“A nice surprise”
Reviewed 28 June 2013

This hotel was surprisingly nice for the price. The room was large, included a mini-bar and had a good bathroom. The breakfast was complete. The folks at the desk spoke excellent English and were quite helpful. The location is definitely off the beaten path -- beyond the Villa Borghese Park and Gallery. Nearby metro service. Limited number of restaurants in walking distance.

Room Tip: Our room opened onto a courtyard -- and was very quiet.

Stayed for a single night at the Beverly Hills Rome hotel. Chose this hotel for its rating and reasonable cost. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The bathroom was extremely small and cramped, particularly the shower stall which was barely big enough for an adult to turn around while showering.
The cost was very reasonable compared with other hotels in Rome and is reflective of its location away from the tourist attractions. It is still perfectly feasible to walk to all the major attractions within 30 minutes. The Forum, Palatine and Trevi Fountain can be reached in 15-20 minutes. The Borghese villa and park are just a 5 minute walk away. Overall, it worked well and I would consider staying here again.

Room Tip: streetside rooms may offer a better view, but are quite noisy with traffic and sirens.

This time we stayed in this hotel as a family again. We had a great time.

Location
The location of this hotel is far from the touristic points in Rome, you can move around in bus by 20 minutes away to downtown. The hotel location is good for anything such as restaurant, cafe and shops and close to the Villa Borghese and park.

Breakfast
The breakfast was good: scrambled eggs, one type of ham and one type of salami, different types of breads, fresh fruit salad, coffee, tea, water and juices from a machine.

Front Office
Staff was very helpful especially concierge . Front desk was helpful giving information about how to get around. They also gave a map with information on getting from and to the hotel using taxi and where to go in Rome.

The Room

The rooms at top and old but it was great we did not get any problem at all. The bathroom was big enough.

Overall

The hotel is located outside the main core of tourism in Rome but still very accesible to everywhere. Public transportation bus is available within 3 to 5 minutes.

I recommend this hotel to everyone to stay in Rome.

Very nice and clean hotel in Rome. Near the Villa Borghese and park. ( 500 yards or so) Staff was very helpful and in our visit breakfast was included and was well done. Took a little time to figure out how to leave your key pass in the inside slot to leave lights on but have done that before so quickly figured out why the lights kept going out.Nice beds and change of towels etc. We had an average priced room but a nice view and for europe a good sized room. Not particularly close to the main attractions of Rome but taxis are affordable and the hotel will call for one. Rome is a city where you can not hail a cab and they have taxi parks where you are supposed to pick them up. Also, while we were there they had one of the many strikes that are common in Italy and the road maintenance workers were on strike near us. Cabs were not coming out unless called. Also, you will pay something 2-3 euros for them to come out an pick you up. Fare does not just start when you get in. Would stay again but would consider one closer to Piazza Navona or Forum if price allowed so I could walk to attractions..

Not the best location. Quite a walk to the sites, although we did still walk. Stayed in March and the heat wouldn't turn down. The rooms were waaay to warm! They were clean and checkout was quick. I still prefer the Splendid near Vatican City.

The room is quite large with a good sized bed & comfortable pillows. The bathroom is ok, but no bench / vanity space to put your makeup etc. not enough power outlets to charge devices - one in bedroom n one in bathroom. No kettle for tea/coffee. No ironing board or iron & not allowed to have use of one. Laundry was not taken to be done, even after a call to housekeeping very early in the day. On asking, I was told well, it is now all closed, so nothing can be done. That is why I asked for an iron - told not allowed. Lift is extremely tiny and vey slow. Breakfast is a basic European one.

We were assigned this hotel through an excursion from our Cruise Line ( Holland America)- it was not our first choice because of ratings and location. Both concerns turned out to be legitimate. It is not within walking distance to any of the major attractions. It is in a typical downtown residential/business area. Lots of banks and small businesses, some restaurants. A few blocks walk to the tram, and then a 15 minute ride to the subway, and then a transfer to the get to the Coliseum/Forum. The train does not go the the Vatican or Piazza Navona or Trevi area. We had booked a Hotel within walking distance, but HAL assigned us Beverly Hills.
Check in was rapid, our room was ready at 10:30 AM, which was nice after an overnight flight from Newark Lobby is not large, no shops, one restaurant. Buffet continental breakfast (included) was basics- breads/rolls/pastries/cheese/some fruit/etc. Adequate to stock up for a busy day of exploring. The elevators are TINY. Not enough room for 2 people and 2 average sized suitcase. It took 3 trips to move 2 people, 3 cases, and 2 carryons. The room was nice. Firm bed, good size-especially by European standards. Older, not antique furniture. Very clean. Bathroom adequate, but with a common European problem that the shower door did not seal, and the spray is directed straight at the door, so the floor invariable gets soaked. The view was of the streetscapes.
All in all, a nice, clean, quiet place to sleep. Caterers to groups. If you go without a tour, plan on time and money for cabs to get around.

Room Tip: due to tiny elevator, try to get a lower floor
