“Great Location”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 October 2013

We spent the tail end of a cruise at Boscolo Palace. I must say the location is the best part of this hotel. It is located on Via Veneto which is a very ritzy street, all of the higher end hotels are located here. With all the peddlers around the city, this area feels a bit safer.
The staff were very friendly and the room was very spacious with little rooftop balcony. It is a "boutique" hotel, which is not my favorite. The décor was very modern and a little cold for my taste, stark black with white marble. The elevator barely fit 2 people inside with luggage. There was also a water pipe above our room that ran constantly.
However, it is centrally located and you are able to access the metro or a short walk to the Spanish steps, Trevi fountain, Pantheon, Piazza Navona, Villa Borghese, etc.
Restaurants on Via Veneto are pricier than if you walked a few block in either direction.
Overall a just a little above average rating.

Room Tip: We stayed on the 7th floor, which I think was the highest floor. There was a little balcony however...

Dear Guest,

First of all we would like to thank you for having chosen our Grand Hotel Palace.

We are glad to read that you appreciated our location and the staff attitude. On the other side, we are sorry you did not appreciate our refined interior design, but this is your unquestionable personal judgment.

We really hope you will give us the opportunity to serve you in the future and we kindly invite you to consider that since October 10th 2014 our hotel is part of the well-known chain Millennium and Copthorne.

This is an upscale hotel located within walking distance of all the major sites to see in Rome. It is not inexpensive but worth the price! I received a Marriott member promotion with my 2 night stay that gave me a complimentary bottle of wine served with olives and cheeses, breakfast for two each day and a 4 course dinner for two that was one of the best meals I have ever had. The promotion made the stay in the hotel very worthwhile as the cost of the dinner alone along with the two breakfasts would have been quite expensive had I had to pay for them. The staff was genuinely friendly, helpful and attentive which was impressive as the hotel was full to capacity during my visit.

We just spent 5 nights at the Boscolo Palace Hotel Rome. It is part of the Marriott chain but is more like a great boutique hotel. Located on Via Venetto it is directly across from the US Embassy. Our room was big by European standards with a king size bed, marble floors throughout out the room and the bath, a 40" flat screen TV, free internet and a great marble shower with a rain head shower. The bed was inviting and the hotel provided us with slippers and robes. A very nice touch. The hotel staff was super and had our room ready early as our flight arrived at 10 AM. They even provided us with a tray of "amenities" upon our early arrival--fresh fruit, cheese, crackers and bottled water. The staff was outstanding and the hotel was spotless. A great place to stay in Rome and we will book a room there again when we return to Rome.

Room Tip: The rooms on the 6th floor have no balcony. Request a room on the 5th floor for a balcony with tabl...

We stayed at the Boscolo Palace during spring break and loved this hotel, mainly for the wonderful staff and personal service. From the time we arrived both Fabiana and Cecilia provided personal service and ensured our stay was comfortable and special. There was a minor issue in the first room with the lights and we were quickly relocated to a new, even better room!

This is a very nice modern boutique hotel and the room was very comfortable and clean. Huge bathroom and loved the rain shower. The breakfast buffet was excellent and we had a wonderful server every day.

There is a small spa pool in the basement. It was warm and relaxing after a rainy day in
Rome.

Great location close to restaurants and walking distance to the Spanish Steps and other sites.

Would stay here again thanks to the wonderful staff!

First, let me start this review by saying that I've been a Platinum Marriott member for the past 8 years and I've stayed at some of the worst Courtyards, Residence Inns and Fairfields in the U.S. This "Autograph Collection" hotel is absolutely terrible and is one of the worst hotels I have experienced in my life. We stayed for 5 nights on points and that's the only reason we toughed it out. By the third night, we were looking into switching to a surrounding hotel because it was so bad. We stayed because everything around us was sold out. They wouldn't switch us to another room because they were sold out even though the hotel seemed completely empty. I wouldn't stay here again even if they paid me.

Negatives: Hotel rooms are not clean at all. Dried blood on the pillow (not the pillowcase, the actual pillow), disgusting smell coming from the bathroom, the air conditioner system was unable to regulate the temp in the room, etc. I could literally go on and on about how terrible this hotel is, but I think you get the point. If I could rate the hotel zero stars then I definitely would.

Positives: Location is ok, although the once ritzy Via Venetto is overrun by tourist trap restaurants and people trying to sell you junk on the street.

Marriott should be ashamed of this hotel.

Dear Sir./Madam,

first of all we would like to thank you for your time: the feedback of our guests is always important in order to check and improve our standards.

We really regret that your experience did not meet your expectations and we want to express our apologies for it.

Satisfying the requests of our guests to guarantee a pleasant stay is our main goal, therefore if there is any kind of problem we immediately try to solve it with the valuable cooperation of our staff, always available and ready to react. Actually in October the hotel occupancy was around 92%, so it could be possible that during your stay there was no room available to switch. Nevertheless, also when the hotel is fully booked, we try to change the accommodation if required at least for part of the stay, according to the availability.
Concerning the other issues you pointed out, we appreciate your honest review and we would like to clarify that we are not in any way questioning your judgement. Of course we are truly surprised that you left the hotel with such a negative impression. Our Housekeeping and Maintenance Departments check the rooms daily and we are pleased to inform you that if we realize there is a problem with the air conditioning, we have also the possibility to control the temperature from the Front Desk, it means that a full assistance is guaranteed at any time: please rest assured that we take your comment seriously and will investigate the situation.

We hope you would still visit our hotel and we will discuss the issues you experienced to find a way to win your trust back in Boscolo Palace.

Best Regards,

Andrea Fiorentini

This hotel was great for our first stay in Italy. We could walk to all of the major sites. We did take a taxi to Vatican City.
Free Wi-Fi; cold water waiting for you once you returned from your excursions were some of the perks.
Rooms were very comfortable; bathrooms large with huge walk-in showers.
The buffet breakfast here was something I had never seen. They had just about anything you would want.
We would definitely stay here again. Also this hotel just became part of the Marriott group.

Room Tip: Rooms on the fifth floor were a little smaller but you had a balcony which was awesome. You could h...

I stayed for a week at the Boscolo for a business trip. It is very different from most Marriott hotels because of the "boutique hotel" nature of the property. My room was large for a European hotel room. It was very stylish and comfortable. The bathroom was great with all the shower, and bath gels, and mouthwashes, and a showerhead the size of a garbage can lid. I was a Marriott member so breakfast was included in the price of my room. The buffet breakfast was wonderful with a great assortment of fruits, meats, breads, cheeses, and cereals. There were several minor issues. First, the room was as cold as a meat locker. I kept turning the thermostat up and it was still freezing (I slept in my sweatshirt and was tempted to sleep in the big, thick bathrobe that is in the bathroom). Second, the floors are marble so they are very cold and slippery and in the room directly overhead, there was a woman wearing stilettos that I heard every time she crossed the floor. Third, the beds were very hard. Other than that, very nice hotel and a great location.
