Although the room was a little small we didn't spend much time in it but the exceptional service of all the staff at the Sofitel more than made up for it. They could not have been more helpful with their answers to our questions and confirming our onward travel details for us.

Having never stayed in a Sofitel before I really didn't know what to expect, but Sofitel Rome bowled me over! The staff were so friendly and went our of their way to make us feel special. The private tour of Villa Bourghese was such a bonus and must do! The rooftop terrace has views over all of Rome and it is in very close proximity to the Spanish Steps and transport links. You will not regret staying here!

Room was great. Not huge, but certainly big enough by European standards. Service was excellent. Awesome place to stay. The location was fantastic, short walk from the Spanish Steps, Borghese Gardens, Via Veneto and Metro as well. We walked everywhere, and this was a great location to be based.

Don't miss the rooftop terrace restaurant for drinks or dinner. Best view is just at or after dusk.

The value was ok, it is not cheap. About $420 per night with tax. But it is consistent with other luxury hotels in that area.

Stayed here for a three night stay, Monday till Thursday, very welcoming porter and staff, could not do enough to make us feel comfortably, we dinned on the terrace the first night, great table looking over Rome, words can't describe the view, sunset over Rome, amazing. The only thing that could of been better was the bathroom, very small leak around the shower screen which let a small pool of water onto the floor when showering, the only thing they could improve on though....also great cocktail waiter.

Room Tip: Try and get a room as high as possible, better views the higher you go, we had a corner Rome which h...

This hotel is very well located near the Spanish Steps and other attractions such as The Pantheon, Trevi Fountain etc. The service is good though we did not get into our room as early as promised. We were upgraded to a beautiful Medici Suite with a balcony overlooking the nearby Park and all the historic sites of Rome. The bed is comfortable but no sheet was supplied and doonas on their own in mid-summer are too hot; especially if the air conditioning does not work properly. And it did not! Even though a guy came up to supposedly service it it never cooled the room properly and I couldn't sleep due to the incredible humidity in the room. Outside it was too humid and hot to keep the windows of the balcony open. For a hotel of this calibre charging the rates it does this was a real negative.
The restaurant on the top floor with the magic view is excellent - see my separate review of it.

Room Tip: If you can get one of the suites with balcony then go for it

Dear guest,

We are glad to hear that you have enjoyed our central yet quiet location as well as the breathtaking view from our panoramic restaurant.

Indeed, 'La Terrasse Cuisine & Lounge', overlooking the gardens of the Villa Borghese, the beautiful park of the Villa Medici, with the backdrop of the Dome of St. Peter's Basilica, offers a unique view of the "Eternal City".

At Sofitel, we strive to provide a superior service experience for every customer; therefore your feedback is very important to us.

We take this opportunity to inform you that sheets are available on request.

Moreover, we are very sorry if the air conditioning does not work properly. Please rest assured that we are taking the appropriate measures to address the problem and prevent future occurrence.

We are pleased to see that the rest of your experience was satisfactory.

We all look forward to welcoming you back soon.

We stayed in this hotel several times over the last 10 years. The service, the view are excellent but the hotel has not been renovated and needs new bathrooms.
It is centrally located and is walking distance to the Via Veneto , the Pantheon, Villa Borghese and the Spanish steps.
Rooms are quite small .

Room Tip: Try to get a higher floor so you have the view of the city of Rome.
