We had a great stay at the Colonna Palace Hotel. Situated within walking distance of everything this is a top spot for exploring Rome. The staff were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble, from extra pillows to extending our checkout time so we could use the room up until our transfer to the airport, worth paying the little bit extra so we could shower after another 30 degree day before getting on a 24 hour flight home! Breakfast on the roof terrace was good too!

The only good thing about this hotel is the location and frankly it's not worth it.

This hotel is very overpriced. It is in a great location, right near the Pantheon, however the rooms are total lucky dip. Our room was very dusty, the safe was broken and the beds were quite uncomfortable. In addition to this the toilet was broken and leaked all over the floor, and the breakfast staff woke us up at 6am each day moving tables around on the floor above us. The staff were very rude when we requested a cleaner room and asked for the toilet to be fixed. You have to pay €5 a day to use the hotel wifi, it's slow and you can only use one device at a time. For a hotel that markets itself as a luxury hotel free wifi should be a given, even the most basic hostels have it. They also made a recommendation to use the Ciao Roma hop-on hop-off bus tour, however this is definitely a mistake as the company does not run enough services to cover the number of passengers and many people with tickets are refused entry.

At the end of our stay the staff at the reception tried to charge us an extra €350 for "having an additional person stay in the room", despite our booking being made for two people and us already paying for two people. Upon asking about the room rates for 1 person it became very clear that they were trying to scam us and pocket the extra money and we refused to pay. They tried to argue about this for about an hour, including insulting us even after we had called our travel agent and confirmed about our booking. Eventually they gave up, but the whole experience spoiled the end of a great holiday. I would not recommend this hotel at all, it is a complete rip-off.

Room Tip: Make sure you ask for a clean room well below the breakfast floor.

We had a wonderful time during our stay at Colonna Palace Hotel,
The breakfast was incredibly good and not to forget the coffee that was served during breakfast. Our room was large and clean and housekeeping was great during our entire stay.
The service from the staff was very good, if it was something we wondered they were trying always figure it out.

Not to forget the best thing about the hotel where it is located. One could say it is in the middle of all the attractions. We never took a bus or taxi, except when we were going to and from the airport. Everything was in walking distance.

As most of the reviews say, this hotel is in a great location in the middle of Rome. Walkable access to most of the big attractions and facilitiesand. Exploring the interesting backstreets from here is a diddle too.

It has good 180 degrees views across Rome from the rooftop terrace.

The old geezer behind the bar next to the lobby couldn't have been more helpful, the same with the front desk staff.

Old fashioned, which I loved, except for the modernised bathroom fit out which was of a good standard. Spacious room, high ceiling and a window overlooking the piazza of the Parliament building.

Any negatives would be nit picking so I won't bother. We were pleased with our choice.

Recommended by our little group of travel buddies - Barry Turner and the Roamin' Ruins.

Room Tip: All 3 rooms our group had, all on different flors, we're good. Get one that overlooks the piazza...

This hotel is located in the very heart of Rome, 2 minutes from the Pantheon and in an area with lots of restaurants and small shops. During our weekend in Rome, we didn´t have to take a taxi or local transportation at all (we do like to walk a little though...) The hotel has a roof terrace with a beautiful view where breakfast is served. The staff was friendly, we didnt have any problems during our stay. The interior of the hotel is a little old but the room and bathroom were clean. The room was not very big but since we didnt plan on spending the time in the hotel room it was big enough. The room was quiet. The beds were not very comfortable though. The breakfast was nothing special but good enough. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who cares about the location and plan to spend most of their time in Rome viewing the city.

Myself and my boyfriend stayed in this hotel for 3 nights in June and unfortunately we were both hugely disappointed with the experience. On arrival, after having travelled since the middle of the night, we were informed that our double room had only been booked for 1 person and not for 2 people... Given how expensive the room was, we were outraged to learn that we had to pay an extra €40 per night to upgrade to a double room for 2 people. When I enquired what the difference in rooms was, I was told the extra cost was for additional towels and breakfast. The staff were incredibly rude when we questioned this, and not at all welcoming. In any case the room wasn't ready for nearly 2 hours so we had to wander off and pass the time, without being offered to hold our suitcase in the meantime. The room was extremely basic and old fashioned and not what it appeared to be on the website. In addition the use of wi-fi cost €7 per 24 hours. The breakfast was also very basic, given the cost of it. Although the location is very central, the additional cost and the rude and unhelpful staff, made our stay a huge letdown and I certainly would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
