“Not sharp enough”
Reviewed 6 August 2014 via mobile

Stayed here with my husband on business trip and the hotel seemed to need some tlc in places. There are different blocks to this hotel and they are not in walking distance so beware. Our shower support was broke and we asked for it be fixed twice but nothing happened. Breakfast was a decent affair but never had dinner here. We were due to check out but needed our bags stored and they told us we had to got to another block of the hotel because they closed down the hotel we were in for refurbishment works!!

Dear Lorrypage,
Thank you for finding the time to publish you review. This hotel is made up of three different blocks which are served with an 8-seater minibus which does the rounds on a 24 hour basis. (this besides the 48 seater shuttle bus to the centre of Rome). Please be informed that the maintenance problem with the shower was duly resolved. Indeed we did some refurbishment to our restaurant and bar in order to provide better facilities to our guests.
I thank you again and trust to be able to welcome you back to our premises in the near future.
Yours sincerely,
P. Moore, Executive Assistant to General Manager

This was my first trip to Italy and it started off great. After having survived the drive from the airport in Rome to the hotel (as my American collegue was driving for the first time in Italy). Not to those who would like to drive in Italy..it is not for the timid. Back to the hotel, driving up to the hotel the grounds were beautiful and although my room was not ready when I arrived the staff did try their best to accomodate me. The room was clean and looked out over the pool in the back. We had lunch and dinner at the hotel as we were only spending one night there. That said the lunch was good and the dinner even better. Like most European countries ordering anything other than water or alcohol will mean you will get sticker shock. That was the case with the ice tea I ordered with my lunch. Luckily we were on business but it's still bananas. Overall, the service was good and the rooms were well appointed. One thing I did discover is that the Italian government does not allow ironing boards nor coffee makers in any hotel rooms. Very unexpected but when in Rome....

Room Tip: This hotel is located in a quiet area so choosing a good room should not be difficult.

This is a great place to stay with family, plus its located next to a great golf course for Italian standards. The rooms are large for Rome and the service is awesome not to mention the great breakfast which is included in your stay. The shuttle service to the city was also a great plus. Rome is an extremely busy place and this hotel is out of the hustle of Rome. Great place for family and for golf.

Room Tip: Great views of the Italian Country side and a Golf course in Rome

Room was decent, with speakers in the bathroom from the TV! Staff were happy to help.

The main downside was the price!!
Bought a bourbon and coke which was 12 euros!! I found this out after the drink had been poured and if I wasn't in such shock, I would have said not to worry!

Shops were not necessarily in walking distance and so I had to order something to eat from the hotel! I ordered one of the least expensive meals on the menu, which was still jaw-dropping, and I was shocked when the meal came out that it was merely pasta tossed in oil with a couple of tomatoes and a basil leaf on top.

Wifi also comes at a costly price in rooms and there were no options that were good value for a short stay.

Definitely not value for money!!

We stayed here for the final night of our tour, and I think a lot of other tour groups use this hotel as their last night stay because it is nearer to Rome's airport. The beds were comfortable and the room was nice. The doors to the room have a carpet-like texture on the hallway side, perhaps for sound proofing. We were able hear people out in the hall when they talked to each other. The bathroom had a tub and nice shower, and a heated towel rack (good for drying small laundry items). We woke early so that we could have a leisurely breakfast. It was somewhat confusing to see that there is a separate breakfast area outside of the main dining room where the buffet was served. We had to ask staff if we were at the right place. We got to the dining room right at opening time, and not all the hot foods were yet available. However, they all eventually made there way out to the warming containers. There were several tour groups having breakfast, but the dining room is large enough so that you don't have to search for a seat.

Reached the hotel quite late, around 7-8pm. Hotel design was not very creative. The check in desk was simple and quite honestly, boring. After a swift check in, we went to visit the city of rome. The hotel was not too far away from the city, but not too near either. It was not exactly very cheap paying the taxi fare, i remember we paid slightly more than 20euro when we came back from the city. Room was simple and clean, toilet was clean too. Nice touch to the picture hanging by the bath tub, must be an italian thing. I quite like it. Breakfast spread was not exciting, but the food was ok. It was a stopover for us before going to the airport. Didn't have the luxury of time to walk around much and explore the hotel. But we did pass by the pool after breakfast, it was calm and serene. (Winter) Beautiful view. Overall the hotel was ok, but lack of wow factor.

Lovely hotel, my room was nice but had a weird balcony. My friends in other rooms had problems with their air con but mine was fine. Reception staff were very pleasant and the hotel itself is of a good standard.

We had a bad experience in the restaurant, took us 40 mins to get our first drink - a fairly standard bottle of red wine. After two and a half hours only two out of seven of us had got our main meal. Other diners were being served so not sure what was happening. In the end we got up and left without getting our food so we went to bed hungry :-(

Room Tip: From what my friends said the fifth floor is to be avoided

I wish to thank you for your kind words of appreciation that will help us to improve ourselves, as we understand that with effort and difficulty we succeed to satisfy the needs and the expectations of our honoured guests.
Regarding your kind comment about the restaurant experience I regret that some of our colleagues of the F&B department not stand out for quality and service instead. I ensure you that we spend many hours with training both in class and on the job to consent them to understand the importance of customer care, that is the key point of our job. Surely we will reinforce the concept with additional training.
