We stayed here for two days while in Rome. The staff was very friendly and helpful, check in was easy and the room was perfect. I am giving it a 4 instead of a 5 because of a misunderstanding with the porter bringing our luggage to our bus at check out. We were told it would be taken care of at a certain time, when the time came we were told we had to pay for it. It was nominal however we should have been told when the arrangements were made by the front desk.

We stayed here last November with relatives including a young child and had a wonderful time.
The rooms were beautiful, very modern, stylish and cheerful. Service was excellent, and beds are very comfortable. We enjoyed the delicious breakfasts during our stay here. We plan to return in November this year for my brother's 50th Wedding Anniversary.

Room Tip: Nice views from the spacious balconies. It is easy to get to local transportation and the Borghese...

My wife and I are on a trip with Globus Tours from Kollinder World Travel out of Cleveland Ohio (Kathy Lee was our agent)... I mention those people/things because everything here has been so well done.. (starting with the hotel) and praise should be given when deserved! The Albani Roma Hotel is tucked out of the way in a quiet area of Rome (very very happy about that), as Rome is as vibrant as New York city. The old world roads are narrow and the tour bus has been great.. but the bus was too big to get back to the hotel (but IS taxi accessible).. the bell-hop drove the 3 blocks out to our bus and delivered our luggage to our room.. we walked the 3 blocks to the hotel as was expected of us and honestly enjoyed the (very short) walk, even after traveling for 20 hours to get here. I would NOT want have wanted to be on a noisy road (with exhaust fumes and all) as I first "experienced" Rome... in this hotel we are closest to old areas, all within walking distance (get used to walking in Rome) and the hotel provided excellent maps and directions (other tourists asked ME for directions which I was able to give!).. the room is well appointed and the bed is extremely comfortable.. the bathroom is very clean and the water pressure is good.. all seems recently updated without disrupting historic and original architecture charm.. the only thing that caught me off guard was that the window curtain is electronic.. I tried to close it for 3 minutes and probably would have broke it in frustration until I took the time to study the curtain track and realized it was motorized.. I suppose a label would have been helpful. Bottom line, bring good walking shoes and start your trip here (free WiFi btw).. very happy overall. Well done Kathy Lee... Well done Globus... and well done Hotel Albania Roma! We will definitely return!!

Employees at front desk are the most arrogant, uncommitted, unhelpful, complainig every time about their jobs conditions even in front of the costumers, I ever saw in 20 days in Italy!!!!
The only exception that must be warned is about Miss Giulia!!! She is absoluttely "out of profile": Friendly, helpful, polite.
Every night, around 4 a.m. there is a truck bringing things into the hotel and it works for about one hour!!! Just below the windows of the rooms that have balconys!!! Awful to sleep and get some rest!!!
I'am certain that I'd not recomend this hotel for nobody!!!

Room Tip: The rooms are not the main problem!!! The staff is!!!!

Excellent place to stay. Clean. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. 100m to get a bus to centre of Rome, lots pass (7mins) also to get a bus to Termini station. In the other direction, possibly 300m to get a tram to the Vatican (20mins). Lots of lovely places to eat round about. Only down side is (which has NOTHING to do with the hotel) lots of dog poo on surrounding streets. I will be recommending (and have) to friends who wish to visit Roma.

Room Tip: I think all the rooms would be quiet, as the hotel is in a residential area.

From the airport to the city center is a 40min cab ride. To top it off this hotel was not close to the center of Rome. It is located near Villa Borghese in a nice quiet neighborhood. There is a bus stop nearby that will take you to the center. We made the mistake of ordering a cab through the hotel (rates start @ 7.5€ ) vs. 3.5€ (if you hail your own cab) Total ripoff by the hotel...There is free wifi even though they say it's not free (unstable connection though). The rooms are completely outdated with a funky tacky decor circa 1970s. The beds and thin pillows were horrible!!! I guarantee you will wake up with neck, back, and shoulder pains. The rooms were a good size, especially the pink tub! I wouldn't call the Staff friendly but they were helpful and informative.

Stayed 2 nights at beginning of Globus Italian Mosaic tour. This was a great hotel, but you are very reliant on metro/bus/taxi to get you to any of the tourist sights you may want to see. (Unless you are willing to walk significant distances.) The hotel is sort of 'tucked' out of sight, but once you get there it is impressive - great colours, very clean, very accommodating staff. Lobby and bar areas are very nice. The breakfast room is large and well set out, but could not really cope with the 2 Globus tour groups and the 2 Asian tour groups that were all trying to have breakfast at the same time - both mornings! We were in room 119 - quite large, loved the colours. We had been given twin beds (not happy) but when I asked they were made up as a queen without any hassle. Our room was on the Via Adda side, with a view of part of Park Albani from our large window. The only problem with this was that on our second night, Via Adda was very, very noisy from about 10:30pm - taxis dropping people off, a garbage truck at 12:30am and then a loading van at 4:45am. Window couldn't be opened so you have to put up with air-conditioning. Wifi was very weak, but free. Bed and pillows were very comfortable. Bathroom large with good size bath and good shower strength, temp and spray. The loo was round!! There was only one chair (desk type) and the bed to sit on. The only mirror was the one in the bathroom - so don't try for a full-length check of your outfit before you go out. No tea and coffee making facilities (but that was typical of 95% of the hotels we stayed in when in Italy and France) The majority of food available at breakfast was sugar coated/filled/based - seems to be the common thing in the hotels we stayed in in Italy - don't get it??!! There were quite a number of restaurants within easy walking distance for dinners.
