Located in the city center on walking distance to all major Roma top attractions you will enjoy this hotel . Discover also the panoramic terrace overlooking the historic city skyline. The room was very clean and silent on the hotels backside.Very friendly reception staff and free WiFi in the room. Close to the hotel there shops and several nice restaurants.

Room Tip: On reservation request a room on the backside and top floor rooms with private terrases.

Our very first night ever in Italy: Pace Helvezia Hotel
It was wonderful! We threw open the windows and actually enjoyed the buzzing traffic.
We were in Roma!
We stayed only two nights prior to a cruise, but enjoyed it enough to return 2 years ago (Dec 2009) for a week to celebrate my husband's 60th birthday. The location is wonderful. Central to most of the city. We were able to walk everywhere.
We totally missed the roof top terrace the first time but were so glad we wandered up the 2nd visit. The views of the city are fantastico!

The hotel could use updating, not to really modernize, but just a refresh.
They say they offer internet but both times it was so slow I was hardly able to log on in 10 minutes. Maybe that has improved. It may be the main reason we decided to try someplace new for our upcoming return to Rome this Spring. (I maintain a couple of travel blogs.)

The breakfasts are fantastic, the rooms are fine, with private, in-suite baths.
Again, the location is perfect. I would consider staying here again.

(note: last visit was Dec 2009, so maybe the rooms and internet are updated now.)

Room Tip: Rooms on the street can be noisy. While we enjoyed "the sounds of Rome" if you are a light...

Ideal location, however quite noisy. If you plan to sleep at all ask for a room in the back at reservation. Rooms are ok, old carpet, bathrooms appear recently renewed, the rest of the hotel would also benefit of a refresh!

Has free WiFi and mini-business facility.

Do not miss the roof terrace with a nice view of the Eternal City
!
Parking in a nearby facility at 30€/day, unrelated to the hotel.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms in the front - very noisy!

A wonderful find in Rome. Centrally located close to the Colisseum and Victor Emmanual plaza. Nice size rooms well appointed and quiet. Beware they have no parking facilities. It cost me 40 euros a night to park near by. I think they saw us coming. Excellent staff and a very good and assorted breakfast.

If you are looking for a hotel in the heart of ancient Rome, then this is it. Here central means just that - no need for taxis or buses, so more time to spend seeing what you came for. The hotel is very old and although it could do with a bit of TLC in some parts, it has everything a visitor to Rome needs. Standing outside the hotel door, you may decide to turn right. Just a few feet away you have the entrance to Trajan's Markets, down a flight of steps takes you to his column and there you are, looking out at the Vittorio Emmanuel Monument (make your own mind up about that...). Head left and amble past the Forum towards the Colosseum. If you decide to take a left out of the hotel, make for the little archway - within 5 minutes you will have reached the Trevi Fountain and 15 minutes on from there, the Piazza di Spagna. When you've had your fill of culture for the day and the feet are throbbing, grab a bottle of wine you may have bought from one of the local shops and head up to the terrace of the hotel. The views from here are absolutely breathtaking. Comfortable tables and chairs (and a hammock) are laid out and are perfect for seeing the city's rooftops. The 360 degree view allows you to take in the sights - far beyond the Colosseum you can see the Alban hills in the distance, in front the domes of the churches and the biggest of them all St Peter's. Depending on the time of year wait on the terrace for the arrival of the starlings - millions of them making their way to the trees on the Janiculum Hill providing a stunning display of aerobics before they finally swoop down to roost. I have stayed at the Pace Helvezia many times and it has taken me sometime to write this review as I have wanted to keep it to myself. So don't tell anyone......

Room Tip: The rooms don't really matter too much as having the terrace means you don't have to spend m...

A 12-15 euro trip in the taxi from the train station, although the first taxi in the rank was asking 25,check price before getting in the cab.The hotel is walking distance to most of the major attractions, the Vatican is in walking distance but I would go on a guided tour(hotel has info and they will book the one you want(most with hotel pick up) I recommend Carrani tour no 3 you see and learn more in a tour, and you miss the long lines for entry, frankly you can just do it yourself but it would be a mistake.the hotel is a bit tired but clean and the staff are great.the breakfast contrary to some posts,it ibetter than most European hotel breakfasts. If you are looking for a hotel that is clean, walking distance to major attractions, has great staff( and an awesome roof top terrace with amazing views)this is the place for you.
