Despite the garbage filled entry this hotel is a little gem in the centre of Rome. It has the smallest lift and bathroom I ever seen. The breakfast was great (packed a roll for later) and the staff brilliant. Very central and a walk to everywhere. Trip booked to Vatican was only €63 and skipped the ques... They booked our trip to airport for €50 but we got a bus into Rome.

Room Tip: Booked thru Ryan air...over priced+

Having done my research via Trip adviser, of course, came across this hotel.
It appears to be in a little back street but this enables a quieter accommodation as Rome never sleeps!! We found the staff very helpful and accommodating. Very willing to help and make suggestions. The hotel was very clean and that also goes for the room. The only downside was the breakfast. A bit basic and the staff her were not very interested. Saying that, it was but a blip in a very pleasant stay. I would recommend this hotel to all my friends.
The bar, although quiet (and sometimes in Rome, this is refreshing) was a great place to just relax.

Room Tip: Our room was at the side of the property and very quiet.

A friend and I stayed at this hotel for five nights. When we first checked in and saw our room, we were underwhelmed - not that it was terrible, but just didn't seem to consistent with the reviews we had seen on the site on which we booked. By the time we'd been there a couple of days, we'd decided it was wonderful.
The location was great and Angelo, the concierge, was so helpful and his restaurant recommendations spot-on. The view from the breakfast room was lovely. The breakfast was what I'd come to expect in hotels in Italy, but what I liked most was that the attendant had noticed on my first morning that I was trying to make tea in a small cup. The next morning, she gave me a teapot of very hot water; it was a great start to the day. Would stay here again.

Have stayed here for work and with family. Extremely well-located for easy access to many of the most famous sights in Rome. Rooftop room for breakfast is very nice but breakfast itself needs a bit of attention. Reception bar a nice spot for a night cap, wifi works well throughout the hotel. Plumbing is fine. We had a terrace off our room (311) which, even with a massive air con unit just next to it, was useful when travelling with a baby.

Room Tip: 311 has its own private terrace but is also near the breakfast room, so you hear them setting up form 6am if you are a light sleeper

My wife and I stayed at the Bolivar Hotel for 4 nights at the end of February 14.It is located centrally and we never walked for more than 10 minutes in any direction to reach a major attraction. The front desk staff (Angelo e Sante ) were extremely friendly and helpful and the breakfast also was very good on the top floor. If i have a chance to return to rome i will return to Bolivar Hotel
