We had one and a half days to tour Rome and our tour guide Marta Marsili helped make it spectacular! She helped us plan an itinerary of key sites in Rome and we were not disappointed. The Vatican, Pantheon, Colosseum, etc. as well as great suggestions for lunch and dinner while in Rome were first rate as well. Her knowledge and passion regarding Rome were wonderful. We can't wait to go back and spend more time in Rome, hopefully with Marta!

Marta guided us through Rome for three days this January. I traveled with my elderly sister who had knee problems, restricting our mobility and speed. Marta accommodated our needs perfectly. She chose paths that were as smooth as possible, found sitting places along the way to rest, and adjusted the speed without making us feel that we were holding things back. When we visited the Coloseum, she found an elevator to avoid the stairs. When we viewed the forum, we looked at it from a hillside above it. When we went to the Vatican, we discussed the artworks prior to entering it while we rested on a bench so that when we actually got to the art, we could better take it in. Her knowledge of art, history, religion, architecture... was just awesome. She answered every question we had in great depth. But not only did she know her stuff, she was a good teacher, making all that content interesting and accessible. She worked with me before we came to Rome to fit together our interests with workable tour sequences so that our tours were a custom fit to our group interests and needs. We had a wonderful experience with Marta. Without her, our visit to Rome would have been very shallow by comparison.

We spent 2 GREAT days with Marta walking around Rome. Our first day was spent at the Colosseum, the Forum and the Ancient Ruins. Marta provided much insight and history of the grounds and what we were seeing, Day 2 with her was spent at the Vatican, learning the history of the Vatican and the artwork that is there. Marta is student of Rome history and the art in the city. The days we spent with her was a great leaning experience. When we return to Rome Marta will be the first person that we will contact.

Rome was one of our stops on a 12-day Mediterranean cruise. We wanted to make the most of our 10 hours in port and show our kids as much of the city as possible. So, we hired Marta to take our group of 10 (2 families of 5 travelling together) to see the highlights. Ahead of time she answered numerous questions for us by email and helped us figure out how to reach Rome by train from the port, saving us hundreds of dollars. She was there to meet us at the station, and during our 7 hours together managed to show us the Coliseum, the Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, and the Vatican, including the Vatican Museum, the Sistine Chapel, and St Peter’s Basilica, before whisking us back to the train station. Marta true wealth of knowledge about all the sites and the city in general, combined with her skill in navigating the pubic transit system almost effortlessly and her ability to get us consistently to the front of lines – meant that we saw and learned more in one day than most tourists can manage in five. Throughout she was excellent with the kids, friendly, watched out for our best interests, encouraged questions and was entirely professional. Marta is a credit to the Rome tourism industry and our tour with her was worth every penny.

My wife and I were on our honeymoon in May 2013, and found Marta Marsili through a friend. We had been to Rome before but felt the private tour might add more value to understanding what we were looking at. While a few hundred euros for the afternoon, we greatly enjoyed our tour of the Vatican Museums and St. Peter's with her. She is very knowledgeable about art, history, and also really personable and genuine. We highly recommend her - email is martamarsili@hotmail.com
