Fantastic hotel - Fantastic Service

Fantasic hotel, fantastic people, and please ignore concerns on location. A 15min bus journey to 'Piazza Della Rovera' for just €1.50 will get you to the River Tiber and walking distance from all you want to see.

Staff were very helpful, polite, and in all the entire stay and experience was a very pleasant and affordable one. Would definitely recommend.

The pool and spa facilities were among my key reasons for booking for a 3 night visit but the city has so much to see you really won't have time to take advantage of this. Beautiful city and great hotel!

Also don't make our mistake! Cab from Fiumcino to hotel- 60€. But shuttle bus (30mins) from hotel to airport just 14€ each.

Nice hotel but know where it's located!

We just returned from our week stay in Rome at the Crowne Plaza. We knew when we booked the hotel that is was located outside of the city center. The people that gave this hotel a bad review because of the location should have done their research before booking the hotel. We knew going in that we were going to have to take a bus to get into the city center and it was simple - the bus stop is located steps from the hotel entrance and we never had to wait to long for a bus. We look bus #98 or #881 to the stop near the Vatican and from there we could catch a bus to any part of Rome we wanted to go. Our room was good-sized, clean and comfortable. We found, contrary to some other reviewers, the staff to be very helpful and friendly. We were always greeted with a smile. The only disappointment was the lack of options for dining. We returned to our hotel at 8:00pm on a Friday night after a long tour to Assisi, hoping to eat at the restaurant in the hotel, but it was closed. There is one restaurant nearby but not much else close to the hotel. It also would have been nice to have place to grab an espresso and pastry in the morning before heading out, but not a big deal. Overall, I we were very pleased with our stay.

Room Tip: Request a room with a pool view.

Regarding your comments about dining options, allow me to put on record that we have 2 Restaurants inside the Hotel: “Papillon” located behind the bar open daily from 11am to 10.30pm, “Jardin d’Hiver” mainly used for breakfast or special events (banquets, weddings, business lunches) located on the ground floor just on the rights side of the elevators. We apologize in case we missed to give you the rights information. Bar & Restaurant are never closed and open 365 days. Moreover we provide 24hours room service with many dining options.

It is our goal to consistently provide customer satisfaction and your comments are very important to us.

Accommodation

The hotel location is very nice, room are clean & spacious but far from the tourist attraction. Shuttle bus only run to the Basilica in the morning. Coming back to the hotel you have to take public transportation. Poor service & concierge was not too helpful. I called the front desk to let them know that the balcony door lock was not locking. I was told that she will send someone, that's around 1:00pm we just wait & wait until 5:30 pm I called again cause we're planning to go out for dinner & we cannot open the safe. A service person came in to check the problem & said that he will come, we have to wait for another 45 minutes for him to open the safe. While the service person was in the room we asked him if he can fix the balcony lock which he did. There's no other restaurant I nearby the hotel. The train station to go to Vatican is not accessible.we were told by the concierge that's it's only takes 10 minutes to walk but it's not safe cause you're walking in the freeway.

Room Tip: Check the location of the hotel, look for the hotel adjacent to the attraction like walking distance, read the review

We are happy to learn that you loved the location of the hotel, the cleanliness & spacious of the room.

Regarding the shuttle bus, as you mentioned, I would like to underline that the Hotel offers a regular courtesy bus (1,50€ one way, 3€ return), greatly appreciated from all our guest staying with us. The bus runs on a regular basis to St. Peter's Basilica in the morning (9-10-11-12) and to the heart of the city center (Trastevere) in the afternoon (16-17-19-20-21) and evening.

On the other hand, we are terribly sorry to learn your problems experienced with the balcony of the door and the attentiveness of our concierge. We have discussed the points you have raised with our Front Office Manager and Engineering. We know they share our vision of providing the best guest experience possible, and we are confident they will take the necessary steps to continue to improve their services and they will be more vigilant to be sure that similar inconvenience will not be repeated in the future

By reading your review we see that you didn’t’ find shops, restaurants (Arturo just at the doorstep of our Hotel) , bars, cafes and supermarket available in a small village 300 meters on our left hand side.

Excellent service

When we arrived, our rooms were not really as expected, we were allocated two large twin rooms to cater for a couple and an adult sharing with two children, all of which was clearly stated on our booking form. After one, not ideal, night the management moved us very promptly and helpfully to new rooms as soon as we raised our concerns. We were three adults travelling with a 12 and 14 year old, so the fact the hotel had a swimming pool was a deciding factor for us. It wasn't till we got there that we discovered that children were frowned on in the indoor swimming pool. It turned out not to be a problem, and the spa manager allowed the children to use the pool with supervision but it came across as a concession due to the hotel not being over occupied, rather than their standard practice. I fully understand that many adults would want to be 'child free' on holiday or business travel, but I feel this should be made more clear on the holiday details. If I ever get the opportunity to go to Rome again, I would save up and pay the extra to stay in the heart of old Rome. Minor details personal to me excluded, I would say this is a fantastic hotel, full of extremely helpful staff, I wholeheartedly recommend it.

Nice Property

Very nice and comfortable rooms. Very pleasant staff. On the negative, the hotel is not located close to the tourist sites and requires either a cab ride or a tour pickup at the hotel. The hotel staff arranged a very reasonable tour and pick up at the hotel.
We ate at the restaurant and were not very satisfied with the food. Better can be had in the city proper at a lower price.
