We stayed here on a recommendation from the USO. I was really impressed with the value of the hotel and honesty of the hotelier. We stayed in the junior suite on the 5th floor. The rooms were immaculate and very large. Breakfast was fine with excellent coffee made to order. The price was very reasonable given the location...very close to metro and Vatican. All of the staff are very friendly and helpful.

Most importantly, the hotel worked with me on a booking mistake. They will also book taxis for you....their taxi was cheaper than the transpo I arranged myself.

The USO is right around the corner.

The only thing that could have been better was the bed....not the most comfortable.

we have been staying at this hotel since 2004 on our first trip to Italy!!! I will never waver. If I cant get in -- I will contact them personally and they remember me!!! They are located "down the street" from the Vatican. If you request, you can hire driver to pick you up at the airport and they will call reputable drivers to take you anywhere!!! Hotel is very well maintained and staff is the best in Rome!!!

Room Tip: Front rooms allow you view of lit up Basilica at night!!!

for those who like to explore the city. 13 mins walk to the vatican, 3 min walk to the metro, making this hotel ideal as a place to use as a base to be out all day and return to a warm comfortable room and it is quiet yet close by are many places to eat to choose from some cheap and some expensive. shops are nearby for those who like shopping. we found this hotel ideal for our needs of visiting the historic parts of rome.

Room Tip: bring your own kettle and tea cups to make yourself a drink in the room

Our travel agent booked this hotel for us for a three night stay prior to a cruise. We were surprised at the generous size of the room and delighted with the location. Great shopping on the two surrounding streets, good restaurants right outside the door and just a short walk to Vatican City! While the hotel is showing its age, it is clean and we'll maintained. We will stay there again on our next visit to Rome.

Have stayed at the Amalia hotel many times and this occasion lived up to my expectation. The hotel is clean and offers comfortable spacious rooms. I always book a superior room on the 5th floor and these are nicely decorated. The breakfast is quite basic and the coffee is dreadful but this is not important to me as I can eat in nice restaurants in Rome. I would recommend staying here due to the costing and location.

Room Tip: Choose a superior room on the 5th floor.

We are glad that you had a nice stay in Hotel Amalia Vaticano.
We apologize for the coffee, but next time go for the " Caffè espresso".
The Gaggia coffee machine makes a really good "caffe espresso".

Amalia Hotel is in a great location , 10 mins to the Plaza St Peter and 10 mins to the Vatican Museums. Very friendly staff always helpful. Rooms were clean , small shower but in need of a Little refurbishment. We were a family of 4 - found the hotel great value - we paid just over 700 euros for 7 days with breakfast - for an easter stay. The Little café opposite was our main base for eating lunch or dinner - 3 course menú with drink for 7 euros each - freshly cooked - ok for family - not a romantic dinner. Just be careful in the restaurants there is a service charge - one place it was 8 euros per person. We found the Amalia Hotel very pleasant, easy walking distance to all attractions. Suggest you book direct with them, also get them to book a Private taxi to collect you. Fantastic
