“Clean good Location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 August 2013

The staff ere very helpful, located on a main road in a great location close to transport. The room was clean and had a new bathroom. Hotel breakfast was adequate. wifi was a bit touch and go. Overall very enjoyable stay.

Hotel has good conection (direct bus 92 from Termini to Po Simeto and then 100 m to hotel, only 5 bus stops). Nice room, very small bathroom (from shower you step right to bide ??), good breakfast, helpfull stuf, price for Rome very good. Recomend for all self explorers of Rome.

This place was actually nice. Really. It's clean, offers good service, and has all the usual amenities. But I wasn't a HUGE fan of it. It was too... tacky? Touristy? Maybe it's just me, but to put the word "grand" into the name of your hotel, it has to be Bellagio grand. And I didn't get the "Beverly Hills" part.. Yes, it was well-furnished and the staff was fluent in English. However, I just didn't like the interior design and having to pay between 5 and 6 euros for only 24 hours of WiFi, and you couldn't even use their own computers for free (5 euros for an hour, if I remember correctly).

The rooms are on the smaller side, but the desk offered a great place to put your suitcase. The bathroom shower is one of those shower-bath combinations, and the glass shield only covers about a third of the bathtub and isn't stable so beware not to splash water everywhere. There isn't much storage space for your toiletries either. However, the water pressure is great. :)

The breakfast is fine. Not great eggs, bad Nescafe coffee, fruit, cereal, pastries, okay juice, etc. Try heading to the cafe across the street for good coffee. :)

Amenities:
-ethernet plug-in
-not-free WiFi, but still available for use in rooms
-shampoo and conditioner, body wash gel
-bidet
-window with no screen
-air conditioner
-desk with TV

This hotel is at least a 30 minute walk from any popular sight (Spanish steps is one of the closest). I found this quite inconvenient, personally. But some people prefer it. Consider walking down Via Salaria and Via Po for at least 10 or 15 minutes to stretch your legs and then take a 5 euro cab ride from there to Largo Tritone or Piazza Barberini. This will not only save you time, but Via Tritone is a large street to walk down with lots of great shops and gets you to the Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, etc. a hell of a lot faster. It's also less lazy than taking a cab straight from your hotel to the busy spots, which costs you more money plus you miss out on experiencing the rest of the city.

There is a market right next to the hotel on most days that sells jewellery and clothing, among other things that I didn't really notice. Give it a look and you may end up buying a great pair of "activity pants" (chill-out, hipster-looking, breezy pants) for 10 or 12 euros.. like I did. :) I love them and I get so many compliments on them! My sister also got two maxi dresses for around 35 euros.

One more point (unrelated to the hotel specifically, but since you're far from downtown you will most likely be taking cabs often, so it's kinda related): When taking a cab, say "Buongiorno/Buenosera, Via (that means "street") whatever, per favore" and speak as little of your native language as possible after that. Have your map with you in case your taxi driver tries to take detours and rack up the price. Ask where he/she is going if you are unsure.

A good value hotel which is well furnished and tasteful. It was obviously once a very smart hotel. A little way out from the centre of things, but not too far for good walkers. The rooms were very clean although on a noisy main road. Room service was very good and reasonable. There were no tea or coffee making facilities in the rooms, but a mini bar was available. Staff were very friendly and pleasant. I would stay here again as it was clean and unpretentious and the bar was very good - service with a smile. Behind the hotel is a very lively market and local shops which are very reasonable indeed. We did not actually walk behind the hotel until our last day, this was a big mistake as there is lots to see there which is catering for local people.

Room Tip: Rooms on the front are very noisy. I assume rooms on the back of the hotel are much quieter.

The room was on the small side. The bathroom was a wonderful size, but I'm just so over showers over baths. Climbing in and out of a bath with arthritic knees is a hazard, and they always manage to put water all over the floor, making another hazard. Breakfasts were adequate. Best thing was the little family-run restaurant around the corner and across the road - it was awesome. Wifi was only available in the foyer.

Stayed in this hotel Friday to Monday and found it well above what the reviews had said,it was nice and laid back well away from the hustle and bustle of the main tourist area, the staff were really friendly and the hotel itself was nice and clean, try the little bar over the road for and chill out night

It was with trepidation that I checked into this hotel owing to some fairly dismal reviews contained herein. My business contact in Rome had made the reservation. But I must report that, given these low expectations, I was pleasantly surprised. My room was spacious, clean and comfortable (I did request a room one notch above the standard room). Especially noteworthy was, for a hotel in this price range in Rome, the quality of the mattress and bath towels of decent size and thickness. I had no complaints about the service during my stay and the staff manning the front desk, if not overly congenial, were nonetheless responsive and helpful. I did regret the absence of a fitness facility.

The hotel is not centrally located. But the 63 bus takes one into central Rome in above 15 minutes at a cost of Euro1.50 each way. It is not that inconvenient. But get advice as to where to get off on the return ride. One way streets takes the bus route into areas you likely unfamiliar with. Bus tickets must be bought at one of the many Tabacchi shops. But note that these shops tend to be closed on Sunday. So plan ahead.

Travel generally can be something of a crap shoot. I had a good experience this one time. Others have had less success. So I would still be cautious. "You mileage might vary".
