“Hotel ok, poor location”

Hotel is fair. Reasonably clean but too far outside Rome. Buffet breakfast reasonably good. Our double room was 2 single beds pushed together. Taxi driver tried to rip us off by going scenic route- taxi cost €14 on way in to city and €28 back that night! On check out then we were told there was a €50 charge for a film we watched even though we hadn't turned on the television!! Be careful of that scam - charge was miraculously dropped when we argued!!

My wife and I stayed 8 nights at the Zone and we were not disappointed. It is hard to narrow down all the good things about this hotel, but I'll try. First is the free breakfast buffet every morning from 06:30-10:30. WOW! Everything you could want(including delicious coffee that hits the spot before venturing out in your Rome excursion). Second is the free wi-fi which we found to be very good and so convenient while traveling abroad. Third is the free shuttle they offer into the city center. You must sign up for a reservation to get on it, as it only carries 8 people in the van. They pick you up as well and bring you back. The housekeeping was impeccable and we came back every evening to fresh towels and a made bed. The gentleman at the desk seems to work around the clock and is extremely courteous and patient with guests. The train station is just down the hill, which makes it easy to get to and from the city at will (just take the train to Valle Aurelia, transfer to Line A and get off in the city). We ended up taking the train from the airport to the hotel and walking from the Balduina stop. It is in a quiet residential neighborhood which made for peaceful sleeping, which was in contrast to the travelers we met staying in the city who complained of cars and people walking past their windows at night. Final thought is that this place was SO worth it! If we find ourselves in Rome again, we will be sure to stay at the Zone.

Room Tip: The rooms are not very sound proof, which is common in Rome, so we would recommend not getting a gro...

Lovely clean hotel and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The shuttle bus was very handy as the hotel was quite far from the tourist part of Rome (though close to the Vatican). But the walk home was very hard after a day of hiking around the ruins and city as it is at the top of a hill. The gym at the hotel was very good compared to other hotels I have been to. If I was to go to Rome again, I would not stay here purely on the fact that it is so far from the city centre even though it claims on the website "a stones throw away".

Three friends and I arrived in Rome late on a Sunday evening, we had arranged with the hotel for a transfer to pick us up at a set time, as it was late and we had not stayed in Rome before and did not know where we were going. However we waited for an hour and still no transfer arrived. We then were forced to arrange to get to the hotel ourselves and ended up paying for a very pricey taxi. When we eventually arrived at the hotel we were shouted at by a very rude receptionist who told us that our taxi was there now waiting for us, which is no help two hours after you've landed.
The hotel was much further than it has described, "a stones throw from the Vatican", turned out to be 25 mins in a taxi, or else walk through a very unfriendly area.
The double bed I had paid for turned out to just be two beds pushed together, which was disappointing.
The building itself is very nice, even if the walls were paper thin. The maids did a good job, it was very clean.
When we went to leave for our very early flight we were made to pay a large amount of city tax, which I was told was included in the original price. Meaning that we did not have enough euros to pay our airport transfer, (€70). We then had to pay our minibar bill, which they insisted we paid at the end, despite that being 4:30am, instead of the previous evening, by another rude unhelpful receptionist.
There were far too many problems caused by this overpriced hotel for my 2 day stay in Rome, I would not recommend it to anyone.

Just returned from a three day break to Rome to take in some sights and watch Italy v Wales in the 6 Nations. From start to end all of the staff from the bar/restaurant to reception were fantastic and very helpful and I would definitely stay there again. The hotel is easily suitable for business/couples/family/friends or solo visitors and I would recommend it to anyone.

The only criticism is the location being just outside the centre but to counter this they have complimentary bus service in to the city at regular intervals. There is also the train/metro service a short walk away which is also an experience. The rugby result was the icing on the cake.

Thank you once again Pantea and all your colleagues. Fantastico.

Family of three we stayed in Zone Hotel for about 8 days in January 2013. At first I was criticized by my daughter, a budding archeologist, for getting a little out of the center of Rome, however after the first night it became obvious that Zone Hotel was the answer to getting a good rest, after trudging around the ruins and archeological sites all day long. The staff of this hotel are absolutely the friendliest and most helpful people of any hotel I have been to. Special thanks go to Anka, who did marvelous job assisting us to obtain tickets to Genoa at short notice. Special thanks to the mini bus drivers who went out of their way to show us best ways to see Rome. January in Rome is a pretty rainy time, Zone Hotel lends the Umbrellas to guests, just a a little gesture but a very helpful one. Mr. Roberto at the desk, gave us advice any time we asked for it. And the most important thing is that staying at the Zone Hotel will not send you to the poor house, for a four star hotel its prices are very reasonable. And buffet breakfast, served under the glass roof takes your breath away.
Note to Anka: I still have not been able to find @ on an Italian keyboard.

Room Tip: You can prepay Zone little extra to prepare a special room for you. All rooms are very, very quiet.
