“Excellent hotel”
Reviewed 18 June 2014

We stayed at this beautiful, friendly, comfortable hotel 6/4/2014-6/7/2014 It is right across the street from the Vatican Museum entrance. The rooms were very clean, beds comfortable, bathrooms great (except no washcloths) which we found consistent throughout our European stay. Staff spoke english and was very helpful in recommending restaurants ect. However, There was a local lodging tax that they required we pay in cash that we were not expecting. We found we were not able to put tips at restaurants on credit card. It had to be in cash. Cabs were also this way. No credit cards accepted and cash tip. Breakfast quality was exceptional.

My husband and I stayed in Hotel Amalia Vaticano in early June. It was very close walking distance to the train station, the Vatican and major shopping streets. The hotel was incredibly clean and staff very helpful - making recommendations for places to eat and sight seeing information. The bed was very large and hot water plentiful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Rome.

A small, secure hotel in a fantastically convenient location in Rome. Close to the Vatican attractions, tram, bus and metro, shopping, postal service and restaurants, the hotel is hidden above street level in a quaint building with marble stairs, central courtyards and friendly, helpful staff. Spacious room and continental breakfast included. No restaurant but is surrounded by restaurants at street level. It suited my travel requirements very well. I would stay at this hotel again. Not quite four star but definitely more than three.

A great little hotel just between the Ottaviano metro stop and St Peters. Clean rooms, excellent staff and a superb real Italian continental breakfast each morning. Excellent cappacino; by the way!! Just a short walk to St Peters, the Vatican Museum, Castle San Angelo and excellent restaurants. This one is a great value!

Stayed there last week for 4 days. Located primely near the Vatican, and great places to eat, Amalia is a gem of a find. The staff (Maria and Leonardo) are very helpful and nice. The rooms are comfortable and spacious. The only downside is the noise from streets, because the area has cleaning in the evening, so the trucks are quite noisy. And a street side room would be tough to be quiet.

The place is not difficult to find, given its proximity to the vatican. Buses and Metro station (Ottaviano) are very near, making moving around the city very easy and convenient.

After a lot of search in the area, we found this hotel. The location could not be any better(close to all Rome attraction and directly next to the metro), rooms are very clean, staff are very welcoming and friendly.

I highly recommend this hotel.
