Best Western Globus Hotel

Reviewed 14 February 2014

Stayed in the BW Globus for 12 days. They were very friendly efficient, and esp. accommodating for families. Nice breakfast with meat, cheese, fruit, etc. included in the room price. They even brought us REAL cappuccinos from the kitchen if we asked! Clean, neat, good sized rooms, small fridge great for keeping snacks and extra drinks. Anything we needed, we just asked for. Coffee, tea, a tea kettle in the room, The only complaint I had was the walls are thin, and we had an adjoining room. The neighbors were very loud, and 2 of the nights it was difficult to sleep. Earplugs did the trick, but it was loud. This of course was not the hotels fault. A bit far from the central tourist area, but that's what it made it nice. Convenient to buses trams and Metro.

Room Tip: Try to be sure to not stay in an adjoining room, unless with your own family.

We stayed 4 nights at this hotel. Its a location not very close to the center of Rome but the Metro station is 5 minutes so it is easy to go wherever you like. Simple and clean rooms and a nice breakfast make this hotel a value for your Money.

The hotel itself was very clean, modern and very nice. The breakfasts were lovely. The reception staff were helpful too. The beds and pillows were firm and not what we are used to so we did find them a little uncomfortable.
The only downside is the location. We were aware of this when we booked it and I guess it is ok if you plan to be out all day and back in the evening and are not heading out again. We walked down the road between the university and police station which was a pleasant walk anyway. Be prepared to walk a lot in Rome to see the attractions! We did fit a lot of site seeing into three days.

The hotel is worth the price for the room, they gave us the top floor with terrace. The room was adequate, but the toilet was leaking. As we stayed there two nights had to ask for someone to get it cleaned atleast twice a day. And we felt they were understaffed as nothing we asked came to the room, like iron box and board. Slightly far away from the city but the metro is close by if you get your orientations right. No good restaurants nearby. Breakfast was just enough and nice.

The staff was friendly enough but no one went out of their way. The beds were hard and very uncomfortable but the room was a decent size with a small balcony that was great for enjoying at night. The hotel was not close to the city and a decent walk to the nearest train station (10-15 minutes). The area was near a local school and I did feel safe walking around at night since the streets did seem to have people walking around at different times.

When I stayed here in November it was worth the price for the room. The service and hotel were great overall. Some negatives would be that it's in a bad looking location so at first you get a bit scared. Second the walk to the metro is pretty far so it was challenging to come back to your room to rest after a long day.

A very nice hotel with big clean rooms. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

The breakfast buffet was pretty standard, but nice enough. The dinner buffet was not to our liking and the selection of food was a bit odd and it didn't look very appetizing so we went elsewhere.

On the first night our jacuzzi didn't work, but they had it sorted for the second night.

All in all a very nice stay.
