LOCATION! LOCATION! LOCATION! In the Heart of Trastevere: which means, narrow alleys for walking, gelato, great restaurants, gelato, shopping, gelato, bakery, church, people watching, and just soaking up Rome!!
We will be back. Ages 18-78 and we loved the Loft. Playing cards and games, early morning coffee, or late night wine on the deck.
Kitchen was ideal, lovely bedrooms, perfect table and seating for everyone's comfort. Easy walk across the River, taxi stand, totally appointed Loft.
Assistance from Martin, Elizabeth, and Alessandro made it So enjoyable with their ready assistance. Loved it.
If you are looking for the "best of both worlds" for your next visit to Trastevere, I can't recommend the Nobleman's Loft more enthusiastically. By "both worlds" I mean a temporary home that is spacious, comfortable, packed with features, gorgeous, historic, and reasonably priced......coupled with a prime location in the heart of Trastevere - steps away from countless restaurants, plazas, shops, public transit, and gelato.
There are five bedrooms and four bathrooms with large beds. On the top floor are two very spacious bedrooms, each with their own bathroom. On the first floor there are three bedrooms - one by itself with its own small bathroom, and two other bedrooms that share a bathroom. One of these bedrooms has no windows and is very cozy (or potentially claustrophobic), while the other has a small private patio and a large window.
We found the entire apartment to be spotlessly clean and greatly appreciated the stocked refrigerator upon our arrival (available for a fee) after a long flight. The apartment features huge windows that let the breeze flow through. The front windows overlook a very busy street - Via Della Renella (note: VERY loud with partiers at night - bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper) and the rear windows overlook a charming and peaceful courtyard.
Alessandro, the house manager is AMAZING. Fluent in English, hysterically funny, and helpful beyond measure - he made our arrival so easy and enjoyable. Thanks, Alessandro!!
My family of 8 very much appreciated how the apartment facilitates both "alone time" - there are plenty of spaces (outdoor patio, for example) where you can be alone and read or doze....as well as "group time" - including a huge table where everyone can gather for a meal or just hang out and chat, as well as comfy sofas in the small living room.
I can't emphasize enough how enjoyable it was to simply walk down a few flights of stairs, turn left or right, and then IMMEDIATELY be in the fun and bustle and joy that is Trastevere. Half a block away is La Ranella, a terrific bakery with amazing pizza and other baked goods. Highly recommend!! Fior de Luna (gelato) is also very highly recommended - all organic and high quality (not watered-down and compromised for tourists). We had dinner at Der Bella around the corner from the apartment. Quite good with fun waitstaff. There are two mini-marts within a block that sell drinks and other handy things (paper towels, snacks, milk, etc.)
A few MINOR and miscellaneous things to note (these are not "complaints", just observations): the wifi can be somewhat sluggish when a large group is online at the same time, there are at least 3-4 levels of narrow stairs to climb to reach the apartment, there are no screens on the windows (a few flies, but not too many, entered the apartment), and we found the clothes washer/dryer in the kitchen to be quite tricky to use (e.g. one must empty water from the dryer after each use).
It was actually somewhat "emotional" when we had to leave the apartment - all eight of us loved it so much. If you are thinking of staying here, just do it - you will not regret it. Enjoy!!
My sister, neice and I stayed at Martin and Elizabeth 's apartment in February and really enjoyed it. Very professional service, everything was taken care of as promised. It was their first time in Rome and I love the Trastevre area, so picking this location worked out perfect. Of course the apartment was larger than we needed, but it had everything I wanted for a memorable trip for my family. Would recommend Martin and his professional staff to anyone looking to stay in Rome. Forget hotels, this is the only way to go.
We were a group of nine people to visit Rome, and we couldn't have enjoyed better this beautiful apartment. Its an amazing and beautifully restored old apartment with all the comfort of a modern home. Vary spacious, comfortable beds, fully equipped kitchen. The neighborhood is amazing with lots of shops, restaurants ideal to walk through the cobble stone streets of old Rome. Many useful tips and programs also. We'd love to be back.
We (4 couples and one kid) had a great time in Roma. Martin, Alessandro and the whole team are fantastic and very professional. They organized a lot for us...when we arrived at the airport we were picked up and welcomed by Alessandro. For a big group the Historic Nobleman´s Loft is a perfect place. With five bedrooms and four bathrooms it is really comfortable. On the one hand you have your private space and on the other hand there is the big living room where you can sit together. The kitchen is really good equipped. We enjoyed great meals. And of course we enjoyed Roma. On the first day we had a guided bike tour which was also organized by Martin and his team. The bike tour gave us a good overview. Also the cooking event was great:-)! Trastevere is a great part of Roma. There a lot of bars, cafes, restaurants, shops...Our impression was that it is not so crowded and has a great atmosphere. Next time we would also stay in this part. Martin, Alessandro, Leonardo and the rest of the team: thank you so much for making our stay in Roma fantastic!
This is a great family vacation rental in a super convenient spot. We were close to the market, to shopping, and to gelato and pasta shops. It was only about a half hour walk to the Vatican and to the Colisseum. We could literally walk everywhere we wanted to go. Martin had stocked our fridge before we got there (what a GREAT idea!) and had gotten us a poinsettia and a chocolate nativity for Christmas!
Thanks Martin and Elizabeth and Alex, for such a nice welcome
Trastevere is the most wonderful area in Rome and the Noblemans Loft is the best place to stay.. we were a large family group, from 12 years - 79 years and all loved it.. very central to Rome and lovely restaurants around.
Don't visit here if you have a problem with stairs, there are a lot.
We were met at the door, let in and showed around.. the central room is 2 stories high and lovely.. 2 main rooms are very comfortable. Kids in the next 2 that seem able to close off if you don't have a very large group.. 2 single beds in the other room. you could sleep up to 10 very comfortably.
The kitchen is well fitted out with everything you need. It was lovely and warm inside even when cold out.. if you are in Rome then this is the place to stay ...
