak, the hotel was still willing to re-locate us if we wanted, but we wanted to stay near each other and since it wasn't serious, we stayed in those rooms without further incident. When we arrived from dinner that night, the hotel provided both of our rooms with a bottle of Prosecco and some fresh fruit--a nice touch that we really appreciated.

The hotel is on a pretty street and is within walking distance of many tourist attractions and restaurants. It's also across from the American Embassy compound.

I would be very happy to stay in the hotel again.

First impressions - grand entrance with marble from floor to ceiling. Check in a breeze with efficient staff and helpful concierge service.
We had a 3rd floor room immediately overlooking the USA Embassy. The room was spotless and immaculately decorated with a bed the size of a family car. En-suite of equal quality with an interesting array of complimentary shower gels, shampoos etc. etc. a nice finishing touch.
Location was perfect with the hotel being a short walk from a min line metro station giving quick travel to sights such as the Colosseum and Vatican City.
Lovely long weekend in a very relaxing hotel - well recommended.

We stayed here for 2 nights on our first visit to Rome. Location is excellent - a short walk to the Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Pantheon etc. There are plenty of restaurants nearby too. Our room was spotless and the bed was huge! I loved the selection of toiletries in the bathroom. Staff were pleasant and very helpful. A great stay - we would definitely choose this hotel again if visiting Rome.

Platinum elite member. First room that we got the patio door did not locked and shared by other guest. Second room had a sewer smell and we told them daily they had a P-trap issue. Safe malfunctioned all the time.

Dear Mrs. Muller,

We would like to thank you for your time and honest feedback and also to clarify that we're not in any way questioning your judgement.

With reference to the smell we proposed a second room change in Junior Suite n° 610, but you refused. The first day the smell was promptly removed from our housekeeping and the days after was engendered from the clothes you washed and left everyday inside the bathroom, television, abat-jour and wardrob.

Please we inform you that you received an upgrade in Superior Executive and our maintenance couldn’t opened the safety lock because you weren’t in the room and the Italian law doesn’t allow us to open without your presence. The morning after we’promptly opened the safe.

Our front office spoke to you daily and you never complained during all of your stay, except from the first day smell.

Wishing you a more enjoyable,

Andrea Fiorentini

Minutes walk from the gardens, great restaurants, Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain, this hotel is a great place to stay. The bed was not the most comfortable, thin, and moved too easily. The view of the US embassy is nice. We asked for help with tours and they offer help and even offered to hook us up with guides, etc. Unfortunately their tour connections are too pricey. Their time and maps were really helpful. Our traveling partners had trouble with their room and were upgraded to a suite and given free food and wine. They take care of you.

Stayed 4 nights in this lovely hotel in a Superior Executive room on the 5th floor which was a good size with a nice large bathroom and a very large corner balcony which was amazing. It’s centrally located within walking distance to many attractions. The lobby, bar and restaurant are all very tastefully decorated with beautiful paintings. The buffet breakfast is excellent with a huge selection. The spa is nice (not a 5star spa like you would find in a Mandarin Oriental or Four Seasons) but it has a good sized whirl pool and sauna. Towels were is short supply the 2 times I visited and one of the staff was particularly unfriendly.

The only bad thing about this hotel……….the front desk staff were somewhat rude and generally very cold. They definitely need some proper training in customer service for a 5 star hotel!

After a terrible stay at the marriott courtyard airport hotel this hotel restored my faith in the marriott brand!

The hotel itself is in a beautiful building, with impressive decor and vey clean. Good location, friendly staff and wonderful breakfast.

Been disappointed by a few hotels in Italy but this one is amazing, highly recommended!
