We stayed 5 nights in this Rome Hotel. It is a wonderful hotel .
Its location is great and the staff very friendly and professional.
Room we stayed in was very clean and comfortable. Level of Hygiene throughout the hotel was great. The use of free wifi within the room was a bonus.
In general great hotel to visit Rome. Highly recommended

We came to Rome to revive my father’s memories of this city about 50 years ago and myself, being the second time here, to enjoy the strength of Roman culture and art so vivid in every inch of this land. But, by the Dorica`s hotel staff, Marco and his coworkers, we were reminded in the most pleasant way, that people are the real value and the strength of some nation…

My partner and I have just returned from a 4 night trip to Rome where we stayed at the Dorica. It is a fabulous hotel in a great location with the friendliest staff you are ever likely to come across.
We flew into Fuimicino and caught the Terravision bus to Termini (16 euros return for the two of us) The Dorica is an easy 15 min walk from Termini so don't bother with taxi's.
The hotel itself is spotlessly clean and the rooms are simply furnished but very roomy and airy.
Marco on reception was so welcoming and helpful. Showed us our room and gave us the local map and directions to get our bearings.
The hotel is within walking distance of everywhere so really convenient and the area it is in feels very safe even at night.
Once we checked in we went straight for lunch at Strega (200yards from the hotel on the left had side of the square) great food and packed with locals so we knew we weren't getting ripped off.
Breakfast the next morning was a little bit strange. The dining room is teeny (about 9 tables) so lots of people were turning up to find no space and being asked to wait in reception or go back up to their rooms and they would be called when a table was free. To be honest, nobody had to wait long (I've never seen tables cleared down and relaid so quickly!!).
Breakfast is very simple - fruit juice, coffee/tea, crusty roll with pack of cheese, yoghurts, fruit and pastries. It's all fresh and served by another extremely polite, helpful member of the Dorica staff.
We would definitely recommend the hotel and would stay there again ourselves if we are lucky enough to get back to Rome.
The only two slight niggles I had were:
1) it is on a busy road so either ask for a room at the back or take earplugs - even the widows and shutters don't block the noise out
2) the hotel website says it has air conditioning (I am permanently hot so we never book anywhere that doesn't have air con!). However, what it doesn't say is that the air con is not on in May. It was over 80 degrees on Saturday and and not far off on Sunday so really really needed the aircon. We asked at reception for it to be put on but it is centrally controlled so nothing they could do.
Only slight niggles for an otherwise fantastic stay.

Hotel Dorica, on a side street but near a main street, is in the best location I have had in six trips to Rome. The staff was very friendly and helpful, recommending very good, reasonably priced, non-touristy restaurants near the hotel, and providing tips on the best way to get to attractions. The hotel is near a metro station, within an easy walk to the Roman Forum and a quick subway ride to Vatican City. My group used two rooms - a triple on the front side overlooking the piazza across the street, and a double on the back side of the hotel. Both rooms were clean and well-maintained, with bathrooms with blow dryers and roomy showers. The double room (on the same level as the front desk, first room on the left down the hallway) had a mattress that was like sleeping on a board and a window that opened on to an enclosed courtyard where cleaning supplies were kept. The building is 4 or 5 stories, so the room was gloomy, with little natural light. I noticed when walking down the hallway that the key to the courtyard area was left in the lock all the time, so sleeping with the window open in an effort to get a bit of fresh air was not possible. The room was stuffy, and the hotel did not have a fan when I asked for one. The triple room was bright, with a large window that opened, comfortable matresses, and a ceiling fan. Two of the occupants were bothered by street noise, so ear plugs would be handy - but the hotel is not on a main street, and was not extremely noisy. Everyone in our group found several things they liked at the breakfast buffet, and I was happy to see healthy options such as non-fat yogurt, juices, and fresh fruit, as well as an array of pastries. I recommend the Hotel Dorica for its location, value, and friendly, helpful staff members.

We spent 6 nights at this delightful hotel. Everyone was warm and friendly and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. Although some light sleepers might prefer a room on the back, we enjoyed our room facing the stately ministry of something-or-other building with its fountain and flowers. The large window is not screened, and when you open the window and then open the shutters, it's almost like having a balcony.

The hotel is very clean. Our room was large enough to suit us, although the bath was rather compact. We especially appreciated the in-room wifi where we did not have to sign in everyday with some impossible long password. The location is very good--easy walking distance to shopping or eating places. It's not far from Santa Maria Maggiore (which you should not miss), as well as being only 5-10 minutes walk to Termini or Reppublica stations. If you have any questions on how to get to various points of interest, the gracious multi-lingual Marco can provide a knowledgeable answer.

I know that some people might miss having some sort of hot food at breakfast, but we loved the breakfast at Hotel Dorica. No one could possibly walk away hungry. There is a choice of types of coffee drinks, along with juice, cereal, fresh fruit, yogurt, cheese, and breads. But the highlight of every breakfast for me was the selection of incredible pastries. I might not know the official name of any of the pastries I ate, but every pastry I ate was beyond excellent (and we are travelers who always seek out the bakeries wherever we go).

We stayed at 4 four hotels during our 2 1/2 weeks in Italy. Hotel Dorica is the only one I'd want to go back to.

By the way, if you arrive at the hotel before check in time (noon, I believe), they will graciously allow you to leave your luggage there while you get your start on exploring Rome.

We stay in the Dorica late last fall. The staff made our visit to Rome a very positive experience. They went out of their way to assist us from providing gluten free breakfast, directions, loaning us a scale on the last day to weigh our suitcases etc. etc. etc. The staff were always friendly, helpful and always willing to help you.. For breakfast, after the first day they knew what you would ask for even before your asked. The location was excellent and I felt very safe in the area..

We stayed for 5 days in hotel Dorica, which we found on booking.com. The hotel is situated on a very charming plaza, opposite the ministry of internal affairs (which is not supposed to be photographed. Which we did immediately, because it's so beautiful).
The bed was good, the room was big enough, the bathroom was comfortable and everything was clean. And most important of all: the staff was so nice! In this hotel you're not anonymous, but you're treated as a real guest. We love to go to Rome, and I'm sure this will be our 'hangout' when we visit Rome.
